In the basement there was a room with the door welded shut. They knocked out the bricks around the upper section of the door. So I took a peek of what they hid behind the door. There was 1970's CRT monitors stacked in a curve around the back wall, on the floor was two skeletons. They still had there uniforms and shoes on. They were lying face down. These dudes were likely in there office when the flash flood hit the facility on September 12, 1977. Water poured in so quickly there was no chance to escape, especially when the lights went out. By what I saw, that is my assessment of what happened. So management shut the door and welded it closed. I wanna know what happened to those bones, who were they? Its a mystery that bugs me nonstop till this very day.
A lot of KCSD schools have in the past few decades either closed or transferred to neighboring school districts. About half of the school buildings in the Raytown district are actually in Kansas City, not Raytown, and a few years back Van Horn High School transferred from KC to Independence.
PLEASE PIN THIS!, the mall has now been demolished and the city still does not know what to turn it in, rumours have said that they will be turning it into a apartment complex or if they can not afford to do that, they will leave the parking lot sitting their to rot, and well time will only tell, (also they just finished demolishing it last week!)
I live around 25 minutes away from the park and I remember when they built the slide and tore it down, me and my husband drove by when they were building it and we were like nope lol but it was soo sad about Caleb poor kid (R.I.P.).... but what I heard about the park not surprising it closed down ..
How could I get grant to restore to turn it into a school that teaches the bible to are children and troubled kids or any kid and to have military involved allso so and so history and music and a school that would sing of praising God and art drawing and pictures
I attended the school around 2011-13. I’ve always wanted to explore it, but could never find a way in. I believe the building rotting took a big part in its closure since it had become a real safety hazard. Weeks was already closed and condemned when I went to school there.
Tis facts! they are struggling to take them down because they cant just demo it like any other building. They actually spent $1.2 million, to deconstruct 4 of the silos in the 70's or 80's to make way for I-80. This is why they have sat abandoned for so many years. Someone bought the property in the spring for $700k and has been just sitting on it since. the asbetos and lead would go into about a 3 block radius for up to 21 days if they were to just knock it down or blow it up. They have to slowly take it apart from the top, down.
Bro shut up stop trying to bring politics to RU-vid stop thinking politics care about you they don't they don't even know who you are nobody loves people like this including your parents I bet you will never be able to manage a city half of the red states only have small towns not city's so of course crime is gonna be stronger there.
Red state, yes. But all of NWI is more Blue. NWI is considered a "Chicago Suburb" and the people here reflect their blue beliefs. Also, I'm sure it has nothing to do with it, but 85% of the population in Gary is black.
