This is by far the best documentary I have seen in terms of quality, presentation, and I've seen many. Cam, I said earlier this would put you on the map, so, I propose you to show this to the Need for Speed Channel here on RU-vid, it's good enough. 2017, Need For Speed under ghost games was the best thing it can ever happen to the series and for the fans. Payback, bringing back what we loved in both Most Wanted '05 and Carbon, more customization options, more cars, and new location. Don't let us down Ghost Games, you're doing well so far.

wish you had recorded the pc versions of the early games so they dont look quite so dated. especialy with a glide wrapper installed which would have give you a decent resolution to capture. other than that small gripe I loved every minuet of this thanks alot

Lol marketing was so much more cheesy back in the day, i love it. Ahh, NFS Hot Pursuit 2. The first NFS game I personally owned with my Gamecube... Boy was that a perfect christmas :') Seeing the NFS Underground 1 and Most Wanted footage made me wanna cry man. Those times were Golden.

Also want to mention that Black Box also developed the Skate series of games. It's really strange why they would be shut down after Skate 3 and The Run.

Nice to see Hot Pursuit 2 getting some credit. I've always noticed 2 (maybe 3 now) distinct generations of Need for Speed fans: those that came before Underground and those that came after (although now, you might argue that a 3rd generation would include those who came around since about Hot Pursuit 2010 or after). All of the Need for Speed games that came before Underground tend to get lost in the Underground hype, and that's disappointing.

Can’t believe this is 5 years old now. Still Cam’s most underrated video and deserves a million views. The amount of fucking man hours he put into this i can’t even imagine doing myself, this is actual passion for the series. If only Ghost could’ve upheld the need for speed name to the standard of Black Box.

Even though this video is outdated somewhat it is still a great video. I have never played NFS 2015, NFS Payback, and NFS Heat cuz I got out of touch with the series after NFS Rivals. I hope Criterion will make NFS great again.

Subbed! Great job man! I was gonna watch about 15 mins then go to sleep and here I am an hour or so later just done watching it. I consider both Carbon and MW2005 the very best of the NFS series. Those two games are like siblings. You can't just choose one over the other

I'm young so I didn't get to experience the earlier games. Thanks to the 2010 Hot Pursuit Remaster at least I got to play that. My fav is Most Wanted and Shift.

need for speed in my opinion should've focused more on police and exotics that could be fine tuned but not visually altered.

if I'm honest 2015 wasn't as good as people say and don't get me wrong its a good game but I've heard people say its underground 3 and i have to disagree, i don't give a shit about graphics sometimes and this overly gritty and rainy game doesn't remind me of underground at all, look i know some fans love it but i hate some things and before i get called names i love the game but i hate some things, the driving mechanics are good but don't call it underground 3, underground was more stiff and you had to slow for corners instead of just sliding around them, i get why they do it but they improved on the perfect and made it worse in my opinion, yes it has real manufactures of body kits and such, but black box came up with their own and they gave us the perfect amount of customisation, I'm referring to carbon, and nfsu2, and call me stupid all you want but im genuinely passionate about this, i want the cheesy but serious story, i want the underground racing, i want the fun amount of useless customisation in nfsu2, i wouldn't care if it had the graphics of carbon or nfsu2 because it would be nostalgic, and i couldn't give less of a shit of modern street racing, if i could i would gather all the people who loved the old style of Japanese tuning and fun without limits, the cities were alive and fun, the characters had personality you cared about, the m3 was a big part of you, you felt like you had to get your car back, it felt like you were climbing the ladder to be the best racer ever born, now it may feel like a fun game for a large community but back then, it was small teams of friends, sometimes enjoy Fridays in Bayview or Palmont, replaying the same games every year or so to get all nostalgic, and i do that to this day, my perfect game would have the story of carbon and a mix of the customisation from carbon and nfsu2 with the map of carbon, the fun characters from nfsu and nfsu2 along with carbon and most wanted, with graphics of carbon, with that they would give us so much nostalgia, with less time needed for the graphics they could make the longest story, the biggest amount of races like nfsu2 and even may be able to have all of the cities we love, and screw daytime, let the night time roll, that's my perfect nfs, whats yours and what do you think of all of this and all.... of this beautiful history?

not a bad documentary.. shame its not all encompassing as it lightly covers games the narrator didnt particularly enjoy.. Shift 2 was a commercial failure but it deserved better.. hell at the minimum mention the extra attention and focus given to its cockpit view... the ultimate NFS game lies in a mix of all features that have come before

If I had to make a personal list: 1. Underground 2 - When I was age 5 and my brother was 10 I always watched over his shoulder while he raced and costumized our car. Sometimes I played it, but my brother was older and better at the game. 2. Most Wanted (2005) - This is the game I always played with my friend. It is also a fairly big reason why we are friends for life. Without this game we would probably would have never met eachother, because we were the only ones at our school who shared the passion and love for Need For Speed. Always when I see this game and its logo, I remember to the rainy and windy days we spend at his house were we played this game for a very long time... 3. Shift 2 Unleashed - This is the first NFS game I bought on my own and dragged me into the NFS franchise again. I was going trough a hard time; my uncle and aunt died in a car accident, I had a hard time at school, I had pissed of half of my school because I turned down a populair, (ugly) girl at schooland her friends wanted to make my life as hard as possible (they are crazy bitches). So when I was home alone on a cloudy day I went and played this and it made me so calm and gave me a feeling of being strong. When I play Shift 2 it makes me feel like I'm the only one on the world at that moment. I love the costumization, proffesional drivers and the championships and cars, even the soundtrack makes me almost emotional. It does makes me sad when there are no people who share this game the same way as I do... These are the best NFS to me, I played almost every one, but these are just part of my history.

This is an amazing documentary! NFS '15 isn't a perfect game, but in the same way Underground wasn't, and that got fixed in Underground 2.

I stayed away from NFS SHIFT becuase PRO STREET left a bad taste in my mouth, but after seeing this i think im gonna try it

amazing work. I am a fan of nfs from hot pursuit and porsche unleashed. But after prostreet i kinda gave up on it. I sometimes tried the newer ones but i never really had the need for speed feeling like the other nfs games that really made the name for it. I really hope that nfs2015 brings me back to my childhood.

I honestly don't know how to put this into words, but what an amazing piece of content. All the memories and throwbacks this has given me is all thanks to the effort you put in. To work on something so hard and for so long (the past year) must have been an incredibly difficult task, but it really shows your dedication and passion for RU-vid. I've honestly never seen anyone put that much work in a video. And because of this, I honestly think this is the best video on RU-vid right now. You have my respect!

There were actually bombs in the PC version of HP2, and for some reason I prefer the PC version over the PS2.
