In this video we revisit the White Lakes Mall in Topeka, Kansas a little over a year later. This is one of our favorite abandoned places. Unfortunately they plan on demolishing the mall in the coming months.
Thanks for watching! Yeah some places are more risky than others so sometimes you don’t have to worry about trespassing. But we’ll have lots of new places to show in the future if you’re interested
Thanks for this. It's so sad. There were lots of good memories made there. In the mid 90's there was a baked potato stand called the Spud Hut, (I think that was the name) kiosk where I used to go for lunch. They had the biggest baked potatoes. An older lady ran it. A lot of folks would walk around inside for exercise on our lunch breaks, before or after work. At that time, there were offices in the basement, and some state of Kansas offices were also located there. I think it could've been repurposed had it not sat empty for so long & then caught fire.
Hard to believe it's been pretty much fully demolished. (Maybe it is already.) I never went there since it was before my time but my mom and dad met there as teens. It saddens my mom a lot knowing that it fell into such disrepair and eventually torn down. But I will say, you guys did a great job capturing the final moments before it was torn down. So crazy to see just how badly it detiorated.
We’ll probably go back to Topeka at some point for a couple other videos so we’ll have to meet up then. Also the video of the Topeka state hospital will be coming out soon if you want to see that!
Right in this moment im living in topeka and ive seen that places so many time wondering if you could get inside or what is inside, thanks for making this video, i can now see whats inside that plcae now!👍
I think I got the last video in this place before demolition 🤣🤣 I have videos of me and friends on the roof DURING the demolition. Lmaoo. They did half the mall and only the old JCPenney was still standing so we went to the roof and saw 2 workers messing w an electrical box below us, so we were pretty much exploring it while they were actively working on demolishing it 😭 but not with heavy equipment, just a few ppl on foot doing electrical wiring things. I think I still have the videos
There was a update on the news today about them finding a dead body in the basement where the water was that’s been missing since 2019 which means it was there when we were
