Man your amazing I've been watching your video from the moment you started to share videos about evony , seriously you helped us a lot and saved a lot of times , thanks a lot for these wonderfully videos and knowledge aka . Have a nice weekend bro 😊
Thank you very much for your continued support 🙏🙏 and I'm very glad that the videos have been helpful to you 😊 Hope you have a wonderful weekend too ☺️☺️
Thank you very much 😊🙏 Since Dmitry is designed specifically for reinforcing, I think he will work fine. It will now just be a matter of how much buffs you can get from him vs other generals 😇
@@barry-jongardner9204 Dimitry is real ONLY good for reinforcing. If I remember correctly, his main skill ONLY APPLIES when reinforcing. Universally Buffed generals buffs apply in every scenario
Wow I long suspected some of these but huge bombshells where dropped in this video. You are what makes this game fun. Not the greedy developers but a player willing to share his research into the game and you are not someone constantly pushing spend money said in different ways. Thank you!
Evony, just when you think they make everything literal, they throw you a curve ball. I wish you'd have had time to test Godfrey, now you've motivated me to do so. I'm one of the bigger guys and mentors on my server and have been re-gearing my playstyle towards reinforcement since slightly prior to Godfrey''s release, I took Godfrey as a sign from the Evony Gods that I'm on the right path 🤣. This video was exactly what I needed to see, so thank you so much for your research and time! I'm not mad at you Evony-Top Games, I'm just disappointed..
Thank you 🙏 and I'm glad to hear that this video sparked your motivation 😊 Yeah, unfortunately we didn't have time to test Godfrey and a few other things but, there will still be opportunities to do so 😊
Akayasha, could you please check dragon talents for reinforcing, as well as rally joining. Thanks in advance, love your videos and can't wait to see what you come up with next
For keep reinforcement, yes. I'm already working on that one. Hopefully should be done before the end of the week 🤞 For buildings, not quite 😅, but will take note of that 👌
You didn't test the most important thing, the in city troops buff coming from red stars duty geberals and blason ( defending buff ) hope you will do . Thanks for the video its really useful
Very educational video! I’ve always wondered about Marching vs just plain attack,hp, defense. So, if the Main general has 10 stars and the buffs say Marching I’m assuming they do not apply when reinforcing? Blood star buffs….but if they just have plain attack,HP, defense buffs they also would apply for reinforcing?
Thank you Aka!! Next question. How are the attacking players debuffs applied to the reining generals buffs? I assume they are, so I assume flats would be better than percentages?
That's something that is difficult to test, but my working theory is that the attacker's debuffs are applied uniformly to all reinforcing marches, as if the attacker was solo attacking each March. 👌 As for flats vs percentages, that would really depend on the troop.type and a few other factors
Debuffs from reinforcing troops do not work. So if you put achaemenidae gear on a general and send to reinforce, only the applicable buffs on the gear will apply. No debuffs 👌
hello can you please make video about merlin vs charles and other range and/or totila vs lux xun? :) if not its okay i appreciate all of your content! thank you Aka!!
Hi 👋 I usually try to cover the newly released generals, but unfortunately, when Merlin was released, I was busy with other videos and real life, so I couldn't do a comparison video then I have done other comparison videos for ranged generals (I believe I've covered Charles, Douglas and Marcus previously), and other ground and mounted generals as well 😇
Hi Aka, you said for spirit beast defending clause is not working. What about defending blazons ? Should we assume that the basic attribute “defending” is not working and only the “reinforcing” one is working ? Also again for blazons what about the defending debuff from the whole set ? Like “sacrifice set”. Thanks for the great video btw 🙌
@@andrewchris4480 Not Aka here.. but Hope this helps. what is most important to understand is how and when buffs apply. General main skills, Dragon talents, spirit beast, refines, research, ALL, etc They ALL work exactly as stated. Attack gens are best for attacking, will work for rein but not great. the key is the wording. Attack gens have what's called a Qualified main skill "when the general is leading the army to attack." When the general is leading the army to do anything that's not a direct attack, these buffs will not apply. "Marching troops", "Attacking troops" are attack buffs. They will not apply in reinforcement situation. Buffs that are stated simply: "Mounted Troop HP"
@@Gunstarby She needs to be built up and she needs to be the lead unless you have the other gal AND had her fully ascended. She will work great paired with a good universally buffed siege gen like Mu Guiying for best results
Did you try ascended Idunns and ascended Freyas? One of my AS team members has an 8-star Freya, which has an 8% survival buff. He said he has been cleared before and has reports of that survival buff applying.
From what we could find, the in-city stats that work are those that go along with the reinforcing general (like from gear). In-city stats in your keep, like from the ascension of duty generals do not apply. The only general that is the exception to this is the Embassy Duty Officer 👌
If on an assistant, dragon and spirit beast stats would not apply. However, if they unlock part of the general's skill, that part will apply, provided it is a skill that would work when reinforcing 👌
One mistake i noticed, you said Seals dont work when reinforcing. That's not correct, seals work all the time. They are permanent buffs regardless if your general has that specific beast attached to him or not - that's why you didn't see any difference, because they were active both times. Freya and Idunn work when they are not in a Keep (their buffs are for all the other buildings like Throne, Hospital etc). Marching buffs are very similar - they work everywhere besides Keeps.
You are right in that seals are permanent buffs which apply all the time. So when we were doing our tests, we increased the level of the seals and checked to see if there was any increase in the buffs.
@@RedEvony Just to be very specific: you tested this with Nandi correct? I am not 100% sure how Nandi's description work "defending troop" , because i tested other beasts that have the classic "In City" buffs and these work fine when reinforcing Keeps. If there's an issue, it must be with Nandi specifically
Technically speaking , they would work for reinforcing. The issue would now be, what specific buffs do the generals have? Like any other general in the game, they will still need to have the right buffs for the job you want them to do 😇 Also, debuffs don't work when reinforcing 😉👍
Yes, that would be the logical assumption to follow 👍, but you know how these things can be sometimes 😅 We wanted to make sure that we tested them first before saying anything 😇
@RedEvony I agree with you, but evony doesn't work this way. A kinda safe way to test this would be to rein ac with idunn(as you did), scout ac. Then attack ac and check buffs. Maybe it works. 🤔
Technically, yes! But, it's not in all situations. What we found is that only in-city buffs attached to the general being sent to reinforce will work. So in-city buffs in the general's skills, gear, dragon or spirit beast. Stuff like that. In-city buffs in your keep (buffs not specifically attached to the reinforcing general), like from research, civ treasures, spirit beast seals, etc will not work. I guess that is why we have specific Reinforcing Research. 😄 We could do more extensive testing, but for now, that's what we found 😇
with freyja and idunn, "when defending" isnt going to show up in a scout. you would need to test with an attack on a keep to confirm if it doesnt work when reinforcing
If you send Freyja to reinforce a keep, how will you see her buffs from the attack report? The report only shows the buffs of the keep being reinforced
@@RedEvony good point. I dont know lol. but it seems that, from the wording, you would have to have an attack to active the skills, which is hard to test, as you have stated. great video overall, ty for putting in the hours to do the testing on this
@@kaviji1466 This simple actually. It's all in the language. Both of the generals you mentioned above are in their own class in this game. They are unique in that they are they ONLY 2 gens in the game so far that have the qualified buffs, when the general is leading the army to reinforce outside of the city." AND SECOND separate buff that reads, "when the generals is leading the army." ie Best for reinforcing The qualified part requires her to be reinforcing OUTSIDE OF CITY in order for those buffs to apply. In other words she must be sent to reinforce Temples, RSS tiles, relics during SvS also portals and all buildings in battlefield in order for this outside city portion to apply. The other portion is universal, has no qualifying language and this applies in every situation.
Regarding Idunn, it is a big let down. But the part of defense generals finally settles the situation. I always thought they would work, but there was this common consensus that they did not.
@@MrPunkbeto They both work but must be used in the correct situation for ALL her buffs to apply. The 2 generals ARE designed to be defense generals but are NOT designed to rein a keep. They are designed and best when used to reinforce Temples during SVS and all portals/buildings in battlefield. When NOT used for the purposes stated above then only the second part of Idunn main skill will apply because there is no qualifying language to it unlike the first portions. Read every single thing in this game very carefully and understand how and when buffs apply so you don't have to guess. Use the correct generals for their purposes. "Ranged Troop Attack"
Off subject I new player has anybody heard of a hack that removes my bubble I swear I had 3 hours when I looked next thing I know blinking red just wounded thank for all videos help me a lot
@@RedEvonyyes but in city,? Cause from what youve said the category defending is not aply on in city- yours or you alliance member, my question is about blazon they have defending stats, are they working for your in city troops, and acually like all defending stats, as for caslte decoration and stuff like that.🙏 Thank you for you work
The defending stats on Blazons are for your keep, so in-city defense. I haven't tested them to see if they work outside the keep, like in buildings and portals, but I would assume that they don't. And they don't work for reinforcing
That's a difference of about 100% 🤔 I suspect that the difference in buffs is coming from somewhere else, like your Military Academy. Imo, that amount of buffs is too big to be coming from Blazons. That's just my opinion. Would need to check it out properly 😇
So if marching buffs don't apply when reinforcing, do they apply when occupying a building? I'm struggling to understand the difference now between a marching buff and an attacking buff
I'm yet to fully test this, but my understanding is that Marching buffs work in all situations as long as the March is outside your keep, so literally Marching (with the exception of Reinforcing a keep). So taking and defending buildings, attacking, etc should all work 👍 Attacking stats literally only work when you are on the attacking side of the report. So solo attacks, rallies as such. 😇 I believe attacking stats also work on boss monsters
Marching to attack - buffs don't work on ANYTHING except attacks. Leading the army - work all the time. Defending outside of city - (extremely new) basically any spot that isn't an actual human keep.
I still struggle with blood of ares and I never have enough 😅😅 Most of the generals in the video were not mine, they were Kontor's. That's partly why his help was so valuable in making this video ☺️☺️
Response from CS. Hi Liege, Thank you for reaching out. The "defend outside the main city" skill activates when the battle occurs outside of your main city and you are defending. If Ldunn is part of a reinforcing march sent to defend a player in their keep, her skills would not apply based on the description of the skill. It specifically requires that the battle not occur in either your own or another player's main city. If you have further questions or need more details, please let us know! Best regards.
Idunn not for rein? I can't believe that. Her description seems clear. I am confused, and unhappy, Evony. Wall Generals makes sense. "in city" means just that, whether yours or another.
From our tests, Idunn and Freyja are particularly useful for defending and protecting buildings like portals, temples, thrones, etc 👍 Also, if we go by the "in-city" logic for the wall generals, then it makes sense that Freyja and Idunn don't work for reinforcing keeps, because their skills are "out-city", whether it's your keep or someone else's keep 😉
@@podfreak4ever02 Debuff gens are great for reinforcing as their main skill reads, "....when the general is leading the army." I.E. best for reinforcing
😂😂 My bad bro 🙏 I also need to take a break and actually play Evony (Battlefield and SvS) every so often. I will be working on the general video to get it out as soon as I can 😉👍
Aka good work but it's all very simple. If you know Evony you must have already known the content of your video... The buff type is the A,B,C in the game my friend.😊
Simple answer - Their buffs, yes. Their debuffs, no. 😇 Also, need to be careful with the wording of the sub gen's skill. If it is "when leading the army", then yes. If it s "when general is Mayor", then no.
Yeah, this video was focused on reinforcing keeps 👍 As for debuffs, unfortunately, debuffs don't work when reinforcing. Only the debuffs of the keep being reinforced will apply 😇👍
i think for freyja and ldunn the percents only show up for an attack, not for a scout. because the generals are not defending during a scout but are on an attack. you sure you tested this properly???
Yes, we tested this properly. But I'm more curious about this notion that their stats wouldn't show up in a scout report. Why is that? We didn't come across any other general that did that. All their stats showed in the scout. So why do you think Freyja and Idunn are exceptions? Freyja and Idunn's stats have 2 parts to them. The first part is defending outside the city. The second part is when leading the army. The second part of their skill showed in the scout report, but the first part didn't. How is it possible that the same general with a 2 part skill will have 1 part showing in the scout report and the other part doesn't, but some people are still insisting it works. No one has explained that part to me yet 😅😅
Dear aka. What do you do when for no reason, I got kicked. I have no alliance. The king of this server has deemed something called KOS. I am am not part of it. The alliance crumbled they attacked everyone that was Not bubbled. They have at least 3O bots each. Evony does nothing. So here I am in no alliance .1 thinking of quitting game. This is BS. It's n 4:31 or fair. I have no home. I wish I could join your alliance.
First I want to say I love you channel and you provide lots of good info across the board in a fun way. However, sometimes it's a little frustrating to watch. It's no secret, Wick has videos from years ago detailing the intrinsic and extrinsic mechanics of buffs. Once you understand the simplicity with which to understand the difference between Qualified and Universal buffs, it's all in the language, you can quickly decipher what buffs will apply in different situations. I learned nothing from this video that most should know if serious about playing this game too win. If you are going to make a video concerning topics like this you must tell the story in a different light since this sure confused many. The focus should be the mechanics of buffs and when the apply and you never solidly differentiated before different reinforcing situations. BIG DIFFERENCE between rein keep and temple or other buildings. This is the Crux of this conversation and you could do much better. Looking forward to the accompanying video. Thank for the entertainment! Keep up the good work.
First of all, I want to say thank you for watching the video and following the channel. I really appreciate that 😊🙏 Secondly, at 2:07, I stated clearly that this was for when reinforcing a keep. And in a broader sense, this entire video was about reinforcing keeps 😊 I have also seen Wick's videos, and I found them insightful. It's cool if you didn't learn anything new from this video. I myself knew a lot of the stuff in the video before we started working on it. But there are 2 things I've learned since I started this channel : 1. What you think is obvious is not necessarily obvious to everyone else. 2. Testing and figuring stuff out, and then conveying it to others is the best way for collective growth. So whether we are talking about mechanics, or simply what buffs work and what don't, I try to explain it in the best way I can 😇
@@RedEvony I appreciate your response and yes you did clarify that but I actually had to watch the video three times in order to pick up on that and from reading all of your comments, I see a lot of people are very confused and wondering why the seeds bluffs don't work and all that sort of stuff and understanding when buff supply and when they don't buy the nature and the language of the buff is the best way for anyone to be able to see above and identify it and know when it's going to apply and when it's not. Or know that it's a universal buff and that it will apply in every situation. These are the type of fundamentals that help people understand things when they're deciding which general to use in which situation. Attack generals aren't useless for reinforcing but you really should be using a defensive General 4 best results. In different situations that could be different types of generals. I think the main reason it was confusing was because your video was focused on her defending keeps when her and the other General like her were never designed for defending Keeps. And now everybody has a ton of questions cuz they don't understand why the buffs don't work. You always do a great job either way but sometimes it can come off a little confusing especially to the vast majority that doesn't understand when they see a buff how and when it applies. Even though I know you have covered most of this stuff in previous videos, It can be hard for must to catch on. I guess I'm a fundamentalist about everything cause if you have a foundation you know better than most and can figure it out. Anyways I love that you bring the discussion to the table I have learned some things from a lot of your videos and I appreciate that you're out here trying to help the little guys like me that are all stuck playing this game because we thought it was a simple puzzle game and got drawn in because it's a massive puzzle game 😂😂😂. Looking forward to the next video as always Much love!!! XxHERMESxX Server 903
To me, the wording was a bit unclear. Outside the city means outside the city. So things like buildings, portals, temples, thrones, etc. The problem is that you could also consider that to mean other keeps, which is why we needed to test them. And we now have 😇 The tests show that the "outside the city" part of their skills do not work when reinforcing a keep, but they work when reinforcing and defending buildings. If there are other tests that you think can show that they work, I'm 100% open to that 😇
@@RedEvony well I don’t agree with you. When those two generals came out at the beginning, we messaged Evony, and they said that they would work when defending keeps. They responded by saying the wording, marching to attack stats do not work when defending any building or keep and leading the army to attack would not work for defending any building or keep but all other stats work when defending building or keeps. So either your testing ways are not correct or Evony is lying. So before saying that this is correct would it not be best if you were to reach out to Evony and speak to them? Just saying!
Well, I've done my tests and presented the results in the video. You are free to disagree if you want. You can also do your tests and if you have concrete evidence that their skills work, I would be willing to look at it and consider 😇👍
