Scooter really save my night always. Whenever my husband can't drive me from work to home coz it's middle of the night. And it's fun to ride also without the traffic.
believe it or not content like that is searched for i love night rides. my wife and i used to pick up birds a few years ago and they were free to ride till 4am if you were a fetcher. my wife and I would ride around the shopping centers at midnight till 2 am with flashlights taped to the front and speakers in our bookbags.
Nobody over a certain age cares about looking or being cool .. just getting to work, or being able to have some freedom..! after losing a car .. I could care less how I look... I'm just ready to go! 😅
@@lifeofaseven Yeah, I ride mine bc of that very reason. Can't drive anymore and walking is getting too hard with my medical condition. I honestly feel lame when I'm out in public though. Guess it's cause I'm 37 and self conscious...? 🤔
@@thereindeertherabbitthebat592 - I'm 35 and just used a Lime scooter for the first time the the other day, to ride about 2 blocks to my car because a back injury makes it uncomfortable to walk. That ride was fun and prompted me to start looking at these. I have an e-bike but I can imagine having a little cheap scooter in my car ready to use for whatever random stuff. Found a crappy one at walmart for 200 bucks and I may just pick it up.
Con: Flipping over your handlebars at 40km/h because you hit a tiny pot hole and missing 4 months of work. Make sure you wear helmet and knee pads along with your helmet kids.
Car keeps breaking down repairs are more and more expensive gas is at an all time high I’m going back to school in September this and a bus card are going to be my transportation way this year
I've owned like 3 vehicles prob tossed a good 18k all together and im no means rich. that's also not including gas or repairs! wish I never owned a car and either got a motocycle or other small transport. screw vehicles, they are fun with friends but you'll soon realize most of your "friends" don't own any cars lmao
@@chrisjackson1685depends on the time of the year eg. Sales. I paid a third of the price on all my escooters and ebikes. (I buy bulk to sell a couple to pay for mine lol. ) I hope you get a good escooter for an awesome price. ALWAYS LOOK AROUND
@@lishansanjaynot really on the manual of most e scooters it says not to charge them more then you need to thats why most chargers for them have a light that turns green when its done charging
This obviously is coming from somebody that knows nothing about electric scooters are electric bikes. The BMS fails or they charge system failed in the middle of the night enjoy the massive fire. And it's not paranoia it's working on scooters for over 10 years, please make sure you know what you're talking about before putting false information on the internet because others will believe it
There's no cons about it at all. I have my scooter run early spring to late fall to up to almost Christmas to the new year here in cold Toronto. I use it to to get to work at 10km and back. It's my second scooter $1700- all paid for from saving travelling cost. I'm going to my third free scooter very soon. So much fun!
@@joinpsye7045have you ever ridden it in cold weather, snow or rain? Considering getting this exact scooter to commute to work instead of my car. I live in Toronto too, so I was wondering if it can handle all sorts of weather conditions
@@akikogalvez429 I ride only if the windchill does not go down to -5C. Rain ride is too easy, the only problem slipper ice and snow, I don't dare again. Too many slips :D. Have fun wear your helmet.
I purchased a Segway F SE at sams. It reaches 19 mph and up to 25 miles range in echo mode. At 19 mph i can actually reach 19 miles. Which is still pretty good. Its my first e scooter and i love it. It always brings me some hapiness to ride and feel free. Im planning on upgrading for one that has more range and speed. ❤❤❤
Cons omitted from video: serious concussion, injuries, fractures and worse case death. I've seen plenty of people swerving pedestrians, cars, as people ride these on sidewalks. Further, bike lanes in SF and most cities are a joke. Unsafe as hell. If you love it that much, please armor your head, knees, elbow
I have an X-5 electric scooter and let me tell you it’s fast as hell the rush you get riding it is unbelievable but I wouldn’t recommend going max speed because the handle bars will wobble and if you hit a pot hole your finished
Yep the most downside to e scooters is their range like i use my scooter to go to work which is only 3 miles but the battery usually goes down by the 2-3rd ride so it’s better to get a bike whether it’s eletric or not. But it’s a bit better than walking
Mine uses 45% getting to work because it's all on a incline, that's 3 miles away, I was really worried on my first ride that it was going too fast, but going the opposite direction mostly down hill, I only used 10%, which reassured me of my purchase, 55% isn't bad for 6 miles I guess.
@@JackCh91Well shit maybe get a faster scooter that go 20-25mph or more just save a few hundred more bucks, Since then i git a new one which apparently have turn signals which i never used 😂 and have a bit more range and also have auto drive where it can go 15-18 mph if you speed up up long enough. It feels good going a bit faster sure it’s more risky but with experience and the right gears your good. Wear a coat and some gears and practice your skills while riding it at slower speed then go for it after a few days or weeks.
I bought the Nanrobot N6 as a first-time, high-end, e-scooter novice, and I have to say these are good pros and cons. I really enjoy my scooter. My pro is that it's a smooth ride if you know your path, and don't abuse the scooter. My con is that as fast as I can go, (and I go like 30 mph, which is very fast) I want to go faster.
I forgot the UK is a dystopian dictatorship. Meanwhile my state doesn't have any regulation on scooters. It's street legal and can be driven anywhere a bicycle can.
You forgot two more CONS: If your battery ends up dying and you are out of the warranty range, you are basically screwed cuz the price of the battery is basically the same price as the scooter and 2nd CON would have to be how silent they are, that can be pretty dangerous.
Is it pretty fast? I’m only asking cause I want to get one and there’s been a dog on the loose at night and I work nights. I want to know if it’s enough to save me from a dog charging at me.
You gotta check what your country/state allows in some countries it's 20 km/h in some 25 km/h in some 30 km/h for me in my country for now (which is poland) i can only go 20 km/h which im not going to lie is a little bit to slow could be 25 km/h also depends on the scooter ofcourse but most scooters over 500 USD go 30-40 km/h withouth restrictions also (most) electric scooters have it build in so that in different countries they automaticly block the speed to what your country allows
I love scooters but they also need maintenance. How is anything with a battery producing 0 emissions? Producing just the batteries is atrocious for the environment. Not to talk about how they get the cobalt needed for their production. All this doesn't mean I'll stop using my scooter but I think it's important to be aware.
I'll present my own take. But this one with comparison. Electric scooter are small, you can bring them inside a public transportation like a train or a taxi. With small wheels means it's not very good on poorly maintained roads. The battery will not last forever, and in 5 years time you don't know if you'll find a replacement battery for it. Does manufacturer still going to maintain it for you. Now compared to a bike, folding bikes are also small so you can bring it inside train or taxi. Bigger wheels are 16 inch or 20 inch it is better than a scooter when the road is poorly maintained. There's no battery to worry about. Moat shops can do maintenance for it and parts are not proprietary technology. Folding bikes aren't all shineshine and rainbows too as it requires better fitness for rider to cover same distance with an electric scooter
Got mine though blaze scooters, complete with removable battery and external battery charging adapter. It is chain driven which is a less costly alternative to hub motors which also don't last as long.
Stay away from Roadrunner scooters. I bought their flag ship scooter, the RS5+. Only 3 weeks of ownership and its falling apart. Front brakes were bad out if the box and now non-existant. The small lock pin on the stem broke as well. So im sharing my experience with everyone on youtube and facebook. Their warranty is garbage. I highly recommend no one buy one. Already posted mine forsale. I no longer feel safe to ridd it after 3 weeks of ownership. Spread the word.
A big con. They are much much more dangerous than an e-bike since ur center of mass is very high up. It’s incredibly easy to fly off of it or topple over from a slightest bumb
Also from charging it, depending on the source. No emission if using renewables like hydro or solar but some if using something like coal. But with the average energy production in the US grid, running a scooter emits around 25 times less than a gas car.
According to a 2019 study conducted in the US state of North Carolina, shared escooters produce 202 grams of CO2 per passenger mile over their entire lifecycle-more than an electric moped (119 grams), electric bicycle (40 grams), bicycle (8 grams), and even a diesel bus (82 grams), assuming it has high ridership.7 Jul 2022
@@S-O-T how? Where is the co2 comming from? From what i understand this is comparing a shared vehicle to a non-shared vehicle whic is pretty unfair to start off and this is also assuming it is from a country that generates electricity using fossil fuel. Am i right?
Quick question! Can i use it for commuting even in the Toronto winters? (I know it'll snow, but what if i got a real good jacket on? New to this kinda weather😅) a 20 min or 10 km ride??
Hey there! Yes you can. Segway ninebot scooters like most scooters can operate in temperatures as cold as -10 degrees C. Avoid snowy days with slush/ice roads, and you should be fine to ride. You will notice decreased range in colder temperatures but that is expected. Make sure to get a good jacket with nice gloves to keep you warm from all the cold breeze that’ll be hitting you while riding
I have one of my back tires blown out for the second time now and I’m not gonna pay $100 for these guys to replace a tube and charge me 75 for labor and 25 for a fucking tire. First, was an obvious blowout, my fault. But now it’s just like a slow ass leak like I can fill it up, but I can ride it home before it leaks out again
I had a lazy say to me "oh that looks healthy" as i ride my electric bike. Then you see her driving her car "oH ThaT lOoKs HeAltHy" Double standard behaviour. If youre lazy riding an electric bike. Then you too are lazy if youre driving in vehicles. To each their own is how peolle should see these things
Tate. Tbh, I'm lazy too that's why I got a car and ditched my 8 min bike ride but now I kinda regret it. Car is only 3 years old and already starting up with issues, both minor and intermediate, costing me even more $$ on top of an already high car payment, insurance, maintenance costs, gas, etc etc etc. not to mention they gauged me on registration. I should've just got an e-scooter or e-bike. I'm thinking about possibly doing that soon... I don't wanna live just to pay bills bills bills and still having extra problems when I'm literally just minutes from work. So, think it over! Good luck to you 👍
Con: freeze your nuts off in cold weather Con: small font wheels mean you've got to keep your eyes on the road surface Con: rain!!! Pro: Fun with a capital F
Cold Weather: No, just dress properly! Cost effective? For short trips, yes, but it depends heavily on the scooter. Charging time: Ok you think now only those 1,5-2A chargers are possible? No, you can fast charge ANY scooter! You just need the proper charger! Eco friendly? Those you guys are driving not really... too short distance possible to replace a proper vehicle, too slow, and its e-waste within a few years. Also, too many buy cheap scooters and then abuse them and repeat, resulting in more waste.
People just dont understsnd that its just another away to get around instead of using cars every waking moment. Just cause i can drive my car doesnt mean i have to. I can take the back roads on my ebike. Most of the time.theres empty bike lanes and i can ride in peace.
Hey Alex, yes there is currently a ban in Toronto, however you’re only in trouble if you violate the province wide regulations, as long as you don’t you can ride freely! Here’s an article on the regulations in Ontario: tdotwheels.com/blogs/news/ontario-e-scooter-users-may-face-fines-up-to-25-000-and-six-month-imprisonment?_pos=1&_sid=c4144cb73&_ss=r
Their rules are wack. Electric scooters can't go on the sidewalk or bike lane, and if it goes a certain speed limit they classify it as a motorcycle and you need insurance and registration, yet it cannot go on the road or need a licence plate. They're very confused people.
Batteries might be eco friendly during there use but the making and end of life isn’t eco friendly at all. So as long as you’re using your battery yeah I guess you could say it’s eco friendly if you ignore how they are made and disposed of
Why don't scooter riders in these videos ever wear helmets? Is it just not that dangerous (vs. falling off a bike or motorcycle)? or are they doing this to "look cool"? Because it sure looks like you could get really banged up if you hit a big stone or something. I hit a rut once on my Razr scooter years ago (non-powered) and fell and hit my knee bad -- thought I was crippled for life, but luckily it healed pretty well. Since then I've been a bit wary. Set me straight on this, someone.
