Many people love caramel, either on its own or as part of a treat. Yet, not as many know about its thousand-year history, which saw it evolve from a hard candy into a soft sauce used in many sweets!
I think of Hershey as a chocolate maker rather than a caramel candy maker. We've made a couple of visits to Hershey, PA. His whole vision, both for his company and for his town, were fascinating. Thanks for another interesting video. Now I think I need to make some caramel!

Wow 1000 years! I had no idea caramel had such a legacy. I've tried to make caramel but it is very easy to burn. In the blink of an eye you can go from sugar in the pan to pure carbon 🤢
