I forgot how many bombshells are dropped in this episode for first-time watchers - Klaus and Elijah being brothers, the sun and moon curse being fake, Klaus being a hybrid. The next two episodes are freaking awesome!

21:10 Bryce you're 100% right about the brother parallels between damon & Stefan and Klaus & Elijah. the flashbacks in tvd never fail to disappoint. Damon is spiraling and feels like everything is out of control because Elena has to be sacrificed. he's my favorite character but he does not handle his emotions in the best way sometimes lmao. I love him and can acknowledge his flaws. I also can't wait to find out more about the originals and how they're like.

fun fact: witches cannot be compelled by vampires because they are part of the supernatural. this isnt a spoiler but its an untold fact in the show. Same way that werewolves cant be compelled by vampires either. I also enjoyed the reveal of Klaus being a hybrid. He is so overpowered that I have no idea how they're gonna be able to stop him because the daggers don't work on him.

I don't think being supernatural is the reason for them to not get compelled because Doppelgangers are supernaturals and they can be compelled... I guess It's just a plot thing...

@@wasselnuman3079 they said that doppelgängers were a supernatural occurrence but elena is still human at the end of the day. When it comes to witches and werewolves, they use magic and transform into beasts so I think it makes a lot of sense.

I think the main difference between Elijah, Klaus and Damon and Stefan is that Klaus actually didn’t really fall for Katherine. He just thought of her as “a means to an end” And used Katherine to show Elijah not to fall in love. (Praying you watch The Originals)

This is the best thing they could've done as production. Joseph Morgan as Klaus is one of the most lethal aspect of this series. There's just a level of suave you need to play Klaus and he emboddied that. This is when the series really starts getting in their bag. it's the big leagues and Klaus is Here. Him being a hybrid throws a spanner in the works because how do you kill a hybrid? and how does that fact in with Tyler ?

Katerina was a human here and that’s why she still goes by her Bulgarian name when she turned into a vampire she changed into Catherine. One of the reasons why her bond with Elijah remains so special throughout the seasons is because he was the first man to ever grow fonder of her as a human. Yes, Damon and Stefan liked her, but that was when she was a vampire.
