The best thing is when Kautuk says, 'hilarioius' when he finds something funny but, doesn't laugh - that's quite hilarious. Love the entire TISS series. Super entertaining! Love x

“Andrew Jackson, in the main foyer of his White House had a big block of cheese.... The block of cheese was huge --- over two tons. And it was there for any and all who might be hungry... Jackson wanted the White House to belong to the people, so from time to time, he opened his doors to those who wished an audience.... It is in the spirit of Andrew Jackson that I, from time to time, ask senior staff to have face-to-face meetings with those people representing organizations who have a difficult time getting our attention. .... I know the more jaded among you, see this as something rather beneath you. But I assure you that listening to the voices of passionate Americans is beneath no one, and surely not the peoples servants." This is paraphrasing Leo’s monologue , it’s a beautiful monologue, it’s about how govt officials should LISTEN. Have to admit it’s quiet relevant today too

Hey! love TISS! the most interesting stuff related to history that I've read recently: scientists have been finding evidence that suggests that before all previously known civilizations, there may have another 'advanced' civilization, technological or otherwise, that had existed prior to the Younger Dryas Period (approx 12,900 - 11,600 years ago, when the earth went through drastic climate change {cause unknown.}) It's fascinating because we collectively agreed until now that the very first civilizations were Mesopotamian, Indus Valley, Egyptians, OlmecsAztecsMayans etc. But this hypothesis suggests one prior to all of that - and by 5 - 7 thousand years! BASICALLY, AND THIS IS A LONG SHOT BUT, ATLANTIS. MAY. HAVE. BEEN. REAL. I learned about this from a man named Graham Hancock on JRE, and if you're a sucker for history like I am, I'm sure you would find his work absolutely fascinating. Much love guys

Yes, but civilisation frankly means use of metal, urbanisation and development of writing systems none of which are available in younger dryas.... its plausible that some technological advances may have been made especially by the denisovans but that doesn’t mean it was a “ civilisation” from an archeological standpoint

Going to the houses of literary stalwarts is one of my favourite things to do while travelling! One of the most moving experiences I have had is going to the poet John Keats' house in Hampstead Heath, London. You are literally standing in the bedroom where he found out he was going to die of TB at 24 years of age. It is a goosebump-inducing moment. And also the love of his life Fanny Brawne lived in a divided section of the same house and he couldn't see her once he got sick, so they wrote each other letters which are still preserved. As well as his scribbled poems, of course, and even a tree outside under which he possibly wrote Ode To A Nightingale! The British definitely know how to honour their literary heroes. Wish Bombay had preserved all our amazing rich literary history the same way too. ☹️

Interesting discussion. Just wanted to point out the continental splits happened more than 200 million years ago, while humans evolved 2 million years ago. Land bridges existed between Eurasia and Americas which is where people believe that native Americans first reached there. Same is the story with the Australian aborigines which are the oldest continuous civilization in the world.

Andrew Jackson in his white house foyer had a big block of cheese. The block of cheese was huge. It weighed 2 tons and was there for any and all who were hungry. It was there for the voiceless. Honestly the Gall peters projection of the world map thing blew my mind. Its these kind of episodes with the nuances of Josh,CJ,Sam and Toby crying about it at first and then realizing its value that got me hooked to the west wing. At the end of the episode when the President gives the "the crackpots and these women" speech which was the perfect end to that episode which had Josh's NSA card story and Ave maria. Long live the writings of Aaron Sorkin. Long live the glory of the west wing and long live the quality of writing that was based on fundamental respect for an opposing view and not the bitchiness we see nowadays. SORKIN IS GOD!

How this world has obliged itself to itself, with so many nations so heavily indebted to each other and somehow some poeple still think that the current economic system is sustainable. Human being are really proposterous creating a system where resouncers are hoarder or sit rotting while lives are lost in poverty and yet have the arrogance to call such a flawed system, which isn't even sustainable, the best way to run the world. Babur was the grandson of Timur and was related to Chengis Khan on his mother's side and Prince Phillip is of Greek, Danish and German descent. He was the grandson of the Greek monarch at the time of his birth. The last greek monarchs are descendants of the Danish monarch (don't ask me how just go and read wikipedia) and on his mother's side he was the nephew of Lord Mountbatten. The Mountbatten family were known as Battenberg which was a German name and was changed to Mountbatten due to the anti-German sentiments in Britain during the First World War. The same is applicable for the current royal family of Britain who changed their name from Saxe Coburg-Gotha to Windsor.
