Tatum draws 3 every time he drives, and he drive 29 freaking times in game 2. Jrue knows who drives the team and gave JT his props after the game. Jt and JB on the team is just a blessing.

What Kidd said is completely true, Brown is more constant in his shooting and drives and he makes great actions when they are asked from him defensively and offensily. Tatum is always searching for his shot and forces then often also with his drives and in clutch time he is never there. Overrated player as Brown until now was underrated.

Thanks for your educated take - you clearly watch the games, and don’t just report off of box scores like Skap Attack. According to Skap, Tatum got carried Game 2 all while putting up 18 points, 12 assists and 9 rebounds + his good defensive effort. Apparently being 1 rebound shy of a triple double while playing above average defense that game is, “getting carried” and makes him a, “scrub”. (Skap’s words, not mine).

Tatum has grown so much as a player that he has found a way to still lead us despite double and triple coverage every time he even looks at the ball. It's ok he can't score 40 per game as long as he keeps leading us through his assists, rebounds, and leadership. :)

Real basketball fans don’t “think” about stat lines when watching the game ~ we let our eyes 👀 tell us who is balling, what players are making an impact. Tatum hasn’t been shooting it well, but he’s made an impact on the game. Regardless of his shooting splits, he was the primary facilitator on offense. Conversely, Luka had great shooting splits, played “Olay” defense, missed a bunch of free throws, and shrunk in the second half with only 8 points and 6 turnovers. But you only hear about “He had a triple double “ That’s the problem with the game now, the way the game is viewed, offensive stats. Fans don’t understand, defense matters. If they don’t understand that they can never understand the nuance of the game… It’s frustrating because many of the younger generation, it is how the understand the game ~ even many players … (remember the comedian roasting KD for saying offense wins championships… if you haven’t please look it up 😂) former players (Gil Arenas) even Lebron…many fans simply don’t get it, and downplay it’s importance, especially when it comes to winning, and the things that will ultimately place a player in the Greatest of All Time conversation…. in short, if as an individual player they don’t compete on defense, they will never reach their full greatness, they will have a career full of stats… but in the end, there’s one era where the rules were changed to assist scoring, hopefully that era is passed and defense will be relevant again, and the very best players will be two way players… like all the TRUE greats have always been.

Tatum is a Top 6-8 Player that doesn't have the 'dawg' mentality. Whereas Brown is a Top 20-25 Player that has IT. You combine these two with two All-defensive Allstars, and a fringe Allstar (Porzingis), and you have a Superteam 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'd think of it this way. Look at the 09-10 celtics. Who's the best player? Tatum is essentially playing the rondo role. Jb is the pierce of this team. Tatum is the better do it all guy. Brown is the better scorer and on-ball defender. JT is in his prime draymond green bag now. All JT has to do now is either shoot better or take less shots.

I'm fine with Tatum being cold from the field, but his selection of turn around fadeaway jumpers with clock left makes me want to toss my TV out the window.

Why are they "shifting the defense towards Tatum constantly"? Well, they arent, they are helping the beaten perimeter defense and Tatum is the one initiating offense and beaten the perimiter defender. Sometimes they mix doubles trying to make Tatum turn it over because they dont have a player that can guard Tatum OR BROWN one on one. Skill is only that if you don’t show up when it counts and I believe that what people problem is with Tatum. As A superstar you have to show up and Tatum just hasn’t don’t that on a superstar level yet

I don’t think it’s fair to say one is better than the other, they compliment each other so well. JT may be the better playmaker and rebounder but JB is the better defender and off ball pest. Best way to look at it is JT is the big loud distraction for JB whom is the silent assassin

Tatum is a stretched 1 to 5, and a cornerstone, but he must stop taking PG13 type of shots. In this finals Tatum has the Jokic effect, elevates his teammates by facilitating and drawing so much attention from opponents' Defense. If these traits don't count for a FMVP then what? Every other player can score in a situation like that (when the whole defense is fixed to one player) and all the Cs are good defenders. It could be JB, KP and as the finals goes Holiday (the best +/- right now for both games) and White too. Imho this type of awards are bad for a team sport, like basketball, and Cs are showing some character right there by not giving a F* if would be JT or JB. Give it to AL, the man is a legend.

The great thing about the Celtics is that they have 5 #2 type players on their rotation. Tatum is not a #1. He’s a great #2. But so is Brown, Porzingus, White and Holiday, which is why they are a great team because no one on this team is above the team. 💪💪💪
