A good quick little video. I converted to Catholicism five years ago, in part because of the Latin Mass. I have been attending it since regularly since November 2017. I would have been a Catholic years before had I known about it.

There are more than 3 forms, most notably the Pontifical Mass at the throne. There's also the Pontifical Mass at the faldstool, the dialogue Mass, a sung low Mass, and the Papal Mass. A lot of the liturgy also changes depending on the date, location, order, amount of extra clerics, amount of altar servants, design of the church, and general available resources; though this does not result in a differently classified liturgy.
Federal Government has been investigating Traditional Latin Mass parishes and their parishioners. For some reason the current administration and its federal law enforcement entities have come to view traditional conservative Catholics as potential threats.
A few corrections on the definitions of the Low Mass, High Mass/Sung Mass and Solemn High mass. 1. No the majority of the Low Mass is not inaudible the concept that the Low Mass=Silent Mass is incorrect. Pius XII in the general instruction of the Roman Missal 1955 was very clear in the fact that the portions of the mass that are to be said in Clara Voce(out loud) are to be heard by the entire congregation. This includes the epistle, Gospel, prayers of the foot of the Altar, last gospel, Gloria, Credo and the other parts of the mass not specifically said to be said in a low voice. 2. The Asperges Me is not always said at the High Mass it is said on the principal Mass on a Sunday which is the high Mass, but the Asperges Me is not said when a mass is on a weekday even if it is a high mass though.
It would be nice to reintroduce the Tridentine Mass with Gregorian chants and sacred hymns... when listening to the Word of God or giving the homily, it is necessary to do so in the national language while for the liturgy it would be enough for the faithful to follow the missal

We got a lot of the info on this video from New Advent. There were a few different articles we looked at from there. We also used A Short History of the Roman Mass by Michael Davies.

But isn't Pope Francis similar to Pope John Paul is his decree and he didn't get the angst Pope Francis is needing permission etc from Bishop) I don't feel it in CT where I live. I love the NO mass I go to, have no interest in learning a mass I had as a child and felt I couldn't understand, but I think others can and should have a choice if available. We have about 5-6 in our state. I wish there wasn't so much against the Pope though, right now, I don't see Latin masses closing. I wonder if the fear feeds other things that aren't good. And Lumen Gentium is only a logical outcome of the error the Scholastics that the natural man is already halfway to God on account of his reason and virtues retained after the Fall. Though even Thomas Aquinas would be figuratively rolling over in his grave over how far Rome has taken this error now.
@davidphillips4542 As a traditional Catholic, I share your underlying concerns, but I think think that there is a good reason why many of us don't want to say that Francis is a heretic (and therefore not pope). Cardinal Bellarmine said that if a pope becomes a heretic, he is morally dead and can be deposed by the Church, provided the prelates who do so can credibly speak for the whole church. Presumably, this would mean the College of Cardinals, acting as a body. With their present makeup, that does not seem likely to happen. That means that we can not be certain that Francis is not a valid pope and we have to give him some benefit of the doubt. We can resist specific abuses of authority, but we cannot place a certain judgment about his status.
Thanks for that. I'm very concerned with the TLM and Francis. It it goes a certain way, Let's say, nourishment will come from somewhere else more traditionally orthodox. Hope is going well with your engagement. Your pure light shines bright :)
Pope Francis is trying to finish off the work of the Second Vatican council, that was halted by Pope JP II and Benedict XVI. He feels the TL Mass is holding the church back, we need to move forward and be not stuck in the pass. He feels at present the church is a rule book we must learn , while we should have started by learning who Jesus Christ was, take it from there. This why the synod in October is very important stepping stone to get the church back on track to VC II

Why is it that v2 has not been implemented correctly ?, how many years has this profonation been allowed with nothing but closing parishes and ex Catholics to show for it. At the TLM we are at the foot of the cross and believe in the real presence, the NO must ape the TLM to even approach the reverence of a holy mass. That you must seek out a "reverent " NO, shows the failure of v2 , look at a mass from 1965 and one from 1975 , the loss of reverence is obvious.

I'm part of a group on Facebook that seeks to restore a form of the Latin Mass to Lutheranism. The first Lutheran masses were a combination of Latin and German. The objection of the German Reformers to the Latin mass was not the use of a language other than the common language per se, but the fact that lack of proper instruction in the Middle Ages had made the mass incomprehensible to the laity in many jurisdictions. Nowadays with universal literacy one can avail himself of liturgical aids that translate things, a remedy that was not available in the 16th century. There is a persuasive case to be made for the liturgical use of an otherwise dead (and incidentally beautiful) language in order to filter out any crass associations of words in your common language and allow a more pure and focused state of mind. I would still insist however that the Scripture readings, much of the prayers, and words of institution/consecration be done in the common tongue. Gregorian chant also has some remaining presence in Lutheran churches though nowhere near where it used to be. The Pietist movement really did a number on Lutheran high liturgical practice and the damage is difficult to undo.
Excellent synopsis of the history of The Mass of the Ages, aka the TLM. I'm overjoyed to ear and see so many young people taking and interest and participating in the TLM. Beyond the reverence, which is no small thing, their is so much history to discover in the Mass. If you, or any of your viewers are interested in how the Old Testament , from the very first words in Genesis, prefigures Jesus, his sacrifice and the Mass may I suggest Father James Mawdsley's book "Crucifixion to Creation: Roots of the Traditional Mass Traced back to Paradise." It is quite the eye opener and for me developed a deeper desire and love to study the Old Testament in light of the New Testament. Keep up the good work. Stay strong. Stay safe.

As someone who is very new to the TLM, I was really hoping to learn more but there’s so much goofing off in this video that I’m more confused than before.
