That same blue iPod touch 5. I remember when in another video, it ran something at 2 fps, and then it crashed and if you try to listen to music, it would crash. Actually, the iPods that I still have are the iPod touch 2nd generation from 2008, iPod touch 1st generation from 2007, and the iPod Classic 5th generation from 2005. I remember the very first mobile device that I used as an MP3 player even before the 1st iPod came out was the Compaq iPaq pocket PC that I remember buying from SEARS in July of 2000. I remember during this time, most people were still using Windows 98 se and Microsoft was getting ready to release Windows ME and was still over a year before Microsoft released Windows XP. It seems like Apple released the first iPod at about the same time that Microsoft released Windows XP.

Fun video as always Matt. (: Long time Spode user since new from the firewire 400 days into the video then touch. I later just started using retired iPhones since my 6S+ for a standalone iPod Touch w/ a sim if I needed in a pinch, otherwise full WiFi calling + FaceTime. my 1st iPod Touch had the phone button & dialer but no phone. Apple Maps was blooming brilliant then (: It is a nostalgia. Now my iPod Touch is a repurposed iPhone XS Max 500gb , more iPod then most need but awesome.

Its sad to see one of the most classic generation came to an end. Luckily I am getting one for my birthday.

this is sad news i loved the ipod but wish the 7th gen was a bigger update

The first iPod touch actually released in 2007. Voice Control released with the iPod touch 3rd generation. I honestly do agree about the iPod's negligence in its later years. You really should look into replacing your iPod touch 6's battery. I think the iPod's discontinuation was needed, because it was neglected and obsolete. Didn't you already do "living with both the iPod 5/7 for a week" videos? I used an iPod touch 5th generation as my primary device from 2015-2019. It was so neglected that I didn't see the purpose of upgrading it. Otherwise, most of my iPod memories have been as I've collected them.

I’ve got iPod touch 4th and iPod touch 7th gen, a few days ago I ordered an iPod touch 2an ,3rd gen and iPod shuffle 2nd gen from eBay, I’m planning to get more iPod is the future
