The Last Blade 2 (known in Japan as Bakumatsu Rouman Dainimaku: Gekka no Kenshi - Tsuki ni Saku Hana, Chiri Yuku Hana, loosely translated to "Bakumatsu Romance Act II: Swordsman of the Moon Luster - In the Moon a Flower Blooming, a Petal Falling") is a 2D historical-fantasy weapon-based fighting game developed and released by SNK for arcades (running Neo Geo MVS hardware) on November 25, 1998.
The game is set one year after the events of the game's predecessor, as we learn of the Four Gods who can seal the open portal between the human world and the demon world. The game involves the search for the Sealing Maiden to perform the ritual to successfully close Hell's Gate.
Along with new playable characters (such as Hibiki and Setsuna), the game further adds new distinctions between the game's two fighting styles (Power Mode and Speed Mode). It is the last game in the short-lived series.
The game was later released for the Neo Geo AES on January 28, 1999 and was ported to both the Neo Geo CD on February 27, 1999 and Sega Dreamcast on December 21, 2000. While the Neo Geo CD version was Japan-exclusive, the Dreamcast version was released in North America by Agetec on August 6, 2001 (as The Last Blade 2: Heart of the Samurai). The original game was digitally re-released by D4 for the Wii (via Virtual Console) on October 11, 2012, and by SNK Playmore (ported by Code Mystics) for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on May 24, 2016. The game was also included alongside its predecessor in the 2006 Japan-exclusive Bakumatsu Rouman: Gekka no Kenshi 1+2 compilation for the PlayStation 2.

SNK was at the top of their game in the late 90's early 00's. Edit: 3:21 What an awesomely terrifying, yet classy Fatality. NRS could learn a thing of two from it. Edit 2: 6:08 And that makes two.

Love the name Setsuna. Another character with the name Setsuna that I know is from the manga The Flame of Recca, and he's one of my favorite shounen characters :D

last blade 2 a classic of the arcades being the counterpart of samurai sodown that with more additions in anime-type kinematic sword combat and better fluidity but he will never surpass the master of masters in weapon combat (samurai sodown) 6:47 the dalshim elefhant

SNK does not do this game justice: especially with Hibiki as the character they promote. She’s not important to the actual story at all and most likely is defeated or killed by Kaede or Yuki if not by Setsuna here. Hibiki isn’t mentioned in anything canon so her fate was probably bad the next least important character (Amano) is defeated early on and sent packing and neither join the main characters. Most likely Hibiki either gets defeated or is killed never avenging her fathers death.

I also dislike how SNK promote Kaede and Akari heavily on other games/ crossover, but barely use Setsuna or other character here.

I see your point. I think her prominence in other SNK games was for more of a meta reason rather than a story-based one. Because she had the unique feature of unlocking a new ending by dealing enough fatal blows, it made her stand out in a way that got everyone's attention, and made her the most talked-about character. Last Blade 2 has a very solid story for a fighting game, but sadly stories in fighting games are often overshadowed by the mechanics.

Hibiki appeared in Capcom Vs. SNK. She also appeared in Samurai Shodown as DLC. No other characters from The Last Blade crossed into those games. I think that was quite a promotion from SNK. For her fate, I am glad SNK made it open-ended. Have you ever played the game as her? Don't let her timidity fool you. As other has pointed out, she could become a bloodthirsty maniac. It's up to you to nudge her in the right direction.
