In this video review, we're taking a look at the new space sim game The Last Starship, which is currently in Early Access on Steam.
Reggie and the boys have been enjoying out time playing the game and we have to say that it's potentially great. However, there are some very noticeable glitches and bugs in the game and it lacks a lot of polish with its UI. Hopefully these can be addressed as the game continues it's development but there is a lot to The Last Starship which has me wanting more.

I’ve honestly enjoyed my time with it. Not sure it’s worth the full $30 right now though, but without question worth keeping on the wishlist. Thanks for the comment!

I understand the points you make and the conclusion that the game is not worth $30 at this point in time is fair. But anyone who (like me) has followed the evolution of Prison Architect through all of the alpha versions up to the finished game knows how Introversion works. They already said that the game will be in Alpha for several years (at least 4/5) during which they will add stuff, polish, balance and all that is needed to make it a good game. And I'm ready to bet my online reputation (of which I have none) that the end result will be worth every penny and provide many many hours of entertainment.

I agree with you lad. Their reputation proceeds them and I expect this to end up being good. Exactly why I will be doing a re-review when it goes into full release. I think it’s got a great potential and if you want to support the devs and go on this journey, then absolutely you should buy the game. However for those not in the know who may just stumble across this and wonder if it’s for them, my recco would be to hold fire and wait a bit until it get polished up. Great comment though, love all of that!

It's so frustrating as I've been years looking for a good capital ship survival game, but aside from the overall lack of polish the sandbox ship building where everything looks like it's made of Lego just turns me off.

Score is only based on day one of early access, but I do think it has huge potential and I can't wait to watch this one grow, especially based on the excellent Prison Architect. Still, right now FTL is king...
