Here is my idea: Take that quieter interlude that begins at 2:31,....and turn that into its own tune. It reminds me of some bit a music I heard, years ago. The song by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, "Under the Bridge",....not sure why,....quieter, mellow,....something like that.
