I was going to buy this game but you seem to be on top of Chilla’s content which is great. Love it Librarian I’m glad I came across your channel. I could listen to your videos pretty much all day. You have that imagination and curiosity we have when we’re young but lose when we get older and to me it feels like you’re kind of a “key” back to that mindset. Maybe it just that you’re far more observational than the average person. Keep up the great work and stay strong

Honestly, I haven't seen a lot of games that take this subject and bring awareness to it without some kind of overdramatic paranormal or absolute psychopath killer- Chilla does an excellent job of providing a setting for just how *real* this scenario can be for many people...

I'm used to horror game protagonists being idiots, but it's a wonder that Mira hasn't drowned by staring straight up during a rainstorm.

Imagine what they could do with a big game studio!

Random time and place for an idea: A pair of horror games that read each other's save data, as an optional, unadvertised feature. More specifically, the main character of each appears briefly as an npc in the other game, playing out the same walk across a street the player did originally.

This feels very ambitious, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but there was like…stealth segments, rhythm games, many branching paths…a lot going on here. The mood and terror though…really, what was with that creepy guy in the karaoke anyways? There’s a strong theme to this one, it’s hard to really sit through some parts of this though. A type of horror that I’m not necessarily great at handling, I’m glad it’s not something that you can’t work through. (Just bad stealth segments for you instead)

Oh well, When you walk through Japanese cities you have the same feeling. And that will be the inspiration. For gentlemen, this may not really be a threat, but when you walk through these alleys as a woman.. You think twice about that.. you don't really want to be on the road alone.

1:01:26 the worst part is that I had a PE teacher in high school accused of... Stuff. Idk if it was true but cops questioned him, students weren't allowed to talk about the police showing up to the school, and he still teaches there as far as I'm aware.

definitely feels like the whole “random creep drugs you” bit was to further establish an overall theme, however i definitely agree that it felt pretty meaningless in the long run not gonna lie lost my shit laughing when you cut to getting hit by the van

i really hope one day they will make a game where you’re a delivery driver. and it also takes place over a few nights. every night you start out in the restaurant where your coworkers are, then you drive off in the darkness. in the end of your shift you have to return to the restaurant. only then does it fade in into the next night. it would have alot of potential imo.

In regards to the stealth section, another YTer I watched play this almost won by hiding in a corner. I wish I was joking. Where the jammed door is, he stood in the corner of the blocked area across from it and the coach just...never saw him. Four or five times, the coach came down that way, looked at the door and walked off, all while the guy was stood there. As soon as the countdown ended, the coach auto caught him. I might like this game but the stealth section is very janky. The coach checking places if you stay in them too long makes sense, since that's what a real person would most likely do, but it's so badly implemented, it makes me wonder if it's bad on purpose, as if Chilla wanted the player to keep moving and thus find the knife, which wouldn't be so bad if the actual mechanics behind shanking the guy weren't so dang broken as well...

I like the reference at 8:12 where Patrick goes “weewooweewoo” on that one Spongebob episode where Sponge becomes a criminal

I was impressed upon seeing that they built an entire kareoke minigame for this game and even had multiple songs and a difficulty slider to go along with it. However, I thought "I wonder what the punishment is for pressing one of the buttons" in less than 30 seconds, and it turns out there was no punishment :p It is also odd that they use a vertical layout rather than horizontal, which adds nothing other than make it less convenient. I love Chilla's Art games but these flaws tell me very quickly that this won't be their best game ever.

I’m not opposed to the rape plot being a thing especially for a horror game but the way this game did it seemed like it had no purpose or point, it just felt like a last minute “oh the bad guy is also a rapist!” Just to add shock value and nothing more

Haven't watched this yet, but for context, the Japanese title is ヒトカラ "Hitokara," meaning "doing karaoke by oneself" (source: Jisho online dictionary). Oh boy, I wonder what traumatic and absurd suffering we are all going to go through this time, Chilla's Art.

Love Chillas but was a little worried about this. They did such a great job detailing a female fear especially in Japan and are trying to replicate it. The problem is no female in the world would blindly accept food and drink especially while alone or completely ignore some rando hitting on them. Closing shift was amazing because the protagonist did everything right and still got stalked which is a sad reality. Wish they had focused on gameplay instead, I even like rhythym games but this looks more frustrating than anything. They also explicitly brought up the SA bits which is almost always better left in the background. It just feels like they said, "people loved our female game, let's make another!" Instead of having something to genuinely say.

As much as I appreciate a game bringing up this still so prevalent topic, I feel like the message is a little tarnished by the utterly braindead character and her choices. I mean, I don't fucking know how your brain works and how precise your perception is in such a stressful situation and I can't say I'm mad about it, but it still feels odd to see her just chugging down both the drink and the fries. The other endings were fine, really. Kinda shallow but fine.

Going to have to say I often agree with a lot of your takes, but the price point on this game isn't one of them. 6 dollars will barely get you a cup of coffee and a single doughnut. It's hardly anything. It only means the other games were underpriced, not that this one is overpriced.

I keep seeing the Librarian call that segment trash even though his heartbeat is getting louder and then the character you play as starts to breath heavily of course you will be found so seeing someone call the segment trash just because it's overlooked is sad

Interesting, first thing that jumped out at me is that the Japanese title ヒトカラ (Hitokara) is different from the English title. Not sure what Hitokara means, as a translator gave no insight, but the fact it’s written in katakana might be a clue…either that or perhaps it’s just written that way to stylize the title and make it stand out in any sentence in which it’s written… …then again, maybe the game itself will explain the meaning, so I should probably stop speculating and just watch it already

This game is janky and kinda uses rape as a plot device in an insensitive way, I hope the devs take their time with the next one.

I feel like an excellent twist would be if Moeka was just being overreactive and the coach would only be driving to the kareoke station to offer you a ride. This scenario would enable the biggest red herring ever, where Moeka would seemingly reveal the evil guy of the game and he would actually turn out to be the hero who ends up saving you from the real stalker.

It was really disappointing seeing you keep getting caught by the Coach when there is clear audio of your character becoming panicked (heartbeats and heavy breathing) by the situation and making noises. The game was telling you to get out underneath the table to and move out of the spot. There wasn’t any random things happening and you happen to not pay attention to details which then punished you.

This protagonist is not the smartest but oh well i guess.

clearly heard your friend was panicked and just ignored it, drank a beverage you clearly didnt bring, ate food in your room after seeing someone sprint out whilst the order was wrong too, focuses on getting to the toilet after your clearly panicked friend tells you to escape, first really realized that things were wrong when a truck was blocking the door, after calling the cops in the staff room they left the room instead of just blocking it up and waiting?? police was already on the way, then they hide under tables in rooms with see through glass doors instead??. I have never seen a protaganist in a game be made to be this dumb, killed immersion tbh.
