The wooden coaster Joris en de draak is not painful. On the contrary, it is my favorite roller coaster in the Efteling. You really should try it, if you plan to go there. The most fun part is the fact that two sets of carts follow two different tracks, and then race each other. And the fastest set of carts is declared the winner with flags being unfolded, and the “losing” set of carts gets a lot of booing. All in good fun!

Not me, but my uncle, back in the 60s he helped a great artist with creating a big part of the fairytale forest, the early part. My uncle is also an artist. He taught me to draw. Whenever I visit the fairytale forest every time I visit the Efteling, I'm so proud knowing some of them were created by my uncle😊

1:00 Old wooden coasters can hurt, but GCI is doing an incredible job at creating thrilling rides that throw you around your seat without being rough and painful to ride. It's not quite as smooth as most steel coasters, but i would 100% recommend Joris en de Draak as it's one of my favorite coasters i've ever ridden. And yes, even though the efteling is technically themed after fairytales, 'and they lived happily ever after' isn't really part of the experience :)

On my 40th birthday we went to the Efteling with family and my nephew advised me, and my niece, to take the “left” row/queue for the Baron. It appeared to be for front row in the car. So we faced in the depth, cursed at my nephew for the satirical advice, but it was great after all 😅😀

When I first saw this video, I was just a simple fan of the park. Now, I work there in one ouf the resort's kitchens and I have even climbed the tower of Baron 1898 once, standing on top.

I've been to the Efteling today. Best park EVER. There is so much nostalgic story's with they can translate in such a beautiful theming.

Hi, I work in concrete as a driver mainly but I also oparate a front end loader and work in the laboratory if needed. Underwater concrete is a mixture that is hughly fluidic, so it evens out on the bottom by itself. Its poured with a concrete pump trough a float. The float is set the the height difference between the upper concrete level and water level. Divers check mostly by feel becuase of low visibility if the section is filled with concrete and direct the operator of the concrete pump where to move the float to next. Hope this was helpfull.

Still love the Efteling. Was there last thursday and just recomnized when you visit The Netherlands

Day after tomorrow I’ll visit Efteling again with my kids and grandson. He is tall enough now to ride all the coasters. The Baron is awesome! My favourite however is The Flying Dutchman, also a themed rollercoaster. It’s spectaculair moment comes when you and your shipmates (the carriage is a boat) fly out of the top of the castle into the lake and down a tunnel! Soooo cooool!

When u have the chance to visit the Netherlands u have to go to the Efteling. Take 2 days minimum to see and absorb everything. I guarantee you that Efteling will blow your socks off!

I was one of the lucky few that was allowed to ride on Baron 1898 before the park opened on the launch date. I won a giveaway on Qmusic (radio station) and was able to ride Baron at least 2 times before the park opened. It was broadcast on live radio. Later that day there was a 2-3 hour queue for Baron in a 30 degrees C heat. I was glad I didn't have to queue for it.

And this was 'Just an Infill attraction' to reduce lines according to the CEO of the Efteling. This ride was €18.000.000,-. The main focus was Symbolica, a darkride which cost only €45.000.000,- and was their next big attraction. But Baron turned out to be one of the most popular rides in the park.

Efteling really is a differnet kind of themepark its all about the feeling and them building with real materials gives you that authentic feel. If you want "Cheap" thrills don't really go there the States is the place to be then but if you are a true "theme"parc lover instead of just an adreneline junky it is an absolute must. Together with phantasialand i think they are the best themed parks in the world or at least the best without having a billion dollar compagny supporting you like disney and universal. (ok for you people from Europa park thats also extremly nice and should be on the bucketlist for any themepark fan and while some of the individual theming is arguable better i just think it doesn't work as well all together as efteling and Phantasialand. But i can understand if that one is your 1).

Its a very good themed ride, for sure, but you like to see more worldclass themed rides, I would highly recommend to check out the Phantasialand themepark in germany. Regards from germany.

I had a year pass when they were making this coaster, I was allowed to ride it the day before the official opening! Also, the part of the Witte Wieven is sung by the phenomenal Anneke van Giersbergen! (Just like Raveleijn)

Efteling is all about theming. It’s probably Europe’s best themed park. I live about 8 miles south of the Efteling and I visit it every few years. Anneke van Giersbergen sings the Witte Wieven, the white women, song line. The Romans could make concrete that hardened under water. Have a look at Droomvlucht

When can I take you for a visit to the Efteling?

*Looks around* Any Dutchies left here? Where did all the videos from The Netherlands suddenly go? Come on guys, there is plenty more stuff to send in! Unfortunately I'm not good at making subtitles like Inge (that was her name, right?) and editing videos, otherwise I would have sent a bunch of videos myself. Youp van 't Hek about Buckler for instance. Or good old Dutch classic songs with deep lyrics.

Baron is definitely good but I don’t have the nerves to ride it. Some friends consider it as less scary than Python.

Those wooden rollercoasters suck, I went on a wooden rollercoaster twice and I would come out with a massive headache.

My first (and last!!) coaster ride was the wooden coaster @ de Efteling. Me being afraid of things like that (mostly because i feel sick during and after) got the courage to take te ride....it was horror 😨

Ngl.. I’ve been on the Baron, and while it is greatly themed.. The coaster itself was boring as hell.. The ride was over before you’d even know it.. It was so utterly disappointing.. What I find hilarious, is that Americans really wanna visit European theme parks, since they’re so much more beautiful. But I, as a Dutchman, would rather visit an American theme park, like Cedar Point or Six Flags, because your coasters are just so much better 😂😂 Theming is great and all, but if the rides themselves are boring, then I’m not gonna enjoy.. I’d easily take Walibi Holland over Efteling, because of that reason
