If you were a fan of the the TV Series "Little House on the Prairie" then I hope you will enjoy this video. Today I am at the De Smet Cemetery in De Smet, South Dakota and will be visiting the graves of some of the real life Ingalls Family. Charles and Caroline Ingalls spent their final years here in De Smet and are buried here along with two of their daughters, Carrie and Mary.

We are in De Smet today and did the Ingalls homestead and the walking tour. Fabulous! The most fun I have had on a trip in a long time. I got to drive a covered wagon, rope a calf, pretend to teach a class in the homestead school. We tried for an hour to find the cemetery. We know where it is now, we are heading there in the morning. Thanks for your great video! ❤

We were there this past summer and did her homes in Missouri and Minnesota. Very interesting!

I want to go to the Missouri site. The Minnesota site was closed due to Covid when I visited Minnesota on this trip. Thanks for watching, I appreciate it.

The narrator failed to mention that Charles Ingalls and Caroline's youngest daughter Grace and her husband Nathan Dow are also buried in that cemetery.

The episode, that I will never forget and always makes me cry, is when Lauras horse, Bunny, gets hurt by jumping a fence, and has to be put down. I've watched the hole series a lot of times, and I still love it. Sometimes I wish, I lived back then, when life was much harder, but much more simple.

Thanks for more history on the ingalls, I've seen their grave markers with another person but they didn't go into much detail. Seems crazy to me sometimes when I Think about what was going on in history at the time marked by the ingalls history because My great grandfather was born in 1874 two years before Custer's last stand. And I knew my great grandfather, I asked him one time what it was like Back then and all he said was IT WAS ALRIGHT!. HE WAS VERY HEALTHY and just decided one day he was done and just stopped eating and he passed away in 1970 at the age of 96. He saw so much ground breaking history including a Man Walk on the Moon 🌙.
