On the Oregon-California border, four Klamath River dams are coming out in the country’s largest dam removal project. It will reopen hundreds of miles of salmon habitat and restore thousands of acres of land, some of which could be returned to Native American tribes. It’s giving some along the river new hope - and leaving others, like farmers, uncertain about their future.
OPB science editor and reporter Cassandra Profita brings us the history behind the dam removal project: why the dams were created in the first place, water politics of the region and how residents of the basin are waiting to see how the dam removals will reshape the landscape.

back in the late 1980s my family and I raised 300,000 king salmon at the old fall creek fish hatchery per year for four years for the fish & game. the eggs were taken at the iron gate hatchery and hatched there. at approximately 100 fish per pound, they were loaded onto trucks and brought up to us. this was usually in the month of May. By late September they had grown to approximately 10 to the lb. they were then pumped out of the ponds using a peach pump into trucks and taken back below Iron Gate dam and released into the Klamath River not to return to iron gate hatchery for 3 to 4 years. the return rate was one half of one percent per year at the time. I think your statement is way over optimistic getting any fish back in any less time then 4 years. Also I think we need to help the natural runs to get a foothold by starting small hatcheries along the way above Copco One Dam. OH, by the way, I would like to have seen the deconstruction money go for fish ladders & improvements rather then tearing down a perfectly good dam !!

It's called the 'Great Reset', part of the 'United Nations Agenda 21' legislation, i.e., the deliberate destruction of all Western nations. The people responsible for this are the central bankers, the 'money men' who really run our countries from behind the scenes. They intend to create their new 'Holodomor' in order to control the 'masses' and bring in their communist legislation. It worked for them previously, they're about to do it again.

They Killed living form of Life in the Klamath River. This is Disaster. I Live along the upper Klamath River. Millions of dead fish everywhere. How can you say your saving them. This is Based on Hope's and Dreams that Salomon will return. I don't see how the River will never recover. The Klamath River is Now a toxic sewer.
