That sucks running all those people out of their homes. It's not like there aren't any abandoned malls, strip malls, and vacant areas in general they could have used. A million sadly might not get them that same type of housing.
I'm sure they were bought out, not run out. But I do agree there's a lot of other blight that could've been repurposed, rather than demolishing a functional residential neighborhood.
@joriejay7950 I didn't mean literally run out. But basically, you're having to give up your home. Some people value their home and its location over someone giving you money to have to move and go elsewhere when that's not what your want.
@@beachdawgz True, like whoever held out till their kid graduated. That was obviously more important than the money at the time. Although if people "have" to be forced out, at least having them get compensated (hopefully fairly) is better than the alternative.
This is in Elk Grove Village Illinois. This is just down the street from my parents old neighborhood in Bensenville off of Devon and Busse same thing happened to them. Thank you Stringer media
He said they're building a data center? I wonder if that will happen or if that company will stay. I've heard of too many projects that don't get completed cuz the company backs out.
It's worrying me to high levels as to how many neighborhoods are being abandoned and just what exactly are being built over these towns? It isn't just only warehouses and data centers something is not right here...I'm worried :(
@Byrdstar6423-un3me you are correct and we all should be worried. This is just a very small part of the evil that ahead. Stand strong in your faith and do good when you can.
That was a nice home. So the developers are stripping recyclable fittings out before demolishing? That's unusual but good to see. I'm glad they allowed you to film the end of the place, a lot of firms would not.
That house is so beautiful. It’s a shame to see all that work go to waste. They are destroying neighborhoods nationwide at this point. Obviously on purpose. And some places are worse than others. A massive attack on the Middle Class. Storms coming people. Best get right with GOD. Before it breaks hard. Just like another commenter said that family could drop a million and still might not get anywhere near that level of beautiful living they had in that house ⬆️. I respect them too for holding out for their boy. But the jerks ruined their neighborhood! And when they didn’t even need to! There are abandoned malls and lands literally EVERYWHERE now! They could have purchased any one of them for next to nothing! Why fight these people for their well earned houses?! All that history. Smh.
That bathroom is way, WAY over the top! It is a bit gaudy but somewhat cool in a way. Black anything in a bathroom or colored commodes like that are extremely hard to keep clean and free of waterspots.. I have had to deal with one myself and also cleaning lots of client's homes in the past with similar features. Nearly 40 years of cleaning under my belt and none of that is worth it at all unless you are young and full of energy, you make your kids do it or you are able to have a good housekeeper. I would HATE to be responsible for cleaning all of that. Those white oak floors are to die for.. but again, a whole LOT to clean. It's not like carpet which, I despise where you just run a vacuum over it and be done.. wood floors take some work to keep up with.
As usual you captured something that is now just a memory wow you are brilliant that's my opinion but it wouldn't surprise me if I see your name on documentary series for a major network youdabest!!
My parents own a 2700sqft home that was built in the 70s, they bought it in the late 90s and completely remodeled it over the years and its a beautful home. Their morgage is $700. I was about to close on my first house last week until the inspection came back with cracks in the plumbing lines, foundation issues with the structure, water damage, electrical hot spots in the walls but it was 'completely' remodeled by an investment company who bought it for $210,000 in 2023. My mortgage was going to be $3200 ($428,000 was the final price after closing costs) on a 1900sqft house from 1952.....yet these companies can buy out entire neighborhoods?!!! When are we going to begin admitting that we've transitioned to a full blown dystopian reality where the rich are getting richer and the rest of us are becoming enslaved to the expenses of their debts. I feel so defeated and Its pushing me day by day to a no hope in sight mindset 😔.
Roppolo Drive & Vera Lane, Elk Grove Village, Illinois. Look at Google maps birdseye view and see what surrounded this tiny subdivision. All industry. Oh, and a little something called O'Hare International Airport just to the southeast. Everyone in that neighborhood made out fantastic. Sad to leave their homes, certainly. But those houses were never going to sell to new families. Tech buyer did them all a huge favor! (imo, of course)
The amount of electricity the data servers will use, will be massive. More CO2 into atmospher. On a side note, my childhood home- was a big farm house with loads land next to a rive---gone. It was turned into a neighbourhood like above.
Anyone know why these companies are buying out these neighborhoods ? ,it used to be in Real Estate that unless a developed land was zoned for Residential or Commercial, it was hard for a buy out or take over , that would be a legal challenge where the County or city had to state the reason for the buy out with a a given land, especially if its already designated as a habitable area, that would be up to the people to oppose and be made privy of the occupation in the land usage and the Right A Way of the County City, there is more than likely plenty of information in Property Records as to the proposed plans culminating over a period of time and the governing body who resides over REAL property, corporate greed ,elected officials could have secretly negotiated a deal too, we can call that corruption .
Data Centers, that is how Microsoft is more valueable than Apple today. Seventy-three percent of US companies have already adopted AI in at least some areas of their business, according to our 2023 Emerging Technology Survey
That house definitely had a moisture problem with seeing that mold build up behind where the wall morror was and the ceiling fans upstairs had their blades all drooping and bending downwards from hi humidity etc. Shows how fast a home just becomes a house or building once the care takers are gone
I have seen the previous video, and now look at Roppolo Subdivision. I never been in Roppolo Subdivision, but I heard about a buyout of it from a skipped article on the internet. It sad to see houses to get demolished.
Wow...I love all the wood! Beautiful floors, sinks the walk in shower & tub would be awesome. Wish I had all that to redo my house. I'm disabled & would be unimaginable to have. What a waste to destroy all that beauty & art. Sky lights ,french doors ...must be rich people now not to take & reuse those materials. I still can't imagine having that walk in shower ..it's huge! Oopps...just got to the part where they are saving supplies. 😊 😢I'd move in as is..lol😂😂
The hanging bag in the basement is a Damp Rid bag. It absorbs moisture and it is not full. That means they put it there within the last couple of weeks. The sadness of the owners is reflected by the things they left behind, perhaps not having enough room in the moving vans and having to leave behind what would not fit. The depression that comes with feeling robbed and displaced is not even covered by the money the developers forced all the owners to accept or be tormented until they did. There is a deep sorrow and sadness here that reflects on the heart of America. Hard work and pride of ownership wiped out by the goals of corporate greed.
You can tell they gave up on maintenance once the company started buying out houses, I'm sure the mold in the bathroom was due to them never using the exhaust fan during or after showers. 🤷 It's getting torn down , they didn't care.
Stringer, my friend, would u be willing to do an actual before and after of each location u filmed in February and match it up to what the lot and layout is currently, like an overlay before and after in the same spot of filming for each perhaps? Think alot of your viewers, and me, would find it interesting especially since the first part has 2.2 million views currently... Please think about it, thank you. Also loved the Fukushima mini-series you did, second time I have watched it. Also i thought that 100 plus year old mansion was right next to where you say that abandoned rv was located?? Did they move it a second time or just destroy it this time? I believe you stated that it was moved there to avoid demo from another destroyed neighborhood back in the late 90s early 00s
Absolutely! Even in Denver, CO if someone offered you 900k you would still probably be getting 20% or even 30% more than market value for most homes. I get being sentimental over your neighborhood but at a certain point you have got to let that go for the sake of opportunity
beautiful staircase ..sad , where i live they destroyed all the wild birds ( geese ) for the airport and now the whole town is practically ded !...no geese no malls no movies ..people gone or stay home ..
If that house still standing as today, could you get those items before it get destroyed? - 2 balls (From the bedroom closet) - 2 pool inflatables toys (From the basement) I would love to have them, please
Home value is much less with that neighborhood in that condition. Going to be years of construction noise and pollution around the property, that drives the quality of life down. Then when the data center goes up its going to go Wooo wooo wooow owoooow woooowoow wooo with HVAC systems all day and night.
You mentioned things to be salvaged? I was under the impression that demo comes in and does just that, everything left in house is all piled up together. So who does the removal of certain items?
It a shame that a lot of good shuff is being destroyed , wish you would have save those two cool balls that was in the closet and those two inflatables pool toys, I really hate people that wasted good shuff
People just need to tell corporations to screw off. This kind of crap is uncalled for. I'm not trying to be an a****** but just a suggestion, try to quit repeating yourself so much.
That is fucked up what they did to those people by making them leave. Those people should file a class a lawsuit against them and sue them for $900 trillion.
Just imagine knowing about the buyout of all these houses, and then going to the neighborhood and purchasing the houses before they got it first word of the major buyout was coming. You own like nine houses, then they'd have to pay you the major eminent domain price for each house and you'd be style and living in Dubai with a Ferrari and a Lamborghini and never have to work a day in your life simply because you bought the right nine houses it would have you set for life. Talk about flipping a house and not having to lift a finger to make profit, you know there's somebody out there who did it.
Dude you're like everywhere with your buddy checking out places, I need a place for all my dogs and my 30 classic project cars. I'm stuck in Central Alabama, do the moving cost I can't move really far but we got to get out of this area and you are so out and about I can't get real estate companies to help me at all. Zilla only shows you stuff that cost the gazillion dollars. I can't live in a subdivision with houses glued on either side, dogs and a bunch of classic cars in my background don't get along well with neighbors. So while you're out there think about the guy in Alabama who's got a whole bunch of rescue dogs and 30 classic cars who's looking for a new spot on this planet. Russia was a top Choice but they won't give me a passport. I need to be where I can get some cool guys around that like to be helpful with cars. In Alabama is not it believe it or not it's all damned pickup trucks.
