If Microsoft forces Fallout development on Bethesda and Obsidian. do you agree this makes the most sense? 2020's. Fallout Creations introduced to Fallout 4. Finally creating a modding support for 76. Bethesda remaking Fallout 3+ all DLC. and Obsidian remaking Fallout New Vegas+ all DLC. Adding in Cut Content. from the originals. Possibly Introduce a new Mobile game. 2030's. Bethesda Fallout 5 releases. and fallout 4 remake. Obsidian Fallout 1 and 2 Remakes.

Obsidian doesn’t have a lot of the devs that worked on New Vegas but they currently have Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky; two of the fathers of the entire franchise. I would love to see those guys lead development on a spin off Fallout title.

Sucks that most of the NV devs left after the game was made but happy to see what games they're making now are micro transaction filled flops, so hopefully tim cain and leonard will be able to make the next game and properly show the fallout community's dreams of APA, hot lead, and spurs that jingle jangle jingle

@@technocrat7930that's a widely spread lie, new vegas literally appears at the end of the show and will be the setting for the next season so it means you haven't finished it. Also he was never in charge of the writing of the show, he's just the producer, if there is anything you "could" complain about it is destroying Shady Sands but that doesn't even appear in new vegas but its just 1 city in the older games

My wet dream is waking up one day and seeing the headline that Obsidian will be developing Fallout: New Orleans, directed by Tim Cain and set for release 2028-2029. I feel the region is just the perfect setting for a new Fallout game, they could do so much with all the Jazz, the Voodoo, the French Quarters, the swamp... And if Obsidian managed to create one the best Fallout games (and videogames in general) in just 18 months, imagine what they could do with a proper triple A development schedule.

Try 2030-32. A 4 year development time for a new fallout is ambitious unless you're expecting them to do it on the current fallout 4 engine, which is a mess or have started 2-3 years ago.

Bethesda should ideally just release the games and never touch them again, handing over control to modders. It's seriously not normal what they're pulling off. I wouldn't be surprised if they release another patch for Fallout 3 just to wreck all the mods there too

The last update fallout 3 got was 2 or 3 years ago but that was to make it stable on windows 10. That's the only type of update I'd expect to happen on old games like that

THE BEST CASE SCENARIO would be Microsoft hiring more people at Bethesda AND obsidian and then after that, make Bethesda and obsidian collab on a new fallout game, weather it's a spin off or a mainline that would be AMAZING REGARDLESS. Considering the state of 76 and Starfield, their two most recent releases, getting Bethesda to rush something out is a hilarious concept. Like imagine if Fallout 5 comes out in 2026 or whenever and it's just the size of a Battlefield map with 4 Radiant Quest dispensers and a Deathclaw.

In Fallout 76 i used to see lvl 200+ everywhere on the map. Now i see just lvl 20s and 30s everywhere. Like 80% of players in 76 now are new players and the veterans are scattered across all servers it's insane 😆

Litterly almost all my friends wanted to buy fallout 4 when it came out, but either didn't have the hardware to run it or didn't have the money. Now 9 years later, we've all grown up and my friends get reminded of the game they once wanted. And now all of them are playing it non-stop hahahaha

That's awesome!. I consider it an achievement getting fallout 4 because I grew up in a less fortunate family.. only got a PS4 because I saved the money from the dead end job I was working and got a used one along with a pre-owned copy of the game. It was my first true next gen experience as I had an PS2 for the longest time. I now have a PC and have thousands of hours into the game and have played New Vegas just as much. I know people don't like 4, but it was a religious experience for me getting to experience an open world game with good graphics.. and MODS. Don't even get me started there, but I am grateful the modding community is still going strong and cranking out some absolutely killer mods. Grateful to all those guys/gals that take time out of their lives to create mods and bug fixes for the Fallout games.

They seen what happened to 76 and decided not to. I mean look, 76 is 5x as smooth of an experience as Fo4, and how much newer? Yet Fo4 is dominating it. Why make something worse? More money? They're sitting on a 100+ year gold mine if they keep doing the right thing, sure, why not just throw that away for some fast easy money like everyone else is doing... and kill the whole IP in less than 10 years.

The only glitch I ran into with the update was a random immortal Brotherhood member standing by the pool in the slog, she just chilling with the red health bar, and just stands there while the settlers try and kill her. Best past about it they all use flamers that I have no idea where they came from lol.

idk I always saw people talk about that before in more of a neutral light, like "oh, bethesda has one of if not the biggest modding scene in all of gaming, wouldn't it be kinda cool if they collaborated with them and supported them?" but now people complain about the mods they turned into mini DLCs and the "junk clutter" in starfield that afaik was designed by a modder they hired for it

The Fallout commander decks that Wizard's of the Coast put out in March were also hugely successful (projected to be one of their best releases). So this really has been an amazing year for Fallout.

You can’t let a ride like Fallout cool off. I think this is eye opening for both Microsoft and Bethesda. Bethesda has taken their time and rested on their laurels for way too long. If they aren’t actively working on the IP, they should pass the ball to someone who can.

Thankfully I haven't had many issues with the "next gen" update. 2 hiccups I had while playing in 7 hours. 1 crash leaving the corvega assembly plant. And when I was in Boston I had a huge frame drop spike that lasted a while until I went into the subway tunnels.

My main issue that I have found on PS is that my season pass is not unlocking Nuka World DLC or is and I am just not able to download that DLC. All my texture issues seemed to have been fixes and I was able to finally play the Automatron and begin Far Harbor. Nuka World just gives me the option to "View Game" and "More Info" tab when viewing it in the PS Store. Maybe by the time I am done with Far Harbor then Nuka World issue will be resolved.

Why? Many moderators devote a lot of their time to the mods and they deserve to have that time compensated. Also the studios would have incentive to support mods better, because they can still make money from them. It's a win-win.

I don’t think every mod should be paid, but there are some mods that 100% deserve to be paid for. For example, FOLondon. It’s an entire game built inside the FO4 database. They should be able to have the opportunity to work with Bethesda on making this mod multi platform and making some money off the mod as well.

@Lucifer_26 it ain't a win-win, modders already can get paid & a lot of the bigger projects already do via means of donations. A vast majority of the community do not want paid mods at all, just like they didn't want them in Skyrim either. @ 12:20 you suggest this update made the game not crash when going through downtown, and that it brought the game to 60 fps, sure if your on the older console. Works for Xbox one, but not the series x or s where your still typically locked to 30 fps and when entering the downtown area you either drop to such low frame rates the screen tears until your next loading screen, or you straight up crash to console menu. Only good thing now is that you can load back in and get a little further each time before you crash so can eventually get through the required quest and move on instead of just not doing it.

I wont lie, this news makes me so fucking happy. What this promises is that Fallout, and by extension the Elder Scrolls will receive the due attention they deserve from Microsoft. It also means that there's so many more people who I can geek out and talk about Fallout with, considering it was one of the very first video game series I've ever played (Fallout 3). I can't wait to see what more can and will be developed now that the gold that is the Fallout Franchise is properly being recognized for its value.

The updates all work good on my ps4, except for one thing. The All Hallows Eve mysterious radio signal is silent. I looked up where to go and picked the quest back up there. it worked smoothly from that point

I was having a great time on 4 before the update. Now I am eagerly waiting for another month for all the mods to finally be updated again. Now in regards to the fact that Microsoft is paying more attention to this IP. I see this as a good and bad thing at the same time. One I am super excited that we may see another Fallout game sooner then later. However, I am super concerned that they may try to rush whatever new project out the door as fast as possible to line up with the second season of the show. Only time will tell, hopefully everything goes smooth and unbuggy.....yea right.

It was also made by a very talented group of people, talent which I'm not sure obsidian nor bethesda have right now. btw, despite all this talent I'm talking about, New Vegas' launch was a disaster, it was comparabe to fallout 76 in terms of how broken the game was on day 1. So no, I'd rather they give the game time to be made properly.

Thanks for including the Jez interview - too many people saying "There's no possible way we'll get another title this decade!" but the people saying that are never paying attention to the context of what would be happening at a higher level at Microsoft and their supposedly loose oversight of Bethesda and other game studios. I played Outer WORLDS which was made by Tim Cain and Obsidian- and that game was wonderful. the ONLY thing that I know of that was a little crappy about that game was the "Spacers Choice Edition" was not an upgrade at all for PC players, and just caused more problems than offering upgrades. The point of getting Obsidian involved would be to keep Bethesda far away from adding their "magic" which didn't work in Starfield or in the Fallout 4 update.

It's probably a good thing that they capped the fps @ 60hz being that when i installed it pre patch, i had to manually cap it in the drivers as the physics engine and refresh rate are tied together for some reason, and everything was grossly speeded up when i was getting over 400 fps. I'd probably have fixed the issue completely as Starfield uses an updated version of the same engine, and doesn't share this issue, but Todd will be Todd...

I hope the one thing studio executives learn from the success of the Fallout, One Piece, and Cyberpunk shows vs. the failure of Cowboy Beebop, the Witcher, and Halo is that the first rule of making a succesful adaptation of an IP is: Make something that the IP's fans will love. As a Magic the gathering player, in my playgroup the fallout hype already started when the Fallout precons were released. This was setup perfectly since Wizards of the Coast also work with Amazon directly. imho they could have seen this coming, but maybe they only saw the negativity online the last releases, but there is a huge hidden player base that always have loved fallout and now all found an excuse to revisit everything

The updates added weapons has broken textures for the weapons themselves and its before I threw in some weapon mods like the Misriah armory and XM8 and G36 mods. A friend of mine is having skyline texture failure just showing the sky as a giant purple and pink texture glitch despite my game not doing it with the better weather and better storms of the wasteland mods.

Honestly, I can see Bethesda letting another studio do the remakes of Fallout 3 & New Vegas and release those then go from there. In a perfect world, you remaster New Vegas and release it around the same time as Season 2 of the Fallout TV series then release Fallout 3 for its 20 year anniversary in 2027. Though I have heard somewhere that a road map was leaked that had Fallout 3 on there. Would love a Fallout 4 Special Edition release like Skyrim in the future too.
