The writers for Assassin's Creed 3 talk about the process of choosing appropriate accents for the founding fathers and the British soldiers in the game.
Actually it would've made the most sense for them to release the game on December to coincide with the whole 12/21/12 apocalypse that the Assassins are trying to stop, since the entire series thus far has been leading up to that moment.
I dont know if I am 100% but I think the first signing ever was on July 2nd and not on July 4th but I could be wrong.... K just researched it July 2nd it was declared but not ratified and agreed upon until July 4th, It was celebrated by New York under Washington on July 9th then it was not signed famously till August 2 and the British didn't find out till august 30th. Those could be some fun facts and maybe and cool events for Connor to visit in AC3, especially the party in New York.
The Americans and the Brits at the time would have largely spoken the same, it's likely the accents diverged more rapidly by the 1790s, the Received Pronunciation often associated with the upper class didn't form until the late 18th century and early 19th and would have been restricted to the upper classes, the people of middle and lower classes would have spoken dialects very different from the gentry, in fact most dualects of English outside of the greater London Area all the way up until the middle of the 20th century would have been rhotic to an extent, it wasn't until the spread of mass media and universal education that the loss of rhoticity in dialects outside of the immediate London area started to happen rapidly.
Actually, I'm fairly certain July 4th isn't actually the right historical date you'd think it is anyway, but I'm a RU-vid commenter and can't be bothered to see what it actually was or even make sure I'm right.
lol me too. im a complete nerd/gamer when it comes to AC. know prety much everything bout AC3 that's been released so far. I can answer ALMOST any question and answer any question from previous games. dont read comics though
We do, but our young generation thinks history is boring, and they get old textbooks. They only get new ones when a new historic discovery is found, and it needs to be in a textbook.
@J43mrh Ever since AC3 was announced, I check for AC news several times a day, every day. They should have released on July 4th (independence day), since the american reveloution is the fight for freedom. but Oct 30th will have to do, but it's so far away.
Assassin's Creed not only teaches me history, but also how to properly refer to a woman's breasts in that era. Brilliant. But will you actually see them in the game? THAT'S THE IMPORTANT TOPIC!!
Ubisoft is great Game Co. and Assassins's Creed games have great story... BUT how they can't specify the difference between accent of Native American and Indian from India ?! they done research and work with Pros? how they can done a big mistake like this?? Native Americans in Assassin's Creed III talk whit Indian Accent form INDIA COUNTRY !!!
