I have seen The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes!
The new movie is a prequel that takes place 64 years before Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) volunteers for The Hunger Games. The story focuses on a young Coriolanus Snow (played here by Tom Blyth and in the other films by Donald Sutherland). The Snow family has fallen, but Coriolanus is determined to get them back on top and in order to do so, he must turn a Hunger Games tribute who's least likely to win into a star -- District 12's Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler.)

i'm guessing the "so-so" last third is everything post-Games (that's what the book felt like). still watching it in theatres though

I liked the story here. Saying that, I would rather the movie focused on Lucy instead of the ultimate movie villain. I would much rather focus on good people in society and in movies than villains'/anti-heroes.
