Top notch video. The fact that Capcom celebrated Dead Rising's 10th anniversary by porting it to newer systems and PC is something that I really respect. It's not just a way to keep the franchise up-to-date, but it's also a very kind gesture to the fanbase that time and time again came back for more Dead Rising games. Hopefully any future installments in the series will be more akin to the beloved original.
still remember my brother and i saw dawn of the dead on the lower left side from the box we had no idea why capcom put it there until 2009 before zombies became a huge thing again i never get tired playing dead rising very fun game lets hope in the future dead rising 5 doesnt bring back frank please no
2005-2006: Masterpiece vs Masterpiece (A.K.A Resident Evil 4 vs Dead Rising) 2009-2010: Good Sequel vs Good Sequel (A.K.A Resident Evil 5 vs Dead Rising 2) 2012-2013: Decent vs Decent (A.K.A Resident Evil 6 vs Dead Rising 3) 2016-2017: Disappointment vs Disappointment (A.K.A Resident Evil 7 vs Dead Rising 4)
You know I've noticed something, in the release version of the game Frank uses the old running animation when you use the walkie talkie, I was able to tell because when you walk while using it the animation is almost identical to the old running animation, also most survivors still use the old animations.
Master Vidxad 58 Holy shit, i knew i wasn't the only one to play it! Man, i miss the year when Lost Planet and Dead Rising were released. Those were sweet times.
I knew most of this information thanks to the GhenryPerez's videos talking about the Dead Rising Franchise, but you did a great video again. I can't believe all the things that the game had to passed, like the legal problems about the similarities with the Dawn Of The Dead Movie or the possibility to be cancelled.
I would have pressure but I would’ve said some kind of news so I can add a bit of ideas. I know they were in pressure at the time but I can relate too. 5:34
Before this game came out, I was a huge Resident Evil fan and still am today, I had a similar imagination to create such a game as this. Flashback to 2005: I had just finished playing RE 1, 2, 3, and Outbreak 1 & 2. Who doesn’t like the storyline during the Raccoon City outbreak, right? With the hype of ground breaking GTA3 and GTA: San Andreas, this thought crossed my mind. Would if you could explore Raccoon City in a sandbox GTA game? I was thinking there has got to be a way. So with RU-vid launching this same year, I had searched multiple times to see if someone had made a mod of this type. They did make some type of Resident Evil mod with GTA: Vice City and San Andreas, but nothing to my likings. So 2006 comes and BAM! Dead Rising comes into the picture. I thought ok, you won’t get to explore Willamette, but you will get to kill as much zombies in the mall (you’ll explore Willamette later in DR4). I play Dead Rising and fell in love instantly. Everything about the gameplay and it’s atmosphere was just awesome. Present: Why the fuck did I not pitch my idea to fucking Capcom? I could sipping tea in the shade. Lol jk though, I love Dead Riding and I love Resident Evil.
There is one huge difference between Xbox one and 360 that I cannot overlook, missing zombies where Lindsay lets in the zombies, it looks like a ghost opens the door in Xbox one, that is my only issue
I fucking love this game to death. And in 12 years, I still haven't found anything that's made me as happy and excited to play a video game as when I was a high schooler from 2006-2008, spending all my free time playing Dead Rising or talking about it on the GameFAQs board. It's so goddamn good, and I would give anything to recreate that time of my life.
Beta Frank looks like Killer Klowns from Outer Space. It's interesting to hear they cut some stuff out; in some ways, it seems like an unfinished game, which is weird to say about a borderline masterpiece. For instance it feels like there should've been more post-game content than just "entertain yourself" Infinity mode. Perfect length for the video; didn't bore us with minute details, but gave us everything we needed to know.
Dead Rising is what got me to buy a 360 originally. Before that I used to religiously watch Darksage1331 gameplay videos until I was able to get a 360 with Dead Rising.
Wow.. this game is 12 years old Jesus christ. I remember when I was like 8 or 9 getting this for Christmas along with test drive unlimited and my first Xbox. Time flies ):
I know this is old but just remembering back then when I was a kid seeing the commercials the drop till you drop trailer I was just in love with this game it was so crazy how they managed to do this so long ago already it brings tears of joy that they ported it to newer consoles now I'm playing it on the ps4 and it brings me back to that young kid in me to just try to save the survivors and kill all zombies 😂😂 I'm glad I can be part of this special community of Dead Rising fans the first and second are my favorite I never played 3 or 4 but I always wanted to play 3 i know 4 sucks ass. 😂😂
Dead Rising will always be one of my favorite games EVERRRR...... it's a shame that the later sequel couldn't retain the same spark and story this one did
I have yet to see a box cover that did not have the dawn of the dead box on it. Are you sure it was printed without it? Considering they were in talks back in 2006, it serves to believe that all of them could have it. Are you referring to possibly outside of the US?
Love these video been a fan of you since 2012 thanks for making the best videos and showing dr1 history and cool mods you were and still are my go to for usb mods on 360
I appreciate the port to my xbox one, and it looks pretty amazing. I just wish they went and got rid of all the frame dips. For example when hitting zombies do it certain objects makes the game freak out for a few seconds.
I think dead rising 3 is probably the darkest zombie game in the franchise because there is darkness when u go in the houses and jump scares by the way this is just my opinion
I actually disagree that next gen and 360 dead are exactly the same. Next gen almost seems easier with less survivors to escort such as after you kill the cop boss you only escort one vs a whole group of survivors on the 360
They should remake DR1 and maybe 2 too. Maybe them remaking them, it’ll remind them what a DR game needs to be again if they wanted to do more installments.
You should do a video on the future of Dead Rising, tell us where you think it’s heading, what you want to see in the future, and what made the franchise so unique.
It seems to have been a trend with capcom not being happy with their game and redoing it all again. It happened a lot with Resident evil games like 2 and 4.
