All of Perry’s solo albums are divisive because it’s team Joe verses Team Aerosmith online. 40 years later the argument is rather threadbare. I’ve bought all the studio albums of his band, Brads band, old Aero and Corporate Aero. They all have something good on them. They all got a few clinkers. That’s the Aero universe. On a good night they ruled, on a bad night someone vomited into the audience and took a random half hour break. They’re Americas biggest bar band ever, with a 50 year career. Humans. No auto tune, dangerous. I still listen. Thanks for posting this lost gem.
Joe had it going on then. Ronnie Stewart and David Hull drove the band, Charlie Farren singing and playing rhythm guitar gave Joe what he needed to do some of his best work. A great lineup
Went to see The Joe Perry Project on three different occasions, and they were all excellent shows. This band could tear it up, and leave you wanting a whole lot more. Thank You Mr. Perry.
A band I was in in 1981 covered Shooting Star, Break Song and Life At A Glance from the first album. We had to keep telling people they weren't our own material and were JPP covers.
The song of many great incarnations. Perhaps I'm nostalgic, but I still like the Balloon version best. But this particular version rocks your socks off and talk about a legendary fade out...I couldn't catch who did that random last twang!
Outstanding performance! The track from the album was great but I sure would love to hear the raw off the floor recording of this take .This was the top line up of the Project!
Since day one, the full album stands as a model of what core rock means. The songs are melodic and strongly assembled, with guitar riffs and solo's engraved in memory, even 40 years later (listen to rock, south station blues, all fantastic)..
This was a great song and album..loved it back then and still listen to it today . People just couldn't get past Joe wasn't in Aerosmith any longer and they got little, if any record company support.
Let The Music Do The Talking y I've Got The Rock'n'Rolls Again son excelentes, fantásticos albumes 🎸🎸 Saludos desde Madrid, Mr. Perry 🙌🏻
I .miss these day's. Wish Joe kept tje band together. My cousins uncle is Ronnie Stewart on the drums. My first concert ever was the project openin up for ZZ TOP at the Centrum in Worcester mass. The good old day's of rock 🤘🤘
@@JustinSmithPYRO wow! Just like my Y T name ! One of Aerosmiths and my favorite songs ! Steven Tyler’s high school friend Ray tabano used to call me that when we where pretty close friends in 84 ! Too bad we lost touch! CraZY fun times
@@unclesalty7778 that whole era of aerosmith was awesome 🤘🤘 toys in the attic is one of the best album's. But when Joe left and formed the project he had different people in and out. Ronnie only played on the 1st 2 album's. Then left before the 3rd and final record. The best line-up for that though was the 2nd album when Charlie farren came in to do lead vocals. And probably the best album out of the 3 even though Ronnie helped write the original, Let the music do the talkin, after Joe went back to A-smith and they redid it with Tyler redoin the lyrics to it and the band changing the music up too
this is real Rock, it doesn't quit for a second from the start to the finish it is in your face at a million miles and hour, great lyrics and great playing from everyone in the band, they could have gone a long way but the call of the Aeromothership proved to hard for Joe to resist, it certainly shows along with Whitford/St Holmes at the same time that Aerosmith is full of great individual talent outside the band.
Wife just said " East Coast West Coast" when asked what tune she wanted to hear, Joe amazing guitar work, but I found many areas that Jack Douglas would agree that your finer moments and talents could compliment this great creation of entertainment. Signed St John.
If no one knew Joe Perry was from Aerosmith, and he was just some local hero from Boston who dropped his first JPP album on the world as his introduction, he would have been successful. He would have been a hit with that. Then this record would have come out and folks would have said "This is OK, but it's not nearly as good as his first record" and "What happened to the band on the first record?" Then rumors about Joe's heavy drug use would start going around..... who knows how the story goes after that? Point is, Joe Perry would have been successful with or without Aerosmith.
I have to agree with you, although there are a couple fairly good songs on this album, but other than that it totally blows... And let’s not forget Joe Perry was a full-blown junkie at this time. (circa 1981)
