Everyone should watch this. My Dad should have had this. Instead he was tucked on an acute ward in a super hospital but no palliative care. My mother would not be convinced and it’s haunted me for over two years now.

I must say that when I heard you had Children's Hospice as well it really made me so happy. Then to watch how you interact and take such good care of them with their medical needs is too awesome. Such great memories of Jill, David and all the others is so warm and loving by the loved ones and all the staff at Ellenor. Wished we had an Ellenor here where I live. I don't know when my time will come but I have already died once and came back on my own while sitting in the tub and water running. Yes, I died on Sept 2, 2016 but God had other plans for me. When I went to my Cardiac Doctor, I found out that my heart beat was 364 beats per min. but the defibrillator shock me twice and each time it blacked me out. After the first, I tried to come back but I wasn't ready yet so got the 2nd shock. When I came to it was like someone was holding my shoulders since I was at an incline. I didn't have any memory as to what had occurred to me. I didn't remember until 2 days later. I have already told my sons that when it's my turn to just let me go since I have had a wonderful life even with all the heartaches; I have been so blessed. I know what it's like to die and I am so ready.. I will get my 3rd pacemaker/defibrillator in less than 5 years since it has to work hard keeping me alive daily. Most ICDs last up to 10 years but mine won't and can't since it works hard. I am 67 and have done so much volunteer work in places as Ellenor. I think that is where God wants and needs me since I love to sing and bring joy to others. I am a disabled veteran too so I can give so much to our ill vets as well; gives the ability for the vet to talk about their service and refresh their day. God Bless You All At Ellenor....

You are most certainly an angel among us doing His work. You have things most of us don’t: no fear of the dying process or death itself, and first hand knowledge of that mystery that lies in the other plane and the path there. Due to that, you are uniquely and extremely valuable in a hospice unit-you’re not regurgitating all of the guesses and theories about death and dying, you can tell someone exactly what will happen and that is an amazing gift for both patients and their family. I’m so glad you volunteer and share that gift and I hope you continue doing so until you can’t anymore.

@@notthecheshirekat2596 I would do that for anyone. I think God gave me my missions long ago but I was one who never believed they would live passed 16. It was the overwhelming feeling I had daily. I think he was getting me ready with what life offers and all its choices. Since my mom died just as I had turned 14 and made me an orphan, I needed great care and God with all his glorious angels were there for me. Yes, I have met two angels face to face and it is so pure that it's extremely overwhelming. I have been blessed so much in my life that to give back thru my experience leaves my heart and soul full and free. It soars my love for others. I walked in to one woman's room one time in the assisted living home when her room was empty meaning her visitors were out of the room. I held her hand and looked in her beautiful eyes and said to her that it's ok, you are loved and can be free. She was gone in one week but I saw a woman with deep concern in her eyes who gave me an angelic smile as I walked away. I really loved her... It was strange the way her visitors were treating her without feeling and so distant. I felt for her to have those people in her presents. So many die in the end with the buzzards looming. I truly abhor that feeling. To have someone with you that truly cares and loves you is the ultimate experience before the eyes shut. I buried my two hubbies in 2012 and last in 2016. They went out of life knowing they were loved. During those 4 years, let me know God had other plans for me but I never questioned what and why. I placed my life fully in his hands and the missions came to me. Just remember that death is fast and quick but the suffering or not is the hardest. That's why heavy meds during the end. I am sure there are many more angels out there who are doing the work that God needs of them. When I knew my mom was with me all these years, let me know the afterlife was real and a place we make as our own until our loved ones cross over. God Bless You and always think of me holding your hand as your loved ones would do, with a smile on my face and radiant love in my eyes, heart and soul for you.

I wish my dad had this care. He was abused at the facility & after nearly dying had to go back there until he passed away. He was just 51. Because of what happened to my dad, once my incredible Mom got to the point of needing care, I went to tons of facilities looking for a wonderful place for her. My sweet daughter & I found a small ish place where you could start out in an independent living apartment, & then move to different levels of care all the way to death. It was INCREDIBLE!!! I made sure that we visited Mom at ALL HOURS, & she was always clean, hair done by their beauty salon, nails painted, etc. They have a chef, & can order what they want, & the food was fabulous!! It was so good that I looked forward to having meals there w/my Mom & daughter!! Mom died in her sleep on 11.30.18, & we immediately went over. They had angled her bed facing the door, & if Mom had been incontinent when she died, there was no evidence. She was spotlessly clean, tucked in her bed in Christmas pajamas, w/her hands folded on her tummy. We stayed while the people from the funeral home got her ready for transport, & they told my daughter & I exactly what they were going to do each step of the way. They were incredible. The staff at the facility had always loved my Mom, & we couldn't imagine better care. I just wish my fabulous Dad had been there all those years ago.

I’m so sorry to hear about what your dad and all of your family went through, that is absolutely cold and cruel behavior to abuse and/or neglect someone who cannot care for themselves. I sincerely hope you told anyone who would listen about that horrific experience and facility, there is no room for that sort of human ugliness in this world. I’m glad you had such a wonderful facility and staff caring for your mother-that is precisely what should be done for everyone.

@@notthecheshirekat2596 Thank you so very much for your kind words! When my Mom discovered that my dad was just being ignored since he couldn't speak anymore, she contacted the State & also got the advice of an Attorney friend who specified in elder abuse/law. Once Kaiser had the horrific bedsore on his hip starting to improve, my Mom found out that he had to go back to the same facility!!! At first we were very upset, but the Attorney said that since Mom had reported it to the State, it was a GREAT place for him, because they knew that people were going in at all hours to check on his care & were making reports! The pressure sore had gotten down to Dads hipbone, & the facility was told to change the dressing 4 times/day. But he became septic, & was rushed to Kaiser. When they took the dressing off, they said it was the same dressing that Kaiser had discharged him with about a week earlier! Bless their hearts, they couldn't ask Dad about pain, so just to be sure, they'd give him morphine about 30 minutes before changing it so that he wouldn't be suffering w/no way to let anybody know! Soooo, that's why I was INCREDIBLY GRATEFUL for the wonderful place we found for my incredible Mom! They were amazing. It's called "Atria of Carmichael" & is here in Sacramento in case anybody needs a place in this area!

We've had a rash of those catalytic converter thefts here in the States, too. Such a wretched shame that people don't have enough respect for themselves or others to actually get an honest job and just make life more difficult for others without a concern for hardship that it causes. The Eleanor sounds like a marvelous facility.

Chemotherapy will be horrible and a terrible way to end your days. It won't save you, only bring you pain. Don't do it. I just lost my very dear friend who did this. His end was very bad. It didn't prolong his life, only his suffering.

Hospice is a death camp of the Nazis. My wife Louise has two wicked daughters cina mcbirde and jayla mulhauser from Washington state. They took my wife to their house in their environment. To sign papers no one else around to disagree or dispute they're scheme. Turn out to be medical power of attorney. They took my rights as Louise husband away. I didn't know such a law could overrule the husbands rights. They weaponized law enforcement and their security to alienate me from my wife's presence, I am not allowed to be with my wife for the last time, speak to my wife for the last time, won't be able to pray with my wife for the last time. They won't allow me at all. If I disagree they will put me in jail, on top of my sadness, broken heart, the stress perplexed the daughters brought. It's evil what they have done. Hospice is not caring about anyone !
