I have a few of the original late 1890’s legal tender Libertads, a few of the original pattern/design 1984, ‘85 and I think ‘86 Libertads and some 2012. Beautiful coins, the 1980’s one’s are smaller but thicker.
Nice content. @ STACKINGTHESOUTH has a nice group of Libertads. He did a great video including the mint statistics. I am going to do a short video of mine in a few days as well, as i am waiting on delivery of a 2020. just to show my collection too. Love em! Keep the great videos coming. 😠👍
Hi Macdonald. Are you Old? Do you have a farm? I am a Libertad collector. I have an example of every 1 oz silver Libertad in every finish; bullion, proof, reverse proof, and antique. I also have various 2 oz, 5 oz, kilo, fractional, and gold Libertads in my collection. The most gorgeous coin in my entire collection is my 2018 1/2 oz gold Reverse Proof Libertad. I think the silver Reverse Proof Libertad is also beautiful. I started collecting Libertads back in the early 90s. The Libertad was the redhead step-child of bullion coins back then and inexpensive. Not so today. They are expensive today. They hold their value well. I have the 1989 1/4 oz Platinum Libertad on my bucket list. It is a very scarce coin and hard to find at any price. I am a Libertad Fanatic. I am new sub #1.58K+. I look forward to checking out your content.
Gday @Donald hope you are doing well . I’m collecting them like crazy to now , I have a couple in ms70 silver plus I won the 2023 1/20th gold MS70 which is my favourite coin think they only made 2000 of that one . Reverse proof look amazing 👍
On the Libertad 'LEY' means 'BY LAW', which makes it a non-denominated coin backed by the Mexican government. I like both versions of the Angel of Independence, and I've got half a dozen so far.
