Join me for a cozy knitting chat.
I'm wearing the Stonecrop Pullover by Andrea Mowry #andreamowry and I knit it in Purl SoHo Linen Quill leftover from my Half and Half Triangle Shawls #Purlsoho #halfandhalftriangleshawl
On at the mannequin is the Sidar Denim Chunky Pullover. Unfortunately the called for yarn has been discontinued.
The lovely cable knitted purse is a Patons pattern called Fashion Cable Knit Bag. I knit it in the called for yarn Patons Classic Merino Wool.
The books I referenced:
Knitting Fresh Brioche by Nancy Marchant
Japanese Knitting Stitch Bible by Hitomi Shida
The Knit Stitch Pattern Handbook by Melissa Leapman
Thank you for watching and happy knitting!
UPDATE!
I found the pattern for the denim chunky pattern by Sidar!
It is copyright protected however you can purchase an authentic reproductions of the printed original from Sidar.
Go to Sidar.com from the home page go into The Heritage Collection, scroll down and tap on 80’s, then in the search bar type in 5897 and voila the pattern! Have fun knitting this vintage pattern!

That was a lovely relaxing catch up Diane- thank you. Love your jumper. It does look so cosy but I can understand that it doesn’t have the same feel as the original. Interesting your little chat about teas and honey. We drink honey and hot water and you are right that it is great for allergies and colds etc. We have had snow in Cumbria ( England) today but the sky was blue and the hills so clear - just beautiful on our walk in cosy knits. Take care until next time.❤

How lovely is that bag Diane, and with that lining... just beautiful. I'm with you when it comes to honey with my tea. Herbal tea every evening is my ritual, and I never use sugar, always honey. Also, try putting a bit of ginger (thin slices or grated) in your fresh lemongrass tea... it's really nice. Kisses. Ivana ❤

Thanks Diane for such awesome podcast! It is a treat to watch you talk about knitting and lifestyle. Growing medicinal herbs is awesome! Tea can be very expensive. My daughter gave me some tea from a tea advent from a Paris company. It was very lovely but very expensive. Yes, trying to grow some herbs and cultivate it into some awesome tea is wonderful. I grow mint, lemon balm, and some times lemon verbena if I can find it. I infuse it and make tea. I dry the mint for tea for winter. I’ve grown hissop and lemongrass before too. I don’t know enough about them but will read up on it. Yes, I am always knitting for myself or others, never spend the time trying stitches from my Japanese Stitch Bible. Need to start using that book which was a gift! Thanks so much for sharing. ❤❤

@theislandlamb Год назад
Good morning, I was just rereading the comments from my last episode and yours has me so excited about my herb garden. I do grow mint and lemon balm around my stone wall, never thought to dry it and use for hot tea. I often chop it fresh and add to salads and dressings. So I’m already on the right path. I do grow lots of lavender however I don’t love the taste unless it’s in an herbs du Provence and I use it on meats and chicken. I also like to make sachets to put in my closet and near our bed. Oh, I think I see an topic for another episode brewing! Thanks for the inspiration!

Good morning Diane! I was only thinking yesterday it must be getting near the time for you to upload a video, and here you are. Thank you. You had a very lucky escape with your acrylic jumper which caught fire. I think you were very fortunate it did not melt onto your skin. I hate man made fabrics and always wear natural fabrics such as linen, cotton or wool. I too keep my wool in glass containers, though not as big as the one you have. They are so beautiful just to look at. I am still working on my Victorian sampler and will be for some time to come. I am just over half way with it. It is more a winter project as I have to sit inside with a daylight magnifier to be able to work on it. I love how you were able to utilise your left over wool to make the Andrea Mowry sweater. She does some beautiful designs. Anyway, such a lovely catch up. Have the most wonderful weekend. From a very cold UK. Sophie.

Hello Diane. I would love a copy of the cable jumper if you could somehow send it..PDF or email. We could be twins 🧶😁. Im knitting with this fabulous soft yarn that might have a very similar feel to you. Its SIRDAR Haworth Tweed DK 50% merino 50% nylon. I have a 2x2 rib jumper in gorgeous forest green for 53 years. I lived in it for years and I still love. I no longer wear it, but if it still fitted, I would still wear it. A security jumper 🧶🧶💓
