A classic, still worthy to watch in 2022

when Jeremy punched Jeremy in the face, i almost spit my food into the screen

He ain't lyin'. This movie was worse than dogshit. It was actually so much worse than what I expected. Thank GOD I saw it at a drive-in double feature for 7 bucks. If I actually spent real movie ticket money on this, I would've been pissssssed. Some of the fake backdrops literally and no exaggeration actually looked like something out of an old 1970's tv show. I couldn't believe my eyes.

In spite of Jeremy's spot on panning of this travesty, I foolishly went to see it, may the Gods forgive my blasphemy :(

I saw this movie on the 10th, forgetting to check to see if you reviewed this: that was my first mistake. Throughout the movie, I kept whispering to my dad "I'm sorry..." (I now owe him 25 bucks; yes, we saw the 3D version). Funniest part, at the end of the movie, people were clapping, and my dad and I were booing and he said the greatest line that I will quote forever: "What movie were they watching!? This is crap!" -My father, 1/10/13

Fun fact: Around the time the trailer was released they changed the name from Hercules: The Legend Begins to The Legend Of Hercules because they knew it was going to flop and there'd never be a sequel.

The UK has a great January movie line-up because they don't release the Oscar-movies here until Jan/Feb. 12 Years a Slave, the Wolf of Wall Street and Lone Survivor aren't even released here yet.

The worst part of this movie is that it keeps coming up as relevant in my Hercules Thracian wars searches. From what I saw in the trailers, they also seemed to confuse Greece with Rome.

The story of Persephone is a personal favorite of mine. In the original tale, she wandered down to the land of the dead, because she wanted to ease the screams of despair she heard from down below and personally, I think that could lend itself to a very interesting adaptation if put in the right hands.

Of course the movie was dog shit. You have Kellan Lutz starring as the lead and his "acting" alone makes Keanu Reeves look like Morgan Freeman. Hell, he makes Megan Fox look like Meryl Streep. The producers of Twilight must've known just how bad he was since he only had about 20 minutes of screen time in all five movies.

I'm a huge fan of the original "Jason and the Argonauts". I'm also a big fan of Ray Harryhausen. All of his movies are great! He did the original "Clash of the Titans" as well.

The visual effects of The Ten Commandments looked better than this. Yeah, I think a movie made in 1956 (albeit a really good movie) has better special effects than a movie made in 2014.
