I imagine the rocket launcher started out as an actual rocket launcher, considering the model also has a rocket projectile attached to it. My guess is that they had the idea for a rocket launcher and then it was cut and recycled into the toy megabuster.

Agreed, but genuine question: do you think anyone gives a shit about the monstrosity that Vancouver released or the only interesting lore that exists rests within the first 2, MAYBE 3?

We won't ever discuss 4. How dare those dbags say "were returning to our roots by bringing frank back to Willamette" and that literally be the only thing rooted into the first masterpiece.
@@cameroncooper44 I personally really like 3, it's been my childhood and I grew up alongside the series, when the Xbox One released and I saw DR3 was a launch title, it was my first game. The reason to why people don't talk about it anymore is because it wasn't as iconic as the first two. Yes, it had less relatable characters and a lot less lovable ones, but it had 4 great DLCs, had a great story and an amazing map. I just wish people hadn't forgot about it so fast, it really didn't see the glory it deserved Quick edit: I understand that you might disagree, I'm just here to state my opinion and maybe clarify to why you might not see people talking about it. It’s possible now we will get to see the rocket launcher in dead rising deluxe remaster because it was shown on the cover when Frank hold every object in a shopping cart.
Stip0, I know you have said you don't have interest in covering any other Dead Rising games in detail, but I'm just wondering if there are any development builds out in the wild for anything else? Mostly DR2 is what I'd be interested in.
I have a theory for the Rocket Launcher: 1: It would be used to take down the helicopter in Leisure Park in Overtime mode 2: Scraped Brock Mason Psycho Weapon
The Beam Sword is just Zero's X6-X8 Z-Saber, where it has a solid blade instead of the blurring one he uses in X2-X5 and X takes for X6. Weird how they were going to use it and the X outfit instead of the older design.
Beam Sword has been a pretty common term for a lightsaber-like weapon for a long time in Japan. I think it goes back to the original 1979 Gundam and has remained a staple of that series. Obviously both are Star Wars inspired, and "laser sword" was something Lucas often used to refer to lightsabers in the early days and even in modern interviews, so maybe it was changed to reflect that, or maybe "beam sword" was a legal issue form something.
I Have been waiting years to see the Rpg/Bazooka and it was worth it i like it a lot im very happy we got to see it in game and thare was one in Dead Rising 3 but its not a good as the dead rising 1 one in design
i wonder if the rocket launcher was never finished in development (if there's any reference of a rocket projectile and if the ball was meant as a placeholder), or if it was meant to use two ammo types, both balls and rockets?, maybe even show up in overtime, i dunno.
If Dead Rising were to get a remastering (DR1 for Xbox One doesn't count, it's more of a port), I would love for there to be some unlockable weapons you can earn after beating the game. The first unlockable weapon would be the smg Carlito uses to attack you with at the Food Plaza. It works like the uzi but is a bit more powerful and has better range. Second unlockable weapon would be the sniper rifle from the second Carlito boss fight. It deals heavy damage towards bosses and could even insta-kill the cultists. Third unlockable weapon is the rocket launcher. It works the same just as the heavy sniper rifle, but as an area of effect. Fourth unlockable weapon would be a magnum pistol/desert eagle. It packs a heavy punch towards human enemies and instakills the zombies. Fifth unlockable weapon is the beam rifle, it works like an assualt rifle, but is rechargeable by either batteries or by itself in a period of time. Sixth unlockable weapon is the grenade/pipe bombs, they work like molotovs, but they don't explode upon hitting the ground. Seventh and final weapon is the Über Camera. It basically temporarily freezes both the zombies AND human enemies. Think of it as a flashbang. Best part is that it has infinite batteries, so you won't ever have to worry about getting batteries to recharge your camera. So, what do you think about my idea?
I was watching that old weapons vid just the other day lol nice timing! :D I'd forgive the rocket launcher being boring if it still made explosion sound effects, aw well.
Hey STiPO, if they made a dead rising reboot with frank in Willamette, this time with Dakota added to the story like the early concept art envisioned, and an extended ammount of days with more crazy shit going on, would you check it out?
Why is it more likely that the rocket launcher is a prototype for the Mega Buster instead of the Mega Buster balls are a placeholder for rockets that didn't get programmed in in, and instead of grenades which would look wonky coming out of a rocket launcher that use than projectile that's already in the game

Dead Rising is the best example of a series that literally only got progressively worse. I think 90% of people would rank if as 1,2,3...5 (because it can't be worse than 4, even if it doesn't exist)
