This could tie into Roger's story as well. Maybe after getting sick he started looking for a cure. so he started going through the whole grand line looking for it and eventually got to lodestar and thought all hope was lost. but then through the voat learned about another island which would be his last hope. but when he got there all he did was basically confirm he was dying and was always destined to die which is kinda ironic and would make him laugh
I think if this was the case, I believe there would have to be a trigger for it, it somehow triggers to those who are getting dangerously close to the mysteries of the history of void century. As for the trigger itself, no clue what it might be
All of the strawhats have a dream and a clear goalpost they need to reach in order to have fulfilled that dream. For example, Zoro's dream to be the world's greatest swordsman leaves him with the goalpost of defeating Mihawk. Every strawhat has the equivalence, except for Chopper. His dream is to be a doctor who can cure anything, but we're never given a goalpost for how he'll actually reach that dream. This has to be because his goalpost is going to be curing a soon-to-be sick Luffy. It makes sense for Chopper's arc as the only reason he has this dream to begin with is because he failed to cure Dr Hiriluk whe he was terminally ill. Now, he'll be given another chance to save the most important person in his life. Hell maybe Dr Hiriluk was also a D and had the same terminal illness that Luffy will have, which would really tie the whole thing up nicely. Might even explain why Dr Kureha knows that the D clan is cursed, because she saw it in Hiriluk.
One piece is all about people rebelling against a unjust government the government that sees themselves above normal people they see themselves as gods greatest of these so-called gods being imu so maybe means devil or dawn because Lucifer in the Bible was once called Dawn-bringer
I like the idea of this, but if it's a disease given by Imu or Imu's subordinate, surely Imu would've known Lily was a D then, right? I think it's more likely it's like the "x" mark the Straw Hats used to say Vivi was their friend on Arabasta, because Imu reacted as if they'd been betrayed after learning Lily was secretly a D.
It's a fair point. I suppose it in theory could be like the Sun Pirates, where not every member is "cursed". Or I guess that Imu never had a full picture of all the D. Clan.
The awakened sick sick fruit is a good idea but law already showed us that you can undo any effect by it through Haki and i imagine someone like rodger was probably so strong it wouldve naturally undone it in one of his many battles with white beard or garp
Yeah, maybe. How Haki counters Devil Fruits exactly is still a bit vague, though Awakening seemingly closes the gap (Law not able to use Shambles on Big Mom but is able use his Awakening on her). I personally feel like it just comes down to how strong the character is.
