Funny I was thinking the same thing. I did 8 years and made lance corporal in less that 2 years lol granted that rank is a given but that just means Jenkins should've at least been a Lance Corporal.

You have to remember time doesn't work the same as we experience it. Faster than light travel affects how time is experienced not only to the relevance of the slip space jump, but also extended travel times that he'd be in cryo sleep. While he may be a private for 25 years overall, depending on how far his travels from the outer reaches of human controlled space and Harvest to Reach, being one of the INNER most hospitable planets, his trio could have not only been a few years but closer to even a decade. Humans slip space control and navigation wasn't anywhere near the same as covenant and likely took far longer.

The only explanation that makes any sense is that Jenkins was also prone to, I believe the polite term is "persistent disciplinary issues", enough to regularly be passed over for promotion or demoted as punishment, but not enough to justify discharging a combat effective warm body from the service, especially with the Covenant knocking. I imagine quite a lot of personnel that, by all rights, should've been kicked out were instead retained with relatively limited discipline and/or shuffled off to increasingly worse postings until a plasma bolt got them throughout the war.

I've been wanting another game where we play as a regular marine or ODST ever since Halo 3 ODST. Can't understand why there aren't more spinoff games.

I've only just seen his video about Infections! I'm sure he has a different perspective to bring to the table on Jenkins. It's inevitable that Halo Content Creators will cover the same lore from time to time.

Dont look to deep to it, as someone that watched up to 13 diffrent lore folk mianly star wars,halo fallout,40k after a while they ether copy or accidently copy or they inspire the community to get them to make a thing which others go to there lore folk and moan for them to do it. If you search and watch after a bit all lore YT folk ether run out or follow what the community post they might be intrested in. Its best not to look at it becouse if anyone steps back we have a bit of a akward moment when we relise we are just watching the same lore info just presented and worded diffrently but nothing acutaly new other than the opnion of the creator, really where all just trying to copy that magic shoddycast sparked off years ago.

I imagine much like people, albeit with a significantly longer lifespan, it is different for each individual infection form. some 80 year olds can still walk around perfectly fine, whereas some are bound to wheelchairs, etc. There is also the possibility that this particular infection form is exceptionally old, even amongst the rest of the ones on the installation, as they likely werent created ON the halo, but rather retrieved and contained from different locations for study
