Good additions would be: Abby’s love of classic literature, (the books on her shelf, conversation near infirmary on Day 1 with WLF guard about the Count of Monte Cristo, the “all these books...” situational dialogue in the game store), her “pine soap” moment at the store near the cafeteria.
17:15 there’s a frog hopping around. damn. never noticed that. also 19:22, the way the fungi slowly stretches before it breaks apart when Abby takes the flamethrower. such a tiny detail but so so good.
Can we agree that Abby stepping closer to Owen and saying "Then put me up on the board" carries a mad different energy from Abby leaning in Owen's face and saying "So put me up on the board, OWEN" with an attitude please i-the s*xual tension
I noticed the perimeter sweep the first time around. I like how that’s juxtaposed with Joel speaking out vulnerably to his brother Tommy in the preceding scene; displaying his unconditional love for his surrogate daughter. Or, most likely, it was to help foreshadow Joel’s end. In the eyes of his enemies, he’s already forfeited his life the moment he killed their loved ones. He will be just another body lying on the ground. Except as an audience member, you feel the loss of a loved one. As a story, it’s about your journey through your grief and making it through the ending alive.
Sorry, but I wanna say. Ellie isn't Joel's surrogate daughter. I see a lot of people saying that. But the truth is, she'd be his adopted daughter. Since adoption is way different than surrogacy. Surrogacy would be if Joel had a lady bear his child with his sperm, so they'd be related. Adoption involves bringing a child into your life who is not biologically related to you. Again, sorry. xD I just wanted to point that out because everyone says it. Aaaaannnd a small part of me wanted to sound smart. :')
@@LetsGetHighOnMorris No worries and thanks for not getting mad at me. 😅 I didn't wanna come off as rude. I'm like an over grown child that needs to point out things they know. Lol
got the Drake ring in my first playthrough! didnt know i could get emotional over a fictional ring, but i had to pause the game and walk around for a couple of minutes coz i wasnt expecting it. Uncharted 2 is one of my all-time fave games, and idky i wasnt expecting more Uncharted easter eggs in TLOU2 after the ones they put in other games and vice versa also: geezas was Jesse’s “one time, the boy just let the whole village die” an ironic in-game self-read for the end of TLOU1 lmaaaao
when they're looking for gas in Seattle, it'll be in the second place you look for, regardless of if you go to the synagogue or the court house first, you will find of the second place, and there's different dialogues too for both places you find it
At the part with the apartment workbench and WLF defectors, the clickers/runners can actually help out when you get ambushed. i found that out on my very first play through by accident b/c I was playing really cautious and lost track of a runner + the clicker just happened to wander up. it was absolute pandemonium 🤣
Whenever I discuss this game with others, I always tell them that the game itself is beautiful and that the mechanics are amazing and the details and everything are beautiful, but I hate the story lol.
@@shailoedmerrick6751 ya I here ya auto, graphics gun play all great but the story is we’re it ultimately matters and sadly they fell short I know it’s hard to make a good story I’m not a writer but I feel they had so much potential and ultimately failed there were so many different directions they could have went and to be honest I’d be ok with Joel dying if they just gave him some dignity but instead this old man gets gang beaten by a much of people one person with a golf club while manny spits on his corpse and calls him a mother fucker in Spanish is how you destroy your story and your franchise while also destroy the hearts of the fans who have waited 7 years to see there beloved character literally treated like trash all because he is a stright white male is just sick in my opinion I mean they think the gamers are toxic fuck what you created is even more toxic but whatever I’m done ranting the game is made there is no changing it I just don’t see how they can even make a part 3 with Joel dead, Ellie loses 2 fingers her father figure her girlfriend at this point they might have well just killed off Ellie too I feel like now they pussied out in killing her off
@@Fighting_irish493 Yeah, pretty much all the people that I've discussed it with loved the story (Naughty Dog sure knows how to divide a fan base) but I absolutely did not. And it's not just that I hated it, I just... it was exhausting. And such a wild flip from what the first game was, it didn't even really feel like the same characters, or even the same universe. Personally, I didn't need a story about hate and revenge; anything else would have been better. And I agree, I expected Joel to die and I would've been way more okay with it had he died with a shred of dignity, as you said. There are a couple of videos on RU-vid where people basically rewrite the story to what they think Naughty Dog should've done and I think they were far better.
