Abandoned theme parks are so strangely fascinating. You can almost hear the echoes from the enjoyed fragments of lives once lived there. Where are they all now?
Sometimes when I watch older videos or documentaries about theme parks, I look at the people and wonder where are they today. To think of the diff paths everyone there took following those visits.
@@OGPapiFresc Same! And it's not quite the same, but I think about all the vacation photos out there that I'm in unknowingly, and sometimes wish I could step back into those moments.
Hi there, I “lived” at the HLE for 40-55 hours a week for many years back in the early 2000’s. Guest services supervisor, weddings/events coordinator, and gap-filler. We all filled multiple roles at a time there. :-) Thought you might like hearing from one of the “lives that once lived there.” It’s surreal watching the video and seeing the park absolutely empty. Almost feels like I dreamed my years employed there… Anyway, I’m now on the opposite coast (California) in fundraising with a non-profit. My life couldn’t be more different now!
It’s sad to see the last days of a place that was once vibrant with life. I’m glad that you document them because it is very valuable to have this footage, sounds, memories at a later time. Thanks for showing us your trek to the Holy Land one last time.
Hey adam have you ever tried to reach out to these closed establishment's and ask them if you can do a walk through of their properties?? Some of these places might let you do it for documentation purposes. You are probably the most respectful person when it comes to things like this. I miss the videos where you would go to closed places.
Hi Adam so sad to see the beautiful Holy land Hotel torn down. So glad you were able to take a final look at the once active Holy land and Volcano island theme park,Stay well and safe 👍🏻😎
We are heartbroken! We went to The Holyland Experience on our honeymoon several years ago and many times since. It was our happy place! The actors were so talented and very annointed. The shows were awesome, and award winning. Trinity Broadcasting Network owned it, and we would see Jan and her pink hair there often! We were planning to come down there before Covid hit, and now we have health and car problems, but The Holyland Experience was where we were dreaming and planning to get to. It's just so sad! The whale area was the kids section of the park. It was cute! The big building that you thought might stay, is the Church of The Nations building and was fairly new. It was beautiful inside, even the bathrooms were ornate! They moved most of the shows into that building when it was finished. They also had a small model of the Holyland, the historic one, in one of the buildings as well as the figurines from Christus gardens on exhibit. They did baptisms outside the Church if the Nations in a fountain area. Thanks for the walk thru, I am just so sad! We will truly miss this place and all who ministered there.😥🙏🙏🙏
The painting on the wall with "water" as you said, is Peter trying to walk on water towards Jesus. Right next to the painting, you see the top mast of an ancient fishing ship, & of course a fish :)
Really dig these videos, Adam. Pretty cool you get to document all these changes. I think things like this will be especially valuable years from now when we can look back on it and see where we came from. Good stuff!
AdventHealth, the Adventist hospital network headquartered in Altamonte, Florida, has purchased The Holy Land Experience, a theme park, for $32 million. AdventHealth plans to convert the theme park into a medical campus to serve Orlando residents. The 15-acre Holy Land Experience was a Christian theme park that was previously owned by Trinity Broadcasting Network.
@@jameskeefe1761 count your blessings. If floridians don't get their "Acts" together in regards to covid, many many many of their beloved attractions may also become hospitals..... of the unvaccinated.
Jan Crouch (definitely worth the Google search) was the Matriarch of TBN and worked on the theme park. After her death, the Holy Land Experience was basically abandoned.
I enjoyed those videos. I actually won't watch his Disney Parks videos just all other places interest me more. Prefer to watch videos of places not covered by 1000s like Disney is.
@@oldschooldjernie but they were great and he is allowed on Disney property now so it worked out in the end. Still banned from Universal Studios I think, Comcast attorneys would be awful to deal with.
I was there when they had camels and baby goats roamed the property. Neat experience for young children. Went back several years later, alot different. The real animals were replace with the children's play area and alot of glitter but the plays were excellent. Got to share with my grandchildren, which was nice.
Wow 🤩 came across your channel & I’m loving it, you’re definitely showing a different side of each town you visit that I really appreciate. Thank you & safe travels 👍🏼
I'm saddened to see they closing forever. I'm surprised to hear hear. I went there with my family about 10 years ago. Loved it. Always said I wanted to to back. Never got a chance to go back. Wish I did. I do hope, it's been my dream to to to the actual Holyland.
Wow, i remember when the Holy Land first opened. I think i was in high school.... And i remember discovery Cove opening around that time too. I just looked it up... Holy land opened in year 2001, discovery Cove in year 2000 (we took a vacation and went to both parks and both were new at the time). Wow... Holy land only stayed open for 20 years then closed, huh.
Adam Bojangles (Keys) Woo, I would just like to commend u and say how proud I am of u and ur self control and restraint. No sarcasm or poking fun here I just want to recognize that I realize how tough going against ur inquisitive/explorer side must be and I think it's great that you've resisted. They never said it would be easy only that it would be worth it! 👍😍❤
Thank you for showing us interesting places other than the theme parks, Adam. No one else would have thought to do this nor would have taken the time to do a video on this.
I think that sculpture of Moses is from the moment that he is parting The Red Sea which would have been before he was delivered the Ten Commandments. It is sad to see an immersive attraction like this get torn down. It was an amazing way to entertain and educate kids of all ages so I'm glad you were able to capture it's final moments for posterity.
Back in 2006 and 2008-2009, stayed at hotels next to the Volcano Island Mini Golf. I heard the volcano erupting in the background. Good memories in Orlando. I am going to miss The Holy Land Experience. Only had been there in 2007.
Good morning Adam! Thank you for sharing this story! I went only once during a trip to WDW, and it was quite interesting and charming! I know that there is a backstory regarding its closure!👩🏽⚖️⚖️💰😜
Sad to see Holly Land Experience Them Park being no more. The mini golf as well. I remember your vlog in April. Thanks for sharing Mr. Adam. Be safe and well.
I loved going to The Holy Land Experience. I used to live in FL and we would go there many times. That was before TBN purchased the property. I feel so bad that it was sold to AdventHealth in Aug. 2021. I did not know it was closed until you posted this video.
9:11 Think of it, that light was generated inside our sun, bounced around inside for a million years, finally finds its way out by pure chance, travels the eight minutes to Earth, just to have your umbrella stop it 7 feet before it hits the ground. TOO BAD, PHOTONS! You were so close...
Wow.. can’t believe that’s closed I remeber when you went there when it was open! Here’s where it gets interesting.. @20:32 sounds like a shofar is blowing wow! Thanks for showing and everything you do Adam..
🌳 The gardens are lovely. I hope that someone gets the chance to rescue some of the trees and plants and statuary before the wrecking ball and bulldozers level the place. 🌳
That's sad to see 👀 The Holy Land being replaced by a hospital 🏥. Like we need another one 😢. Good thing you went to the last opening of it. I wish they had opened it once more so you could go back and see 👀 inside again.
I have to say ... this takes me to the way back machine when I first found ATW... not even sure TDW existed then. This brought back sooo many memories of videos past... :)
i remeber when i was 10, we went to orlando as someone from england my first time in the states was so memorable, we stayed on i drive and after having a falling out with my dad at the time we made it up by playing mini golf at this corse in the video. sad to see it closed.
Im currently surveying the property and I got to say it's pretty cool getting to walk around and check it out. The place has been stripped down to mainly the buildings. I expect them flatten everything.
It's kind of sad in a way. It will be further reclaimed by nature and deconstruction, hopefully not by vandals, in the near future. After that...??? Thanks Adam, for giving this symbolic place, respect. Have a great day, and thank you for what you do.🤠👏🎵
Due to a big loss of money even before COVID struck. The family had internal disputes that caused mismanagement that forced the closure. This place had really good shows with very good singers. I will miss this place.
Thank you, Adam, for your respectful commentary. I enjoyed hearing you name the Biblical figures, including Zacchaeus. I always liked singing the song in Sunday School...Zacchaeus was a wee, little man... We enjoyed visiting The Holy Land Experience, and are sad to hear it has been sold. We are regular viewers of your videos!
I live in Australia and when I saw Adam's videos I had this theme park on my list for when we're back to a little "normalcy" and I might finally travel overseas...
Sadly, the first time I knew of it's existence was from your trip in April. Even though I've been a visitor to FL for years. Other than Disney and Universal I really didn't explore that much of FL. Had hoped to do just that once we moved down..... In the process of moving right now. I'm sad I didn't get to experience this park for myself. Hopefully I'll get to see other venues before they disappear as well, but glad I got to see this one through you.
Excellent Vlog as always 👍👍👍. Been to that mini golf years ago and not like me but I put a comment on trip advisor about why you should keep away. There was holes in the fake grass and I don’t mean the putting holes. From the UK and have Been to Florida on many occasions first time 1995 but have never been to holy land. seen it advertised and I was 100% sure it was open back then but have just looked and it says it opened 2001. Keep up the good work 👍👍👍👍
So sad. My family and I have only been to Florida once and I am so glad we got to go to the Holy Land Experience! It was an awesome day! Thanks Adam for the update
Adventhealth is a classy company. I wouldn’t be surprised if they kept some of the architecture and artifacts for the new hospital. I believe Adventhealth is run by the Seven-day Adventist Church.
7th day Adventist church are not a true Christian church. They have some pretty strange beliefs. Just so you'll know, the Catholic Church is not Christian either. They are a pagan mixed with Christian church.
