The History of Knight Rider - The TV show, the toys and the video games documentary 

I didn't plan on posting this video on both of my channels. It started out as just a straight up piece on the TV show but when I realized how many toys and especially video games were available It expanded more and more. I wanted This to reach as many people as possible. This is not going to be a regular occurrence I assure you. Enjoy the video and thank you for your cooperation.

Now this is an awesome video I freaking love Knight Rider I still have my Kenner Michael Knight and Kitt toy car from the 80s not in very good condition but still around Knight Rider was my favorite TV series from the 80s.

definitely loved this one as a kid! I mean a futuristic talking car with a built-in computer and all kinds of wild james bond-esque gadgets? who wouldn't love it?! I do remember having some of the merch too like the licensed big wheel that had the front of the car and a little plastic windshield on it, as well as one of the electronic talking KITT toys with the Michael Knight action figure. (9:02) don't really remember the game as much I just recall it not being that great. (at least as far as the NES version goes, can't really speak for the PC versions, (or PCE version) though they didn't seem to fare much better?!) still cool I suppose if you want to live out the fantasy of chasing down bad guys in a super futuristic sports car.

I love this show. I have a die cast model of KITT that has a light up scanner light. I own the show on Blu Ray and DVD as the music is not the same. Most of the songs were changed due to licensing issues. I was always fascinated by the dashboard on KITT!

Used to watch Knight Rider with my dad back in the 80s. Absolutely love that show as kid. I even got the lunch box. It was very cool looking.

Whatever Kids Ride-On car that is at 19:18, I would've *LOVED* to have one as a kid! It's a huge missed opportunity that Power Wheels never did a licensed KITT back in the '80s or '90s. Or, uh, licensed _any_ famous cars, come to think of it. They really left a lot of money on the table, those fools! Awesome video once again, Patman. I love all the little details you bring up; thanks to you, I'm currently listening to Harry Thumann Andromeda in another tab. I've never heard anyone mention that before - in relation to Knight Rider or no - and that sucks 'cuz this album kinda rules and I wish I knew about it earlier! :)

I remember getting to see KITT when it came to my crappy town with the World of Wheels auto show. That's also where i saw the 66 Batmobile and the General Lee. we need more shows with car chases today if you asked me, it's whats missing from todays entertainment

I watched this on both channels and enjoyed it both times PatManQC!! I'll have to dig out that photo of me in KITT. You reminded me I also had a KITT Toy where it had some T shaped handle on the top and you could make it go super fast. I loved the heck out of that toy!!

Wow, Knight Rider! I barely remember this show, the Bionic Man, and especially The Fall Guy. I might have been like 3, 4 or 5 years old at the most when these shows were on T.V, so I didn't purposely tune in to watch them. All I got is teeny weeny flashbacks of K.I.T as talking Pontiac Firebird (which was a very popular car model out on the road back then) and David Hasselhoff's hair. Lol I even believed that the show was called Night Rider, not 'Knight', because I had no clue that Hasselhoff's character in the show was 'Knight'; that's how young I was, besides the show came on late in the evening when it was dark out too. 😋 As for the Bionic Man (wasn't that the same show as The 6 Million Dollar Man?), I can't recall any episodes from it, but I know the leading actor in that starred in The Fall Guy, which was one of the most insane T.V shows, next to Super Dave Osbourne. The theme song of that show was crazy. It went: 'I can fall from a drawbridge, I can fall from a... (Oh I can't remember). Lol It shows the 'fall guy' jumping from a balcony from the penthouse of a highrise during the beginning of each show, and I just barely remember that. 😝

I’m still a big Knight Rider fan and I didn’t know the theme song was from 2 separate songs so that was a great bit of info. I had the C64 game and both of the newer KR games and the second on PS3 had an English guy doing KITTs voice .. I mean seriously I wasn’t expecting William Daniels but they couldn’t find one American voice actor? For anyone who loved the show I follow Knight Rider Historians channel and they are currently restoring a screen used Knight Foundation Semi and have a screen used KITT too. Love the new content Pat looking forwards to the next instalment 😃

The stealth missions from the NES remind me of the first 2 games from the Metal Gear Solid series, Metal Gear & Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake

I remember Hot Dog Magazine and also Dynamite. We used to get them at school I think.

I'm happy to somewhat defend the 2004 PC game. It faithfully recreates the TV show even with the off voice overs. As a Chase HQ ripoff it's absolutely fine. What frustrates me about this game is they had the tools (unfortunately not the money) to do this as a GTA style game with the Chase HQ elements for the driving sections. So close yet so far. 😥
