Thank you very much indeed for yet another excellent episode. I particularly enjoyed the inside look at the Record Plant jam with Billy Cox, Rocky Isaac, Chris Grimes and Al Marks. The additional photos of the shoot on the Warners' lot were great, too. My gratitude to you once again!

Thanks for all the behind the scenes details. It was a mess. Thee unknown. It's cool how the bits fit in together like Smash Hits photo shoot. Jimi seeing the band Love. And this chick tracking him down and say, "Here's a picture of your daughter." Generation gaps, the cops. Noel getting frustrated and the N.Y.C. scene dreaming of what would one day become Electric Ladyland Studios. Things had to give, had to change. The pix are great.

Ironically, the photo shown was of Jimi's apparently "true enough" daughter, Tamika. Al Hendrix met up with her years later, and felt that she indeed was Jimi's daughter. I wonder if she ever received any money from the Hendrix Estate? Diana Carpenter was indeed a girlfriend of Jimi's in early 1966...she was only 16 years old at the time, and had run away from home. She did become a hooker, however when Jimi took her in, he forbade her from earning money that way. But she admitted in her book, that she was caught in bed with one of her clients, when Jimi came thru the door, grabbed the guy, and threw him out!...He then beat Diana with a belt (something Jimi had experienced as a child)...she soon found her way back to her home in the Mid-West, and Jimi had no idea she was pregnant with his child. that is, until Diana chased down Jimi at the Oakland venue, and she showed him a photo of Tamika.."She has my eyes, doesn't she?" exclaimed Jimi. Despite his saying at the time, that he would support Tamika, he never did supply a blood test.

At the April 26th Forum performance, the opening acts were Cat Mother and Chicago Transit Authority. Fat Mattress was not on the bill. I was there for that amazing performance

If Buddy Miles name wasn't so easily confused with the two jazz virtuosos, he might've been a bigger success? Because he was talented. I've never seen ANYONE "beatbox" a guitar solo while drumming

Those backlot photos were taken by Ed Thrasher, who-at age 18-had taken the famous poster photo of Jimi, burning his guitar at Monterey!...And...there is a strong rumor/fable, that Hendrix owned a Harley motorcycle, and did a little bit of riding, around Los Angeles. I do not believe it. The bikes we see being straddled by the musicians, were simply provided for the photo-shoot.

Also...does anyone know the day in April that Hendrix cut his hair? It had to have happened in the first half of April, as we can see that his hairstyle is much shorter in these photos...and it seems like he never again wore his famous hat! Quite the radical change for Jimi, who friends say was very aware and concerned about his appearance. When asked why the changes, Jimi gave ambivalent answers.

I would've been overjoyed to get the news of a daughter that I didn't know about, especially if I was as successful as hendrix was at the time , but it just goes to show how I think he was like Moses on a God induced mission to spread the electric church music. Just like howling wolf ,but cosmic and ultra electrical.

When I saw that picture of Ms. Carpenter, I thought Tamika. I don't see a Direct resemblance of Jimi in Tamika, but I Do see traces of Al. Ms. Carpenter's Genetics are more Dominant than Jimi's, to where I knew right away where it was going.

1:40 -- Well, overall ,Jimi and Noel had a good run while their relationship lasted. People come and go, ships passing in time. It surprises me that I've never read a comment on Mitch's resemblance to Maureen Tucker of the Velvet Underground. They could pass for brother and sister.
