Hey All! Well we made it to the end of the season, and wow... Seriously, one of the best new shows. This one has it all, great acting, great drama, great visual effects. My only gripe: We need to see more of the infected!
This video is NOT a replacement for the show, and is solely for commentary purposes. Please watch the show.

From what I've heard, the woman who plays Ellie's mom in the beginning is actually the one who did the voice for Ellie in the game. Your wife might be remembering her from her days as a child actor on Growing Pains as Chrissy Seaver. Also, if I'm remembering correctly, the guy that was Kathleen's right-hand man, was the voice actor for Tommy* in the game.

You heard correct. Also, the same actress (Merle Dandritch) played Marlene in the games and show.

That last mission is the game is probably the most badass shooting action I've ever played clearing all those guys out in the hospital. The show only shows a glimpse of what it was like.

17:34 buddy boy is the legendary voice actor who played Jeol in the game. Anna, Ellie’s mom another legendary voice actress who played Ellie. Idk if anyone mentioned before Jeffrey Pierce played tommy and Marlene in the show actually played Marlene in the game.

That hospital scene is honestly one of the greatest scenes in tv history imo..it had such gravitas and an odd poetry... Powerful stuff.

Cameo's by the original video game actors: Marlene (game and show) was played by Merle Dandritch Perry, played by Jeffrey Pierce is Tommy in the games James, played by Troy Baker is Joel in the games Anna, played by Ashley Johnson is Ellie in the games Nurse #2 (game and show) played by Laura Bailey (She also plays a pivotal character in video game Part 2, but won't say for spoilers)

And I think the Clickers motion captured actors were either the same ones as in the game or huge fans of the game and this is why they moved identical to the ones we are used to

I think Marlene has been keeping tabs on Ellie from afar throughout Ellie's life. Remember, in the first episode, she knew who Ellie was despite Ellie giving them a fake name. She told Ellie that she was the one who put her with FEDRA to keep her safe. She was also the one who recruited Riley into the Fireflies, but would not let Riley involve Ellie with the dangerous life of the Fireflies. Riley asked Marlene to let Ellie come with her to Atlanta and join the Fireflies, but Marlene wouldn't let her. Marlene has been doing what she can to do what's best for Ellie. She even put her with her enemy, FEDRA, because she would be safe there.

Yep, you're right about that. Some of these details I missed upon first watch. But during the editing process, that's like the second watch for me, and I did catch onto some of this after the fact. Thanks for watching these videos as well, man!

@@mikewatchesstuff a lot of people think that Marlene is a monster, which I understand. She did violate Ellie's bodily autonomy by not being honest with her and going ahead with the procedure. Although wrong, I think she did this for the right reasons. To save humanity. Joel did the right thing by saving Ellie from having her bodily autonomy violated, but he did so for selfish reasons. He could not lose another daughter. Remember the first words he said after Marlene explained the procedure to him? "Find someone else." He just couldn't lose Ellie.

Oh this isn't even the worst of it man! I have reactions filmed from back when I started doing reactions over three years ago lol. Recording them is the easy part but editing is what kills my time. With work and other life obligations, some of these end up on the shelf for a really long time. Maybe if the channel does well enough one day, I can pay someone to edit these for me like the bigger channels do. Also, if there's anything you want to see on the channel let me know! I usually knock out requests faster than things like The Last of Us, which wasn't anyone's request.
@jthomann71
@jthomann71 4 месяца назад
@@mikewatchesstuff Ah, okay, I get it. What are your interests in movies and TV? I usually don't make requests far outside of a reactor's tastes because I like when reactors enjoy what they watch and I don't usually ask for many shows like Supernatural that would take 27 years for someone to get through.

38:15 in the first episode, when Ellie and Marlene are talking and Ellie asks "are you my fucking mom?", Marlene tells Ellie that she's the one who put her in Fedra's care.

In episode 6, Maria said, “The only people that can betray us are the ones we trust.” That was foreshadowing for Joel betraying Ellie’s trust and humanity’s last hope.

I don't agree that everybody they met has been messed up. Bill and Frank were Ok, Tommy's group were ok (if you didn't try them), and even Kathleen's group. The KC Fedra had been r*ping, t*rturing and k*lling people for 20 years, so they simply fought back. As for Kathleen's obsession with Henry... don't you think Joel would be just as bad if he got to Wyoming and learned that his brother had been tortured and killed? Just look at what he did to the guys that took Ellie? So no, I am sorry, but I 100% don't agree with the statement about Kathleen. (Please don't read this comment thinking I am being aggressive, I know this is the internet and everybody is always being mean to one another, but I was just stating my opinion, with respect :) )

Buddy Boy James, actor Troy Baker was joel in the game. Ellie's mom Ana, actress Ashley Johnson, was Ellie in the game Perry was Tommy in the game And Marlene still Marlene in the game More than that? I don't know Katherine O. wouldn't she be Ellie's greatgramma? I am glad you realized David wasn't a good person when he was talking to James the first time, about losing faith. Most reactors are clueless, that's scary to me.

I like her (the girlfriend. In general, these recent reactors, most, are more perceptive people. Most of the others, not all, but most, are clueless. However, surprisingly in most cases too, the youngest, get it sooner🤔and most of them don't care about voting, we are screwed) She, the girlfriend is mature, except when she uses the word zombie, no zombies here, I hate them, but no biggie. They (Ellie and friend) were not in love, they had feelings for each other, exactly. Reminded me a movie, the old man tell to his grandaughter " yes, love is complicated" and grandma says "Edgar, she is not saying love, she is talking about having sex with her boyfriend" :) And then i was thinking too "my 14 year old is not deciding anything until she or he is 18 at least" 😄 I don't know why adults always say, "She can decide, she can decide". I am, what? she knows nothing about life, Marlene was brainwashing her, and she was almost raped. And David he was being a dick right ? thank you, he was being condescending with Ellie, no one gets that. The boyfriend is perceptive too, I mention this because takes so long to most to realize David's intentions, that's scary. Most also say "In an apocalypse, i wouldn't survive" . Yes I believe that.
