I love how at 13:24 their cat's ass is right in Chelsea's face and her gaze never leaves the script. That's true focus.

watching this in 2020 the part where they said the invisible man would have to get super strength or else he wouldn't be scary just shows how interesting the remake was. The invisible man in the remake was scary before he was invisible, and the invisibility plays into the main character's fear that her abuser is everywhere or could be anywhere, with her friends thinking it's paranoia.

I could be incorrect in saying this but I’ve always felt that the reason that horror movies in the 70’s were so wild is because that was right after the Hays code was lifted (1968? I think?) so suddenly they could do so much more and wanted to push those limits. My dad worked in a vaudeville dinner theater for many years and one season they did a tap number about the production code.

Syntax xRed It’s not about mount of work, it’s just the style. James makes short, easy to consume entertainment videos that anybody can jump into and enjoy. Only people who care about movies or really love James and Chelsea would sit down for an hour or more to watch a podcast. Chelsea would know this, I doubt she’s disappointed about these not getting millions of views, just give her some love!

Oh man, the Invisible Man! this brings back memories. One summer, I took a homeschooled movie analysis class, where you had a list of movies from 10 genres, and you had to choose 3 movies per time period (so one "early" movie, one 70s-90s movie, and one recent movie). I wanted to watch the Invisible Man for "Early Horror" because I knew the book it was based on was by H G Wells, one of my favorite authors. My problem was, I couldn't find the movie anywhere, so I was worried I'd have to choose a different movie. But one day, while my family was on vacation in a hotel (and I still was doing my assignments because I had 30 movies to watch), they were flipping through the channels and found The Invisible Man playing on an obscure channel! I was so happy I would get to watch it! And I remember, from my course, that was one of my favorite movies that I did not expect to like as much as I did (because I wasn't a horror fan at the time) And now, I am so happy I got to hear you guys talk about this movie! Love the podcast and the Kill count vids! Thank you for covering this!

Yeah, that's what I noticed. Chelsea thought they'd turn the end into a big action sequence, while the remake/reboot does it in a much more simple and very effective. And James didn't this version was scary, but the new version is terrifying because it really is invisible. The restaurant scene really highlights that. But it's cool because it shows how some directors/writers can take something old and really transform it into something that surprises those that saw the original.
