that's not necessarily true, some city have sign around the border of city stating when it's illegal to park on the street overnight, they usually don't have the said sign on every single street. It's absolutely legal, whether you feel fair or not, that's open for debate.

Even if someone has broken the law, I think he takes into consideration the circumstances surrounding that, as well as the persons personal situation, and that is a Judge that one can respect.

As a college student paying for school all by themselves can tell you 20 dollars is the difference between paying your credit card bill that month or eating

@Samir Dončić in the uk insurance only goes up if you like smashing things or being very naughty, definitely never for parking tickets though..never get a £13 ticket in the uk either, it's more like £130-$200 minimum

Thats not true. Moving violations raise rates, parking violation is not moving.... do some homework. You would have to have a ton of parking tickets to get your license revoked which would then create insurance issues.

Considering he made his son to pay the ticket, it’s probably not much of a worry but if his son does something even worse later then it’s most likely he’ll have to get different judge.

It's a traffic ticket. Believe it or not, they're not going to institute an ethics committee and an independent investigation agency to ensure a traffic court proceeding is fairly conducted.
