Wemby has so much less to worry about with the Spurs. Everything in the organization is top notch, there's no extra stuff for him to worry about and its going to help him just focus on basketball and getting better

It's weird everyone focuses on Wemby's past injuries and no one brings up all of Scoot Henderson's injuries. For the short g-league season, he had a knee injury, fractured nose, concussion, and ankle injuries. Got shut down for the season. Then got shut down after 21 minutes of play in the summer league with a shoulder injury. Scoot may need those injury preventing exercises.

Wemby has never been seriously injured but people assume his height demands he will have massive problems. Scoot is in the mold of all these small guys who get injured and end their career at 32 (John Wall, Kemba Walker), but people assume he will be fine cause he is small. Doubt Scoot does half of what Wemby does to stay healthy. Wemby is going the Lebron route of taking care of his body

I agree with his agent! He’s not a low post 90s center, he’s a 2020s stretch four. Yao Mings 300lb frame is the reason he had to retire at 30. Stay flexible and add lean muscle, but absolutely do not bulk up too much! Giannis and Durant are both around 240 - he should go for that.

The thing about Yao and other 7'3 + guys like Kristaps is that having that extra weight on them is a big reason why their feet gave out. Yao was never going to play fully healthy with 300 pounds slaming into his feet every game. Wanting 40 more pounds on Victor is absurd

he doesn't need upper body muscle except in his core.

Wemby is not playing Center...he plays a finesse game, not a power game. He will continue to gain size and strength as hw grows older.

Having seen him play live at the scrimmage (it was only a scrimmage) this kid is the real deal. He is going to be a monster in the NBA and if he adds another 15 more pounds he'll be able to post up and play like some weird KD/TD hybrid and that is terrifying for the league.

First of all, I do think it should be a focus of his to get stronger for the NBA battles. People are super excited and talking playoffs and while I do think there will be a wins total improvement, I don't think Pop will be focusing on making the playoffs. I think Pop will ease Wemby into the NBA season. The season is 82 games long. That's way more than Wemby has ever played and I dont think he is just gonna let him bang bodies every game. I think there will be a minutes count and games rested formula. The goal of the season will be to find a team that can play with Wemby while easing him into the NBA fray and the team goal will be to learn how to win games. Unlike last year, the line-ups playing will be set in place with the goal of winning. I'm so excited to see how the rest of the team develops. I expect to see a jump from Sochan, Malachi and especially Devin. I also think Champagnie may be a dark horse sneaky star in time. This is such a young team still.

No need to "bulk up" strengthening what he has and naturally gain as he gets older and continue to train and play will be sufficient. Look att durant. Not a bulky dude but a great player. Excess weight will just take a toll on his body

I'm ok with that about his height let it be like a legend lol but i hate the weight thing but only video I have watched that gets it right is this one so far...cause right now he is closer to 235-240ish with all that lean muscle he just got and that's more than any 99% of guard/power forwards of the league so he will be fine and was already bullying men in Europe when he was 10-20 pds lighter just couple months ago 😮😳so imagine what he will do in the Wemby-BA lol😂

You’re underestimating the strength of true centers Wemby isn’t a true center which is why he said he wants to get the sky hook down for when he goes against tougher bigger centers

I don't know how athletic you need to be when you're so much longer than everyone else. Its not a couple of inches of length, he is like 6-8 inches taller than most people he will play against
