We are in Sault Ste. Marie for the opening of the Soo Locks for the 2024 shipping season. This year, the first ship honor goes to the Joseph L. Block from Central Marine Logistics. We were able to board the Block to celebrate. #soolocks #saultstemarie

Thanks for sharing for years I vacationed on Sugar island and enjoyed talking with the Freighters on CB radio as teenager; I especially cherish my chats with Edmund Fitzgerald crew for obvious reasons. R.I.P I did the Soo Locks tour boat several times over the years. I Served as volunteer aboard the WW two Memorial Ship LST 325 which docked in Evansville Indiana & open for tours. I have had the privilege of being a Helmsman during annual cruise on the Ohio, Mississippi, Tennessee and Cumberland Rivers. Contact the LST 325 Memorial if you want to volunteer 👍🪖 after 80 hours of volunteer service you too could qualify to serve abroad during an Annual Cruise 🏴‍☠️🇺🇸
