Pumpkin Night is the epitome of dumb fun manga. It's not serious and doesn't try to be and its that self-awareness that makes it so enjoyable. I read it around the same time as Freak Island and there are definitely parallels, the high intensity gory visuals, the overly cliché characters, the most out of left field plot twists, but you can't pull away from it. Glad to see it's getting a bit of a spot in the limelight

I found it by browsing manga sites. And found some other good manga that got my attention. (Rikudou, blade of the mortal, sidooh, uzumaki) they're like on the same level as gore as berserk. Probably not in terms of story but still fit the Seinen genre.

I love the series but I'd say the first storyline is the best one due to it being a simple fun and gory revenge story while now it has stuff like "she can talk to the dead" and it's just action from there on out. I miss it when Naoko was the antagonist

@@raynebirkin6726 That is due to the online translators they do suck but sometimes where funny. tbh the series reminds me of resident evil or horror movies that keep on just getting more absurd till they'll go back to basics

@@KOtpcf11 i had a feeling that was the case! Is the translator purposely making the dialogue bad? I literally got turned off when i read “call the ambalams, nigga” and “stop with the memes” just a lot goofy shit that was never being said before naoko died

I’m so glad I found this channel! It’s really refreshing to hear someone on YT talking about these somewhat obscure hidden gem mangas. Some of the mangas you’ve covered I’ve read and some I’ve seen but knew very little about and now want to go read. I think you’ve got something unique going on here with your writing, editing, and overall presentation. Can’t wait to see your channel take off so don’t stop making quality videos about the media you love because there’s definitely an audience here for it.

"Antagonist" Actually, she is the protagonist the whole time, just presented as otherwise at first in the very first two chapters.

The only thing that’s about to make me stop reading this manga is the dialogue.. it just randomly gotten stupid and corny. They shouldn’t have killed off naoko so soon either.

Pumpkin night was good but in some of the chapters it become more like Action. Ame Hollywood has a problem of milking things. Like I watch any Halloween movies now, I can predict everything and is not scary at all. Stories were good in some but not horror.
