Bending is the ability to manipulate an element and is significant to many aspects of life in the world. There are five known bending arts; four of them bend a specific physical element while the fifth bends the energy within the human body itself. The only case of any one person being able to bend multiple elements is the Avatar, who has the ability to practice all five bending arts.

Remember when iroh talked to Zuko about drawing wisdom from other bending styles...8:41 has Zuko defending Azula’s attack, but he does it with a very rigid stance similar to earth bending. Also, right before that, he begins his attack with a smooth circle ish motion similar to water bending ...I just thought that was interesting

I have a theory that energy bending was once a bending manipulating the energy within themselves or within someone else. Energy bending became lost for it had turned into elemental bending. That’s why almost no avatar had done energy bending since Avatar Wan (I think) until Aang.

Now I know it is not proven (I am not sure if it has been proven wrong either) but through the use of air bending isn't possible to some extent for one to have the ability to Sound Bend? Also you forgot the water and earth bending sub skills of Plant/Vine and Sand Bending. It may not be a sub skill but you should've mentioned the notable ability to sense the chi paths in some using fire bending.

I am so confused why there are three different origins of bending There is the one that says Air was learnt from Sky Bison Water was learnt by following the tides, the moon and Tui and La Earth was learnt by copying badger moles Fire was learned by copying dragons But at the same time Lion Turtles gave Wan the ability to Firebend Water Bend and Raava gave him the other elements (Earth and Air)
