I've lived here for about 2 years and I couldn't imagine living anywhere else❤️ It's close enough to anything you could need yet still far away to escape it all🙏🏼 I absolutely love my little Melrose

I love the ole town spirit!! It’s better than the crowed cities who do not look out for each other, without severe reactions. Thank you for this info!!

I always liked when I went through Melrose. If I had one choice that would be granted, I would want to live on Sante Fe. I love bass fishing there. It is a special place…

I grew up on Lake Santa Fe decades ago, and my grandfather was one of the first to build on the little lake. There was an indian encampment prior to any settling on the westside of the little lake.

I love businesses that use old homes for there buildings… it makes so much sense to re- purpose these classic buildings…. History is very important to our present future. Slower pace of living , neighborhood’s important as well. Helping and caring for each other is getting so LOST! So necessary to be a good steward of our towns and countryside’s so we can pass on down with understanding it to our children and grandchildren! How I believe God planned it all along!!

I just drove this little town yesterday while I was trying to avoid traffic on my way home to SWFL. It struck me as a special place so I had to look it up. I told my husband yesterday while driving through it that we had to come up here to spend a week.

Lovely local history, thanks for this video! It lacks anything other than a white voice. Perhaps interview one or two other residents and note that you are inhabiting Timuaca and Potano land. I subscribed as I look forward to any other history you share. Miigwech (thank you)

Does anyone one else know where the “ hidden lake “ is on Santa Fe? You can only get there by kayak or canoe. It’s on the south side of the big lake.

Is this video a story about Lake Santa Fe or about Melrose?

Actually it was not a paddlewheeler but a "steam screw " ferry.

I believe that this was also a water supply for steam engine trains
