What did Morecambe ever do to you? One thing I can say about Morecambe that eclipses all the horrible parts is that you look over the bay at the amazing view of the Lake District and it makes you feel privileged to view such beauty.

I just came back from morecambe and it was extremely friendly and so relaxing, I have never been so relaxed and happy in a long time. It really is a beautiful place full of character and I was so sad to say goodbye to it

Very sad Morecambe was an understated and lovely place back in the 1970/80's. We had a caravan in Heysham and that was beautiful!! Sadly its all gone south now. It is no longer a resort, just a town by the sea... Still love it though 😔

I no longer live in morecambe,but i can say that i lived many many happy years of my life there!I have millions of wonderfull memories of my old home town as a kid.A few facts for the man who made this!Im more than sure that most people in most places like to have a drink whenever they like!ALL DAY breakfasts have been going for a long time and can are served all over the country,And another point,there was never a shooting gallery at super kids speedway.There would be no eric morecambe without!

Brilliant vid & Oh so true, more's the pity. With the help of Blackpool Pleasure Beach (who owned a massive chunk of Morecambe), LCC did a great job on Morecambe's destruction. Thanks pal

Getting rid of Morecambes council and letting lancaster, take control has had massive detriment to 1 of the most beautiful parts of the north west

I remember going to the Midlands as a kid before it shut down, then following it on with a trip to Frontierland. Back in the early 90's Morecambe was the place to be. Now it kind of isn't.

great video. definitely some cynicism but equally many truths - I laughed at the red felt tip pen that converted the ARCADE to MARKET. Also the "joint" between the Winter Gardens and the Pleasureland. Sadly this replaced the Winter Gardens Ballroom that was part of the original complex 😞. Many thanks

Everyone "Loves Where They Live" otherwise they wouldn't live their , or at least be in the know to want to move - and OBVIOUSLY - the narrator doe's not live in Morecambe and has not seen it go through it's changes , and so cannot respect it in it's own right . I I first moved here in 1977 when it was thriving with HOLIDAY MAKERS AND A BUSY AND WANTED PLACE TO VISIT . . .

This commentary hurts me on behalf of Morecambe. I have so many happy memories of the area and being there with my family including my beloved Nanna. Ok he is right about the council and the way they've run it but Morecambe and Heysham have given many people such wonderful memories to look back on that I find this commentary extremely rude and disrespectful. I live just outside Bournemouth/Poole/Sandbanks in the countryside and there are rundown places in every town and city. Most unkind commentary.

I would not mind the sarcastic delivery if it was amusing but it isn`t, just sounds foolish and very unpolished. In other words do it again,by again, I mean better.Best wishes from Tony at the old pier bookshop definitely not Hay on Wye thank god.

i don't live in morcombe but i think this one persons cynical criticisms are too much. i live not far from morcombe though in blackpool and tourism just isnt what it once was either due to recession or the families going elsewhere because of the piss artist outings and poor maintenance by local councils. its a shame. southport, morcombe and blackpool are all in decline. they should all enter a joint venture to bring back the families to seaside resorts.

Just as well the English Tourist Board don't use this in their adverts.It is pretty damning and makes the place look like a bit of shit hole. I WAS looking forward to coming down to Morecambe for a week in July but........!

Prime example of a town forgotten by the rest of the country and the government... no money put into Morecambe, just winos and violence. maybe if there was a bit more consideration about Britains towns of the past we wouldn't all have to leave Morecambe. As it is though, I did, along with many others! By the way Ian Martin, your style of presenting is banal. Sarcastic not in a funny way but in a horrifically pompous and disrespectful way. This town has been left to rot, it's very sad!
