Exceptionally meh build overall, but to be expected if rain is finally coming this year. Follow me like a stalker! (please dont actually stalk me... duh) / emptybox_007
Was just looking at the iRacing posts about the new content thinking "man I miss those summary videos Empty Box used to make." Happy to see it again :)
I'm not an iRacing driver but hopefully I will be in the future. I'd just like to state how well done the track limits system is in this particular sim, I say that from watching a couple of races and noticing how "off-track" all of the drivers usually drive in some tracks when hitting the outer apex at the end of corners to get as much momentum as they can. Why am I impressed with that? Well, in every other racing game, simcade or full sim that I've ever driven, even 2 wheels off the track either gets your lap invalidated or shove a penalty up your ass (sometimes a warning for you to slow down). My most "traumatic" experiences with such a nuisance were on Project Cars 2 and F1 2019 to F1 2022 (which I just played for a couple of minutes then uninstalled it immediately). That's pretty much it. I'm hoping to start driving in iRacing on 2023 holidays or maybe in the middle of 2024. Gotta make some money for a decent PC and a subscription. I already have a G920 here so Fanatecs and Mozas can wait.
You tried out the update to the "ARCA" car for this week that takes away the limiter in the engine? The forums rn are apparently filled with people begging iracing to NOT change it back.
0:34, "iRacing Setups have been updated". are the 5 most terrifying words, to me. "Oh gods, how have they changed how my cars drive now??" 2:20, RIP Jetta T^T.. I've purchased the Ford FS500 in protest. 6:03, Gee, I wonder what you're throwing Shade At. (>____>. effin' Rudskogen.)
Now Matt, where have you found the time to not only test the new content but also record and edit a video? Reckon you must have the holeshot on this build update.
speaking of the over-saturated segment of entry-level open wheel cars in iRacing - do they still have the STAR mazda car(s)? That was a thing ya? Or am I misremembering? I know that series doesn't use the renesis/rotary engines like they used to if it's being ran at all anymore IRL - but do they have this still? In rotary form or otherwise?
Yes - that series is now Indy Pro 2000, and it's in iRacing (and still labeled as Indy since the ladder series is a separate entity from [redacted]car).
Hey Matt, could you please have a look at formula Renault 3.5, super popular tracks this season and iracing setups for each track are quick shh don’t tell anyone, love your work man
@@TheGamefreakers100 referring to in sim time. Like the make believe time of day for the races, kicking off at noon rather than when the sun is lower in the sky. Earlier or later is nice , noon is just a bit washed out looking
Why not letting the braking skill, as in pressure applied on the brakes, work instead of electronics? This is one of the main reasons I don't watch any motorsports., that and traction control.
Learning how to abuse ABS in a race car is a separate skill in itself It's not something that someone whos been driving non ABS cars is gonna pick up immediately however it isn't the hardest thing to learn ofc
Because when everyone runs the line it's no longer dirty, the only way to force it is doing an Assetto Corsa and just leaving it as perma-low grip no matter what.
The formula ford is a car designed to learn how to race cars, before you race something with wings and slicks. It was a critical step to formula 1 back in the 80s-90s
@@broadytaylor9493 Still is, before you go to Formula 4, if you wanna go anywhere/get picked up by an Academy, winning the Formula Ford Festival or Walter Hayes Trophy is still essential.
