We never realize how much our parents do just to make our Christmas magical. Now that I have my kids, it’s so much fucking work, but seeing their faces light up on Christmas morning makes it so worth it.
I have to tell you about my Christmas experience! My dad went back to college when I was 9. I would play my Barbie‘s quietly in the back of the class. When I went to college, I had the same professor. She told me that back then I was an ugly duckling, but now I was a beautiful swan. I wasn’t sure if I should take that as a compliment or a diss. Lol!

Elf is the best Christmas movie! Also, my mom would give me Christmas pjs and a movie on Christmas Eve to open. Before Christmas, we loved decorating our tree, listening to Christmas music, watching movies, and ordering pizza. We made decorating for the holidays an event. 🎄❄️❤️
My grandpa/uncle/dad used to dress up as Santa every Christmas Eve and be outside w bells and stuff & one year my grandpa climbed on the roof and looked thru the sky light & we all freaked out !! It’s so precious !
This was just lovely. I live on the other side of the world ( literally) to my whole family & my mum was always the one who would make sure I got a call on Christmas Day. I never realised how much it had become a little private tradition between us til she passed a couple of years ago. I still love Christmas & I get to spend so much time with my boyf’s family, but there’s just a little gap in there now. I try to use that 30 mins or so to just sit & think about mum & how magical she always made Christmas for us (I’m the oldest of 5). I hope you guys (& everyone on here) had a really great Christmas 🎄 💋

Ya wanna know what Is worth money from childhood? Polly pockets and I had every single one. And my mother lost them in a storage unit. 😭😭😭😭 I love remembering my old toys. I also have all the spice girls Barbies and their boxes❤️❤️..I remember saying I will know Santa isn't real if I don't get them all(ew brat).... My grandma said it was a nightmare trying to find ginger because she had just quit and her doll was impossible to find but she found one .. Best grandma ever. I miss being little on Christmas Eve it was so fun how excited you are and can't sleep.

One Christmas that stands out to me, one year my brothers and sisters and I all got bikes for Christmas, all woke up in the morning to 8 bikes lined up under the tree. My parents worked hard to get all those bikes for us. I now know how hard that must of been to make happen

Laura omg yes beanie babies are actually selling expensive now a days. There are some special ones kind of like Pokémon that you can make good money on! But totally understand keeping them for nostalgia😂❤️
My birthday is Chrismas day and I absolutely feel robbed 😭😭😭😭😭Also, I feel for Laura, it has to be so difficult to film a holiday video and bring all those memories back about her mom. My heart goes out to her 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Banana pudding is DEFINITELY a holiday dish 🍌 My Grandma made it every thanksgiving and Christmas! It used to be my favorite part of the holidays ! I still like it but not as much as back in the day.

My favorite Christmas traditions were: my moms side of the family was so large, that Christmas dinner consisted of potluck style. Every family would bring a pot of chili, deli meats, fancy cheese and Hawaiian rolls! Then at home for the first approximately 8 years of Christmas that I can remember with Santa, he “wrote” us a letter every year and would hide it in the tree. Me and my siblings would take turns reading the Christmas letter. Also, I was the middle child and only girl. My older brother was born on the autism spectrum, and living in a small Alabama town people would make fun of him. Then my younger brother was so creative and witty that he was always getting himself into trouble. So I was the “perfect” protector. I made straight A’s, I was a “gifted” student with the highest IQ in my school, I rarely got in trouble, and when I did it was mostly me protecting my brothers.

I am the oldest and I had to set the tone My mom is 100% Italian and believed that girls/women had to clean and take care of the youngings My fathers side started calling me Cinderella because during the holidays all the other kids would be playing and adults chatting (including my sister) and I was in the kid that was in the kitchen cleaning dishes and putting stuff away. On another note my favorite time was when we made homemade chocolate sleighs and Italian cookies and decorate made baskets out of the sleighs to give as gifts to our family. And my mom always made lots of Italian dishes but my favorite thing to eat were pignoli cookies

Yeah Christmas birthdays suck. My bday is the day after Christmas and I always spend it crying, so ALWAYS make her birthday special. No matter how old she gets. It's so important
