Really appreciate your enthusiasm and support! Next video has been completed and is scheduled for release in approx. 8 hours (7.5 to be precise). Very happy with the end result, with plenty of quality images. Hope you enjoy!
@@BELLY_BUTTON_WINDOW Thank you, you do an awesome job of putting us subscriber's right there with J.H.E.! I'll be into the new episode in about 2 hours thanks to your hard work & dedication to his music & the man himself. Thanks 🤟
Oh man, I watched this when it was first posted and got sidetracked and forgot to comment. It was seeing that part 2 was now posted, that reminded me. lol. I always like these episodes and so far I seem to always see at least a couple of photos, I don't remember seeing before. That alone, is worth the view. But hearing all the detail, in some ways, almost makes it seem like Jimi is still here... and even though I know he's not... it doesn't matter... it's a cool flashback to my early days of listening to Jimi all the time and wondering exactly which Planet he came from. 🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮 5 out of 5, Bro !
Thanks ! Bellybutton window, a lot of good stories I’d never heard. Can’t wait for part 2 , I hope Portland Oregon Memorial Coliseum gets a mention. I was only seven and probably still discovering Sgt. Pepper’s , The Rolling Stones , Hey Joe and going to a concert was unimaginable then.
Meticulously researched, packed with fascinating detail, and exciting from beginning to end. Thank you, as always, for the immense amount of time and effort you put into creating this unique and unparalleled series.
Thank you for your excellent series...I do wish that you would keep your amazing photos in proper sequence, but I understand that you need to "fill-out" the video with photos, and there are not that many new ones. Being from Seattle (an old Boomer now!), I was gratified to see those photos of Jimi playing the Coliseum venue...I was not there, but my brother was. I caught Jimi a year later at the same venue. People from this area say that Jimi's 1969 gig in Seattle was his best...I wrote a review of it (many years later) for Univibes Magazine--which I am sure you are cognizant of that publication being among the very best at tracking the Hendrix career.
I wish u could save them good color filled syd barrett photos someone put in RU-vid but not a video only 1 in sequence he did but other photos from pink floyd days
Thanks again for another insightful episode. Can't wait for the next one. Keep up the great work! I know I've said this before but man they go by quick in 25 minutes. I could easily watch these episodes for an hour but I know how much work it takes to put this together and appreciate all you do. Thank you. Happy new year.
I must admit it's hard to think even Vanilla Fudge could outdo The Experience on any given day . As we have no tape to hear that in my opinion may not be the real case . Not to knock anyone from that band as it was Carmine A. Tim Bogart & Vince Martell who certainly was no Jimi Hendrix on guitar but these are reviews by critics so i put little on the fact they played better than The Experience did . I just find that hard to believe even if Jimi had his usual troubles with the equipment . I have never been to Red rocks but i find it strange anyone can get bad sounds from there as it's one cool as hell place for any Rock show & even Metal . This has been one great series so far so a big thanks to all that worked so hard to put this together. Been a fan of Jimi since i was 11 in 67 & heard Are You Experienced from my older sister , i heard it once & still have that LP plus it still plays OK for having been run through the ringer on the ole turntable . Awesome then awesome now !!! 🎸🎶🔥
I agree- was thinking the same. Critics write from what there used to. With the Experience being such a vast array of music types, critics wouldn't understand. Later Carmine and Tim were killing it in Cactus though! 😊
Plus...if you noticed, at the end of the Red Rocks segment, they quote Mitch Mitchell saying he remembered it being a good gig...so you never know unless there is proof...and Zappa's quote didn't say he played bad, just that he noticed the audiences expectations were either fulfilled beyond belief, or were let down, cause it didn't sound like the album, etc
@@jeffreycollier1059 They had the excellent Jimi McCarty with them...that is why they were killing it!..Just listen to the original "Devil with the Blue Dress On"---with Mitch Ryder screaming the vocal, and McCarty providing a blistering lead guitar--at age 19!
Hey! Were you there at that San Diego Balboa stadium concert of Jimi Hendrix in 68? I was there. I left my girlfriend about 15 rows back and went up to the stage when Jimi played so I could watch his fingers on his guitar. I was only 14 years old and had only been playing electric guitar for two years. But I’ve got an interesting story to tell you that I’m surprised nobody else knows. Perhaps it’s because Jimmy realized that I was just looking at his guitar neck the entire time, he appreciated my interest, and he looked at me a couple times, and I think he partially smiled. The concert did end prematurely and of course I can remember him saying “I’m sorry,” to the audience to the microphone. But I didn’t know that I was one of the few people. I guess that heard him say, “I dropped some acid before the show.” I’ll see if I can remember exactly how he followed that up, but he added, I’m really stoned.” But I think he used a different word than stoned, like “wasted.” But I thought everybody else knew he quit because he was on acid. In fact, I remember him mentioning about coming onto it I think before he played his last song. I could hear him talking when he wasn’t talking into the microphone. But he definitely said, “I dropped some acid before the show. I can’t play anymore.” That may be more accurate. He did not have his mouth all the way to the microphone when he said, I dropped some acid, so it almost seemed like he was apologizing to me. Perhaps, it’s only us people standing in the front row who could hear him say that he dropped acid since the reviewers you mentioned, obviously were unaware of it.
Very good, nice pictures, and the first time I heard about the dog. I seem to recall Jeff Beck's wife was into animal rescues - so the dog going to Jeff's house is likely.
@belly button window Thank you for yet another great episode. I pray you had a wonderful CHRISTmas, an wish you all the best in this new year. Jimi was totally miserable according to many credible older accounts of what went on during his visits home. Al tried to capitalize on Jimi anyway he could, an of course after decades of post mortom litigation Al took control of the Hendrix money making machine, only to be muscled out near the end of his life by Janie who spent less than an hour of actual time with Jimi while he was alive. Thank you again for producing some real truth for modern times. If left up to "experience Hendrix" it wouldn't happen.
This series is superb....but do not trash Janie...she managed to take the big record labels on, got back Jimi's portfolio, and took good care of Al Hendrix! Jimi's estate is now worth over $100 million...not the paltry $50 grand a year that Al had negotiated. She has released some great Jimi stuff.
have read that Muddy Waters was one of Hendrix major influences so I figured they must have met & jammed but I don't find anything online (?) This can't be right.
You are correct. I was only reading an interview recently where Jimi related how the first music that truly captivated him was by Muddy Waters song(s). Yes, they definitely met and jam but it's difficult to pin down dates. You may find the following video of interest, note I haven't viewed it, but it is indicative of the club scene in NYC circa 1965: Forrest Howie McDonald meets Jimi Hendrix and Muddy Waters August 1965 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dh3j8Xmau-w.htmlsi=DhHNbF0V4wVuv3en Cheers!
U can't 😮😮 play the same in a recording studio as just like U are playing a live show 😊😊 it's the energy of a live audience and it was what kind of mood JIMI was in wouldn't U get tired 😴😮 playing the songs all of the time the same way we'll JIMI did that's why he changed the songs JIMI wanted the songs 2 sound different a new sound and tune 🎶 😊 /😊😅🎉❤🎉😊 OMG 1 4 2O24
@@echoflower5435 Which "Black Gold"? I have a three CD set called Black Gold, full of fairly rare Jimi stuff...but the real Black Gold is, according to Mitch Mitchell, a cassette of tunes that Jimi had compiled, mostly while on vacation in Hawaii in 1970. I am not sure what Mitchell did with those tapes, although I think he might have sold them to Experience Hendrix. It is likely that Janie and company is holding back on those tunes.
I have always been fascinated by Jimi's interactions with his many female "fans"...at 15:50 there are a few shots ( I had only seen one of them, previously) of Jimi sitting and standing with a gal, dressed in some sort of dark-gold outfit...I wonder who she was? They seem to be at an airport lobby. I understand, that a few of these ladies have posted their Hendrix exploits on Facebook--I do not mess with Facebook.
Thanks for your comments! Sadly, can't shed any light on those specific pics. However in Part 2 you will see pics of Jimi in LA with Carmen Borrero. Cheers!
At 15:55....any idea who that girl is, sitting with Jimi (at an airport?)..I have a mania for identifying his girls, but I have never been able to discern who she is! You show several photos of her, I had only seen one or two!
Was that the basset hound that jimi, gave Ronnie's wood and it would shit all over the apartment that they were renting from a back up singer 👩🎤 for tina or the ike turner revues.
