Full of misinformation. The Jews lived there for 5000 years so many archaeological artifacts and historical documentation regardless indigenous or not the main point is they were there and built Jerusalem. There is no mention of Jerusalem in the Koran you are trying to twist the facts with wild imagination.

I had a very sad conversation with a friend who is Aboriginal Australian. I marched with her in 1988 and most years since; supported in every way I could but when she started saying all this ‘antizionist’ rhetoric and I tried to explain this to her she got really angry. The propaganda campaign through all the UN rights of indigenous people groups has been very effective in emotionally trying this cause to the cause of First Nations people. So many of them now hear any challenge to the Palestinian narrative as an attack on them. Some conspiracy theories are virulent. This one is a doozy. What can we do but try to inoculate ourselves and our communities with skills of logic, knowledge of the foundational UDHR, and an understanding of how and why it came about. My fave Article is 29. If people really understood this article they would know what an enormous fallacy it is to suggest terrorism is anything but murderous militarised bullying.

@@freedahlogic8368 I have absolutely zero respect for people who, although they seem to mean well, can't and won't think for themselves and allow themselves to fall under the spell of obvious and hateful propaganda and cult thinking, which is what all these national liberation movements are ultimately about, not content to simply undo actual injustices to native peoples and minorities around the world, but seeking to destroy existing power structures and replace it with some delusional sort of Marxist paradise, believing that that can happen and succeed, which is INSANE. And they've always demonized the original colonized and oppressed people, Jews, which I find creepy, absurd and telling. National liberation, like Marxism, of which it's an offshoot, is deeply rooted in antisemitism, logically inconsistent, and untenable, and always has been.
@heroineburgh

Oren's video is chock full of amazing irrefutable facts, but I would disagree with the statement that there are no "indigenous" people of Israel. In fact, the Neolithic and Chalcolithic people can be discounted since there are no historical records of them - they are from pre-history. The first people to historically live on that land for thousands of years were West Semites. A good portion of that country was known as Canaan ('Retenu' in Egyptian) and their people, from the Edomites in the far south to the Phoenicians in the north, all spoke mutually intelligible Canaanite dialects which used the same consonantal alphabet (derived from Egyptian hieroglyphs) of approximately 22 letters, and even before that, in cities like Ebla, they used a cuneiform alphabet adapted from Mesopotamia. So, the Canaanites can *easily* be considered the "indigenous" people of that land. And here's the truth: Jews started out as Canaanite people, the poorer tribes living up in the hills who came down and dominated the more civilized groups in the cities. For hundreds of years, Jewish tribes retained pagan beliefs alongside their slowly developing monotheism. In the Torah, it even mentions how they kept reverting back to worship of gods like Baal or Astarte. The name for God in Hebrew, El (the high one on the mountain), is simply the name of a Canaanite god. Later on, El merged with the desert god Yahweh (of the Midianites?) and other names for mountain gods such as Shaddai, to form the One God that the three Abrahamic religions revere today. TLDR? The Canaanites were the indigenous people of that land. Jews emerged from the Canaanites and can demonstrate nearly 2000 years of continuous residency in that land. Therefore, the Jews are the closest thing to an indigenous people in the land of Israel, since they are literal descendants of Canaanites. There are also more literal descendants of Canaanites in Lebanon: Phoenicians who merged with the incoming Arabs, proud relatives of King Hiram and the brave fleets which launched from Tyre and Sidon to explore the world! And I would imagine the same is true in Jordan, where some residents are directly descended from the Ammonites and Moabites (also branches of Canaan) who also merged with incoming Arabs. See how that works? These are epic stories. People should be proud of all of that the various Canaanites did to launch the proto-history of the West!

Please forgive the correction my friend. But the issue is not how long each party has been in the land, especially since both Jews and Arabs trace back to two brothers, and therefore have, in that sense, equal roots in the land. "Ishmael was born and brought up in Abraham's household. Some 13 years later, however, Sarah conceived Isaac, with whom God established his covenant. Isaac became Abraham's sole heir, and Ishmael and Hagar were banished to the desert, though God promised that Ishmael would raise up a great nation of his own." Later on, we again have a very similar split between two brothers, but this time its twins. This time Jacob and Esau. Esau being the first to exit the womb was the elder. He had the birthright. Jacob ended up with the birthright though since Esau agreed to sell it to his brother for a bowl of soup. No kidding. Both lines from Ishmael and Esau combined generations later to become our modern day Arabs. There are twelve tribes which make up the peoples called Israel, from which the land gets its name. Of those twelve tribes, the Jews are only made up of two tribes. The remaining ten tribes are still dispersed among the gentiles.The Arabs hate the descendants of Israel over the inheritance issue. And that is the issue. Inheritance.
@michael37377

The issue is your equating people only to religion. Palestinians today are as likely to have been descended from the jews of biblical times, and the people before that. Cultures are not linear. Which of course they rejected, as they have repeatedly since, feeling entitled to all of the land despite having no claim to much of it. But it was never about legitimate claims, but rather about Arab and Muslim pride, which has never been able to handle the humiliation of being bested by Jews, who were long seen as this pathetic object of contempt beneath even dogs and pigs and allowed to live in humiliating second class status. My grandparents were refugees as a result of a war too (WW2 in Europe). They didn’t teach their children and grandchildren to dedicate the lives to revenge, they didn’t teach them to loathe Germans and wish to annihilate them. They moved on and tried to build a better future for their families. They wanted good education and good jobs for us. They wanted us to have our own properties. Yes, being a refugee is hard. But, you can make lemonade. Unless you let hate fill your heart forever and ever. It hurts Palestinians more than Israelis.

Pay special attention to this article written by WINSTON CHURCHILL because he enumerates exactly what the Germans were saying the Jews were up to on the international scene, and he acknowledges that they'd been terrorizing Germany as well - and it was written 13 YEARS BEFORE A. H. was chancellor. 'This movement among the Jews is not new. From the days of Spartacus-Weishaupt to those of Karl Marx, and down to Trotsky (Russia), Bela Kun (Hungary), Rosa Luxembourg (Germany), and Emma Goldman (United States), this world-wide conspiracy for the overthrow of civilisation and for the reconstitution of society on the basis of arrested development, of envious malevolence, and impossible equality, has been steadily growing. It played, as a modern writer, Mrs. [Nesta] Webster, has so ably shown, a definitely recognisable part in the tragedy of the French Revolution. It has been the mainspring of every subversive movement during the Nineteenth Century; and now at last this band of extraordinary personalities from the underworld of the great cities of Europe and America have gripped the Russian people by the hair of their heads and have become practically the undisputed masters of that enormous empire. There is no need to exaggerate the part played in the creation of Bolshevism and in the actual bringing about of the Russian Revolution by these international and for the most part atheistical Jews. It is certainly a very great one; it probably outweighs all others...The majority of the leading figures are Jews. Moreover, the principal inspiration and driving power comes from the Jewish leaders. Thus Tchitcherin, a pure Russian, is eclipsed by his nominal subordinate Litvinoff, and the influence of Russians like Bukharin or Lunacharski cannot be compared with the power of Trotsky, or of Zinovieff, the Dictator of the Red Citadel (Petrograd), or of Krassin or Radek - all Jews. In the Soviet institutions the predominance of Jews is even more astonishing. And the prominent, if not indeed the principal, part in the system of terrorism applied by the Extraordinary Commissions for Combating Counter-Revolution has been taken by Jews, and in some notable cases by Jewesses. The same evil prominence was obtained by Jews in the brief period of terror during which Bela Kun ruled in Hungary. The same phenomenon has been presented in Germany (especially in Bavaria), so far as this madness has been allowed to prey upon the temporary prostration of the German people.' -WINSTON SPENCER CHURCHILL, $IONISM VERSUS BOLSHEVISM: THE STRUGGLE FOR THE SOUL OF THE JEWISH PEOPLE, ILLUSTRATED SUNDAY HERALD (LONDON) FEBRUARY 8, 1920,P.5 They terrorize people, then when their victims fight back they call it "Poisecution! Oy vey!" It's a nifty little scheme, and sadly there are enough foolish people in the world who fallfor it so they keep doing it.

I find it weird when leftists say that "East Jerusalem" NEEDS to be the Palestinian capital; why not all of Jerusalem if the ENTIRE city is so holy to Muslims and important to Palestinians? Wouldn't you demand the ENTIRE city be yours? Why is it so significant? There has never been a Palestinian state where it ever acted as the capital; it's never been the capital of a Muslim polity and even the Ottomans never established "Palestine" as a specific region, governing the entire Levant (which they called Syria as a reference to the ROMANS) from Istanbul. It's so odd to me that the city that clearly has very little to do with Islam is now suddenly SO important to Muslims and Arabs when the Jews took it back.

No, that's not the solution, or the correct answer. It actually started on March 1, 1920, when the first massacre of Jews by Arabs took place. They drew first blood, not Jews, and they started it, not Jews. This is an irrefutable historical fact. And you can't blame Jews for eventually fighting back, and winning. Aren't those people always claiming that a people has the right to defend itself against oppression? That's what Israel's been doing.

@@Long-Ball-Larry I was referring to the statement of people inhabiting the region millions of years ago. The original inhabitants of Europe and parts of Asia before the arrival of Homo sapiens included Neanderthals which can be considered the indigenous people rather than Homo Sapiens. In the video Oren mentions the original people that no longer exist, which I then proposed he is referring to the Neanderthal. There is nothing in my statements that implies that the term indigenous applies globally. Your response is particularly odd since I wasn't even responding to any statement you made, yet you personalized it for some reason. Are you having a bad day?

@Long-Ball-Larry Месяц назад
@@Rabbithole8 Nope, thanks for asking and for clarifying. I still disagree with (and maybe misunderstood) the statement "since many of us carry their genes, can be considered the indigenous people of the land who all died out." Meaning we're indigenous because we're carrying their genes? That's too simplistic anyway and not what indigenous means. Either way have a nice day!

Think about it, muslims have sole ownership of their most holy places, mecca & media in which only muslims are allowed to enter. The country of saudi arabia only allows citizenship to muslims & all other religions are banned from practice as its deemed 'islamic holy land'. At the same time they deny Jews their holiest site, and claim victimhood. Amazing isn't it

Love your channel and all the info you provide! Its such an insightful channel. I wanted to add that “the dome of the rock” which is the golden looking mosque is not considered holy! Its really just a mosque built by ummayad caliphate long before. Masjid al aqsa as you mentioned in the video is actually considered holy. But its not where the golden mosque is or dome of the rock. So in Islamic theory at least, removing dome of the rock to rebuild the Jewish temple is permissible because it is not technically holy. Its the mosque next to it a bit further out called masjid al aqsa. This mosque is considered holy but it does not sit on the holy temple rock for jewish people.
