Another excellent video. I'm so glad I found you. I was just about to buy a Life Fitness G7, but balked when they wanted $499 to assemble it. Some, if not all, will think I'm crazy for doing this at age 67 and just getting back into lifting after too many years away, but I don't want to spend my retirement watching the Hallmark Channel and doing puzzles down at the senior center. Space is a premium for me so I'm going with the PT WB Multipress with the following: lat tower, pec fly, curl machine, leg lift, 255lbs weight plates and the attachment holder. I know I'm going whole hog but they're on sale right now. I considered the Ironmaster super bench v2 but they don't offer a pec attachment for their bench. Hopefully, they ship freight or the UPS or FED-EX driver will never speak to me again. Have fun and lift responsibly.

Thanks so much. I’ve had 2 Multipresses over the years and I always liked them. The Multipress is very easy to assemble as are all of the attachments. I hope you like all the equipment…if you have time, check back in and let me know. I have reviews for almost all of Powertec’s products.

Good to know. Angled smith machines seem to cause me trouble, like you’re saying, as the weight gets heavier. However, no issues with the IM 2000. @@HomeGymHacksandReviews Had the IM2000 along with most of the attachments as my main piece of equipment for around a year, also had the PT sled and functional trainer, my reoccurring shoulder issue force me back to a LeverGym, otherwise I may still have had the IM2000, all of your observations of the IM2000 are spot on, my only concern was with the single bolt connecting the front posts to the lower frame, you can’t access the bolt once the system is built, so no way of checking it over time, why they didn’t add side plates to fix the front post down is beyond me, having a single point of failure knocked my confidence in the IM2000.
@HomeGymHacksandReviews
@HomeGymHacksandReviews 2 года назад

@williamaustin6132
@williamaustin6132 2 года назад
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews You are correct, I haven't heard/read of any negative issues with the IM2000 frame, but nevertheless, bolts under stress can fail, If the bolt did fail during a lift you could be pretty screwed, as the front posts not only service the smith bar, they also service the smith bar safeties, I just don't understand why they didn't add side plates to bolt the front posts, it wouldn't limit the smith bar function.
@HomeGymHacksandReviews
@HomeGymHacksandReviews 2 года назад
@@williamaustin6132 side plates would certainly add some added structural integrity to the unit. The design would need to be super sleek, because the smith bar travels all the way up the rails to the bottom of the cross bar for some exercises and the slide rail doesn’t sit flush with the top cross bar or the bottom feet. Another option would be to have the slide rails fit into the cross bar and feet…then add a bolt.

I have both the IM2000 along with an older Powertec Lever Gym. My PT doesn't have the ability to use the individual handles and the safety stop sits back further and is just out of my arms reach to be able to remove it when doing squats, so I have to start in the bottom position. I also can't remove the bench, without unbolting it, it just swivels out of the way. I can't do pulldowns on it, the knock on PT equipment has always been that any of their pulldown movements isn't built for anyone over 5'10". You can't get a full ROM. I also feel like you lose the resistance at some point of the movement using the high/low pulley. I'd love to trade up to the newer model PT Lever Gym, but will wait until after the pandemic pricing in the used market goes back to normal. I bought my PT about 8 years ago for $400, the guy also threw in two Hampton deep dish oly plates, 400 lbs of Sports Authority oly plates, an EZ curl bar, an oly weight tree and a hex dumbbell set from 10-30lbs in 5lb increments. I sold the dumbbells, curl bar, and weight tree all for around $175 so I really don't have much invested in it. I love having the flexibility to do pretty much any movement in either free weight, smith machine, or leverage form. I need variety in my training. I have several attachments for my IM2000 and definitely consider it the most versatile piece in my gym. I'd recommend it to anyone, for the cost even at new, you just can't beat it. If you had a small space or just a small spare room you couldn't go wrong with the IM2000, Super Bench Pro and their quick lock dumbbell set. I bought those all new at the start of the pandemic and am happy with all of the purchases.

You got a good deal! For the LG squat, have you tried starting from a seated position, like on a small stool? Same thing for the Lat Pulldown…rather than sitting on a bench, have you tried sitting on a stool that is lower than a bench and locking your legs under the roller pads? I think I show both in my first Levergym video. I am glad to hear you like the IM 2000. And you’re right, I could easily get away with what I have in that spare bedroom and get a complete training program.

So essentially the levergym is equal to a latpull down / low row with a 150lb stack. That's no where near enough for any serious lifter. Have you ever exceed the 300lbs capacity to around 450lbs?

I’ve got the early powertec lever gym without the lat pulldown and I’ve exceeded the capacity on that . I’ve added weight plates to the actual handles for extra resistance. Though it’s probably not recommended and would validate any warranty , it has not done any damage to my machine .

@HomeGymHacksandReviews
@HomeGymHacksandReviews 2 года назад
That is an excellent question. You would think as the plates move higher, the resistance gets easier. However, I honestly do not “feel” changes in the resistance during any portion of the repetition. If anyone else wants to share their experience, I would be glad to hear it.

lol! The red bench (which the make and model still remains unknown…possibly homemade) should have been my number #1 piece 😂 Dang! I’m seeing these prices jumps with everything. The Titan Seated Leg Curl (which I love) has jumped $200 in less than a year.
