Even traveling to the grocery store is hell with kids and it's miserable for the people around when the kids start crying and being gross

By the time kids get into the car and buckled in, I could probably already be at the grocery store! I opt to shop at night when possible - it’s very peaceful!

Shopping at night makes sense in a country like the US. But developed countries have online grocery Stores. And what keeps unemployed parents from going to buy the necesseties at midnight when they homeschool their offsprings? The US has no laws like developed countries that force people to send the offsprings to school...

@@CordeliaWagner1999 I mean we have systems in place to either have same day delivery from grocery stores or fully online options like thrive, hello fresh, etc. Lots of people use them, but plenty of people also like to see what they are buying in person too. Most parents do their shopping here either online for the convenience , during the day while their children are in school/daycare, or on weekends when everyone is home or when another adult is available to care for their kids.

My parents traveled with me and my sister a lot - BUT we were the calmest, most 'yeah whatever' kind of kids. We were the kids who hated other loud kids in the plane!! We were both very happy to just look around at people and out surroundings (I still am!). Now is there a guarantee that my kids would be the same? No, so not taking that risk, thank you very much. My sister is child-free as well.

@@CordeliaWagner1999 I totally agree, especially long haul flights. Many parents also don't know that they have to feed the baby or give the child chewing gum or a lolipop during take off and landing because their ears will hurt them, swallowing eases the pain. I'm there - child free by choice - telling them what to do?!?!?

The more I see parents out with their kids bringing them along anywhere seems like a pain in the @**. But that's where it all comes to effective management of accommodating kids accordingly. While I understand that aspect of traveling or simply taking kids to the grocery store it's much peaceful to travel & go out alone without the chaotic, unexpected, & behavioral aspects that comes with kids interrupting a good time of enjoyment. It then becomes a task rather than a vacay. I appreciate your transparency on these CF/"what if" case scenarios to having children.

On average parents travel more by car to avoid the cumulative cost of air travel. Cost is limiting. I don't want to be limited. I dislike car travel.

You know that you can travel by train in a lot of developed countries? I can go to Paris and Venice and Vienna within a few hours on a train. Air travel is so much boring waiting at overcrowdet Airports.

@@CordeliaWagner1999 Unfortunately, much of the US does not have that luxury. For the few public train systems there are, it can take 10+ hours to reach destinations here because the US is a very car dominated country.

Motherhood is first and foremost work. A work that you can't take a break from in your holiday. Luckily there are a lot of ADULTS ONLY hotels and resorts. And capitalism rules so there will be a lot more ADULTS ONLY amusements in the future. Looping at Warner Bros theme parks 🥳

That’s why Nannie’s get paid, because it’s work but it goes unrecognized/expected when a mother takes over. Thank goodness for adult only options! I’m sure there will be an influx in those options as the years progress, because if there’s a market for it, they’re surely going to try and make a dollar off of it.
